HBAR on Ledger Live Setup + HashPack Wallet Integration

- In this video I explain how to setup HBAR on Ledger Live so you can move HBAR to Ledger and securely store it on your cold wallet.
This is available in Ledger Live recently with the latest software update. So please make sure you update your Ledger Live to the latest version.
Plus I am going to be showing you how you can connect your Ledger with HashPack wallet and still store it on Ledger but view it on the Hashpack UI.

@@liviuoctavianlita1445 none taken, and I am no magician but this page www.ledger.com/hedera-wallet literally says "Check your balance in real-time, send and receive your hedera and 5,500+ other assets directly from Ledger Live". And also here www.ledger.com/academy/introducing-hedera-and-hbar?Social_Organic&Academy_Hedera it says "it has just been supported on Ledger Live, meaning you can buy (through MoonPay) sell and manage HBAR seamlessly with Hedera wallet" and also "How do you do that? Simply create an account in MyHbarWallet and import it into Ledger Live; from there, you’ll be able to manage you HBAR with ease.". I never used MyHbarWallet but I did connect it to Hashpack before, maybe that's why I am able to create it now on Ledger Live but I am not sure if that's the case you can try. I am not the only one who's done there are people in the comments that said it worked.

I have the latest version of ledger live but this method doesn't work.. it sends me to ledger support where I have instructions on how to transfer the header to ledger and it's not as simple as you have in the video

Thanks for another helpful vid. Can you help with this issue. I’ve downloaded the recent Ledger Live app from the Ledger web page as per you vid. I’ve installed the HBAR app as this is what i want to transfer, bit it won’t allow me to make an account? The process stops at account with a message that reads - please refer to this article for how to create a Hedera account, which takes me to an explanation on how to set up a Hedera account via HashPack, which i don’t want as i know i should be able to do this without HashPack? Thanks

I don't have a desktop. I do everything on my android. I download the app but when i go to receive it juat says waiting for command. Can it be done without a desktop?
I'm trying to do it from the app on my phone to my ledger (connected via BT) but won't give me the option on the app even though I downloaded it.
I update everything to the latest version but I cannot add a new account. I get the message that tells me to read the article.

Why there is no tag in hashpack wallet when trying to send?
I’m still having problems adding the HBAR account to my ledger, it’s saying I still have to go through hashpack. All my ‘software updates’ on ledger are upto date etc what could be the problem ?

oleg, Is the Account ID the public key when transfering to ledger or an exchange to hashpack?
yes, if it's the first time sending to it I suggest always send a small amount just to test it out

Not for me, but I see a lot of comments under this video where everyone is saying they don't have that. If I can find out why I might create an update, but it's hard to debug when it works for me all the time.

Hi Kelvin, you just have to take your Ledger wallet address and use send to send it to your hot wallet and then you should be able to stake from there

I can get as far as select 'webhid' but then when i click on it, it says in red 'Error: TransportOpenUserCancelled: navigator.hid is not supported'

Hi Oleg, hope you are fine, not sure if you can advise me, I sent from my ledger live HBAR back to HashPack but I missed 1 digit, I can see the wrong account I sent it to in Hash Scan is there any way I can have it back in my hash pack account without the missing digit, for example, the correct i.d account is say 123456 but I can see it in Hash Scan with 12346. I missed the 5, what do you think?
Hey Charles, ohhhh sorry man you can't do anything now, it's either on a dead address or someone else's address and there is nothing you can do, that's why it's best to always use copy or QR code and always double check before you send. Hope it wasn't a lot...

if you setup exactly like the video shows, your seed phrase is your ledger seed phrase
My ledger is on update 2.49.0 I believe. It still tells me I have to make an haspack account first. I wait until it lets me do it directly from the ledger I guess.
for me the same, strange because it should work like Oleg says so.... i have 2.49.2
That is weird... a couple of things I can think of.. make sure you have your Ledger live updated, hedera app updated and ledger firmware updated to the latest versions. Also try it from two entry points:
1. From My ledger on side menu then find hedera and Add account (just like in the video)
2. From going to Accounts side menu and do Add account there
I don't like that warning though that says that Hedera Address cannot be confirmed by Ledger so I would send a small amount first just to test it out, in case you are able to add

I'm in Canada we can't just connect it right through Ledger still got to do the hash pack bulshit and it still doesn't work for me Ledger will only let me install hadera but not add the account it forces me to go read their 26 step instruction list which I do and I stepped 14 it says add the account won't I can't add the account cuz Ledger doesn't fucking let me

Hey there, I get a bunch of these comments on this video. As I've said before it works for me all the time I try to do it but a lot of folks say it doesn't work for them. I am not sure what the reason is. I've tried some stuff and wasn't able to reproduce the issue. Unfortunately, I don't have another ledger to try it on another one. I'll still try to poke around to see if I can find the reason. Maybe I made this feature work because they are working on it and the code is there but what I did is actually a bug and not supposed to work just yet, if that makes sense. I dunno, if I find out I'll provide an update.
FYI - you can 'unblur' your QR code....completely remove it with editing software

I've watched this video so many times and in slow mo trying to get this to work. When I get to the point of about 4:15 on the video and I push the button to "create wallet" I get and error message that is telling me to "close", how do I get past this? There is no reason posted with the word "close". Any ideas. Loved the video because you explain it all so clearly, except what happens when one runs into something that doesn't flow the way it should.
Hey there! It's hard to tell what's going on there without seeing it but you can check a couple of things that I can think of:
1. If it's the very first time connecting Ledger to hashpack a step or two before you click "Get Public Key" button there should be a generic windows dialog popping up that says something like "Hashpack wants to connect to a HID device" and then your Ledger should be in the list like "Nano X" for example. You need to select your ledger and click Connect
2. When you go through the process make sure you have Hedera app open on your Ledger, if not open it and keep it open

Either this guy is lying or he has a bogus ledger account/device (I’d be worried if we’re him). Ledger does not support Hbar directly unfortunately and you need a Hashpack wallet to integrate it into ledger live.

What does the word mean at the wallet address?
I created 3 accounts via ledger an they all have a word at the end at the wallet adress…??
