I changed the brake pads on my car and I never pushed the caliber in. I don’t wanna mess up my royal star so does the caliber stay pushed in then you take off the c clamp to put it back on the bike? Or r u supposed to leave the c clamp on while you put it back on
Not sure. He bought it used at the end of last year. He puts a lot of miles on he's part of a motorcycle club. I'll let you you know when I do them again.
I go 76,000 miles on my rear pads. I’m just now changing them out. That’s why I was watching this video. Thanks for the video, you just saved me o er $100.00 for labor. 🙌🏼
@@kasperaquatics 76,000??? I was wondering if mine needed done. I just bought an 07 with 12k miles on the bike. The front are new and have plenty left, but it’s easier to tell bc the grooves in the pad. The rear doesn’t have the grooves, and I can hear them a little when I break so I thought maybe they needed done… I’ll have to get them off and actually measure how much is left but maybe the sound is just because the bikes Barry been ridden over the 15 years it’s been alive.
Good job on explaining. Thank you. Safe riding.
Beautiful clean job, bossmen
I was almost positive it was this simple. Got new pads today.

Yes the caliper stays compressed until you actuate the brake
Its good practice to clean the crap off the piston before you push it back into the caliper. Soapy water and a toothbrush works well.
Thanks for for help!
How many miles did he get on them before needing new rear pads
