    Thanks for the heads up on the issue with Nest thermostat incompatibility.

    Love your videos. Just want to chime in and mention that the Nest Thermostat WILL work with the Naviens if you add an 5W 220ohm resistor between W and C on the Navien. I have it working on my NCB190/080H.

    Can I install a combo boiler just for hot water? I want to install split systems in my house but want to install a tankless boiler as backup and not install the baseboards now just use it for hot water . Is that durable?

    Man thats Beautiful work!!-!!!! How do i get a nest to work with my navien, i do have a taco switching relay hooked up?? Thank you

    • @louietheboilerman
      @louietheboilerman  4 месяца назад

      Yes, you need a switching relay .. Taco is fine but you can use any switching relay as long as you have a set of dry contacts in the relay when there is a call for heat

    have you had any problems with these new units 3way valves ? hot water but no heat?

    • @louietheboilerman
      @louietheboilerman  10 месяцев назад

      Yes, I have … the 3-way valve is a common problem how ever that also has to do with the water quality of the water… so I would suggest installing a water filter and softener if possible and a magnetic 🧲 water filter

    Whats the estimate for a job like this

    • @louietheboilerman
      @louietheboilerman  5 месяцев назад +1

      Depending what needs to be done it vary from $12k - $18k. Depending what’s involved meaning how many zones? If it’s for radiant heating and application and if it’s an oil to gas conversion. So it’s more than just installing the boiler. But I would say that’s a fair number

    exhaust below and next to the window... no good

    • @louietheboilerman
      @louietheboilerman  7 месяцев назад

      I agree but we didn't have much of a choice based on the lay out of the job which is why i moved the exhaust up high next to the chimney and thats what the customer wanted. There is no perfect jobs sometimes. We work the best we can within the circumstances

  • @CrssRds
    @CrssRds 8 месяцев назад +1

    Why you terminating the exhaust below and next to the window... Red tag, or waay baah 😂 no good

    • @louietheboilerman
      @louietheboilerman  7 месяцев назад

      Im going to expalin why? Based on the lay of the job, we didn't have much room and based on the circumstances we explained to the customer and they understood and also that window rarely opens so the customer wanted it there and no additional holes and not close to the back yard. I should mentioned that in the video but the next time i encounter an issue like that i will be sure to mention why we terminated the way we did and location. Some jobs you have to do what you have to do and some customers are ok as long as we explained to them and show them. But i do agree with you. When your in business sometimes you have to bend the rules a little bit because some jobs are just not so straight forward.
