I'm watching these for entertainment! I've been working my way backwards through the catalogue and I can only say that keeping up the work has paid of. I think this is nice relaxing video to watch but the newer ones are phenomenal!
i think at the end of the tutorials, you should do a firing demo. Keep up the great videos!
And more before/after comparison
Like a before mod FPS & rate of fire vs after mod FPS & rate of fire change

18:50 ... as for showing your face during these kinds of videos. IMHO if you're explaining something that isn't easy to see inside the blaster or something arbitrary regarding a related feature or topic, it's often nice to see your face because it adds texture to the explanation or description. You can often understand what a person is thinking without them saying a thing. Just by looking at someone you can often tell exactly what's on their mind, especially if you know them or often see them in a similar role or function. That being the case, I would suggest that perhaps seeing someone's face while they explain or describe something, often makes it easier to understand.
Just finished, other than some of the wiring instruction missing from the video, this was very easy to follow and execute. Much easier to mod than the Nemesis was. Now I can't wait to pummel the guys in the office tomorrow!!! Thank you sir!!
BTW, all your parts fit like a glove, excellent job!
Glad it worked out for you, and good luck at the office game!
For anybody looking for the brown wire, here is where it went:
Pull the brown wire to the front of the blaster and add to the negative bundle. You can cut the wire a lot shorter after you pull it to the front.
Thank you so much. Totally freaked out when I noticed this halfway through soldering.
Is this possible to do even if you don't swap for a lipo? I'm basically only switching my triggers but not sure if the brown wire would still be able to be added to that negative bundle in the front.
You deserve soo much more credit for what you do you own and have a RUclips channel that's 1 honest and 2 awesome you do mod guides whilst owning a online shop and having to talk to customers file orders and ship products and 3d print them and they're affordable too ,that's as much as I know but love the videos and the hard work and convenience for others you put in the hobby your truly a good person
Missing info: Solder the brown wire with the orange wire to the same terminal on the switch! If you don't do this, the belt can run without the flywheel running, and my belt starting running backwards! This should be in the wiring diagram, too.
First off I love your quality of film and your tutorials. I don't think you need faceshots. Blaster focused is perfect. Wiring diagram was great.
I've been following for along time. Your 3d printing/design has come a long ways. You mentioned potentially streaming...tutorials or streams on creating your objects in 3d software would be my vote.
Thanks for your dedication to film quality and rival line. Enjoi
I dropped my perces on the tile in my house. And the flywheels now go faster. I broke the blaster in a good way
Weird maybe you broke some friction piece
It's like Handsome Squidward.
I dropped mine and now one if the flywheel’s won’t spin
Meet the Engineer
I have never modded a blaster before and after watching this I may try this out. Great video, easy to follow and inspiring. Thanks!
This video is AWESOME! Thank you!
I like how you throw away the ultra dart.
This video in particular I believe is still 100% usable, you're clear enough with your words that you bridge the gap of what might be slightly out of focus; But just in case you forget to so literally point out what you're talking about, the only thing I can think of to improve this style of vid would be an occasional close-up still photo of what you're currently addressing. This way you don't have to worry about what may be too small or out of focus in frame on camera.
Thank you very much for these vids though, it's certainly a lot less scary than trying to figure this kind of thing out myself.
Spot on and great wiring diagram. I think your triggers are a clear step above to the originals. Thank you very much for this.
@TonyMegadeth figured it out. Pull the brown wire back to the front of the blaster and add to the negative bundle. You can cut the wire a lot shorter after you pull it to the front.
The Bob Ross of Nerf modding! Happy little solder joints!

Your hopper design for the Perses was the final deciding factor for me to buy 5 of these so everyone in the family will have a Perses for Christmas along with a spare, hahaha. I'll hopefully be ordering the hoppers for four of them in January and then the full mod kit for mine in February, lol.
Man, I love the frame of that thing! I could definitely see trying to mod it like a Longstrike and make an awesome looking sniper rifle out of it for costuming purposes.
Great mod guide, as usual. As succinct as possible, considering the complexity of the wiring and the great mod options that are worth going through. I especially like the fact that you've retained the ability to use the stock battery to allow a direct comparison of performance between the lipo and stock battery. As usual, your switch mounts are totally worth getting as they make the mod so much easier. This is based on my experience using your switch mounts on the nemesis mod.
Awsome my guide/tutorial I absolutely love all of your tutorials. And even though I did not have this guide to mod my first couple of perses, I absolutely love seeing how others mod their blasters because often is it that I find a better way to do something in a mod especially with your mod guides. Also as for video taping your face especially when giving descriptions toward how to do certain things I think it is a great idea. Thanks for the great video.
Recently had to fix a broken main trigger and was so easy to just remove a spring for the lock - thanks again Luke!
Great tutorial, I found the close up shots of how all the pieces fit back together helpful. Didnt take enough before photos when I opened mine up lol!
Can't wait to do this mod. Great stuff Luke!
Yes, I like the switch between blaster and face. There are so many hands and voice only mod tutorials
Just finished the mod man and it worked perfectly. Definitely my favorite mod so far!!! Thanks Luke for all you do!!!!
Hey could I put a 3s in there without doing any internal work besides replacing the battery tray?
@@billiejeanthejellybean2536, it might work for a little but the stock switch and wiring would burn out pretty quickly.
Thanks for the feedback
I’m not a nerf guy so I don’t think I’ll ever do a blaster mod but I still love watching all your mod tutorial videos maybe in the future I’ll try moding a blaster with the help of your videos. All your videos are awesome keep up the good work.
Thank you for filming this, Luke. I have two Perses waiting to get rewired for Lipo, so this is going to be an awesome resource for me.
Another top effort Luke. Really the is no real right or wrong way to what it is you are providing for us your target audience. As the blaster evolves through your hands. We the viewers do also evolve. So thank you enabling us to all push the boundaries together and also for your time in doing so. 👍
When you say you have dead nemisis from screw holes being stripped there are fixes for this. I am a 3d printer hobbiest i work a LOT with ABS and these blasters shells are made from ABS plastic i beleive or has been said by others. What you can do is get some scraficial ABS plastic and add acetone to it, it will melt and turn to goop known as ABS juice by 3d printers. You can simply put a small drop of juice into any stripped hole and let it set, it will become rock hard like the original plastic once the acetone is evaporated. Then you can simple drill the hole to size and recut the thread with a screw use small 1/6 turns then back it out clear the cut plastic then repeat till the entire thread is cut.
@@outofdarts cnc kitchen did a review recently of this type of melt in place screw ports i think you are talking about (threaded inserts). If you have enough wall thickness to put them in they are a fantastic option. You can all ways bulk it up with juice or a 3d pen to put them in.
Very nice idea, costs a small amount but way more professional and durable for reuse.
Side85Winder I just get bigger screws and thread it bigger
Who the F are giving this vid a thumbs down?!?!?! Awesome tutorial, great content as per usual!
I have to be honest- I don’t even have a Perses, but I watched this whole video, and it made me want to go buy one, get all the upgrades and do this mod! Thank you for this tutorial - it was very detailed and easy to follow. I just bought some mod materials from the OOD websites the other day, and I’m excited for doing a few mods when I get it!
PS Not that it matters, but you missed an edit at 44:35 - you start talking about the negative leads, say ‘that’s not right’ and start over.
Thank you so much for this! Once I pick up a Perses of my own, I’ll be back to this video! Definitely earned a like!
Excellent guide! really concise and clear, but with excellent explanation as to why you are doing exactly what you are doing at the time. Thanks for putting in the work to provide this content!
Do a full auto kit for the jolt plz
Thanks so much for this tutorials. My Perses is now super awesome!
But my Kronos is truly amazing!!!!
For the extra hopper space system you should add the attachment rails on top of the improved hopper
Just ordered the rest of the parts I need yesterday. I can't wait til this mod happens!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
I’ve been waiting for when you make an awesome mod guide of the nerf perses not disappointed
I completely removed the stock wiring and boards and rewired using 16g wire. It's an easy job, the most time consuming part is securing the new micro switches, takes about 15-20 minutes for that depending on how you choose to secure it. I can still use the stock battery too! So now I have a spare stock harness should my friends Perses need repairs.
Personally, I think this mod guide is perfect! Just waiting for my order from your website and I'll be modding my own.
Also, Team Blue all the way :P
I really wish your mod kit for this included the MT60 you used in this video in addition to a male/female pair of xt60s.
This video made modding my Perses incredibly simple. Very enjoyable and easy mod.
Thank you luke I just got my kit and it’s awesome
Can’t wait for that foregrip! Great video
Ur LITERALLY THE BEST NERFER EVER
Overall I like your tutorial a lot, and I think it was pretty easy to follow. But at no point during the video did you say what each upgrade did to the overall functionality of the blaster. It would have been nice if you explained why each upgrade was being implemented. It seems like the only improvement to the working of the blaster is the upgraded battery. Why were the switches changed? Would the original switches fail under increased power?
Steve White the last question I also had. He should answer that one, but if you look you can find answers to the other ones in the video.
@@liondave1799 the original switches aren’t rated for lipos and they may burn out and will overall be less efficient than Omrons
Hi Luke!! I know the Hades is a bit of an old blaster, but It'd be cool to have a mod guide for that blaster too!
@@outofdarts I can't wait!
Face view is good, shows how to stay calm when something goes wrong after 30 screws later both halves are together and nothing works. 😅. Just put it in the top right corner except for when you don’t want to block out a certain thing
Great vid, thanks Luke! How do you decide if/when to retain stock switches and use a mosfet?
Sweet! Thanks for the mod guide Luke!
this is a great totorial well done luke
The video skips ahead at the 42:40 mark. What is the thick black wire coming out of the yellow XT90?! So confusing! Thanks!
My blaster’s flayed out in front of me and I’m lost too! I think it’s a black wire soldered to the battery connector port with heat shrink over it
Thanks for this! Although I don't have a Perses right now, I'll definitely be modding it when I do get one.
Loadout: FoamThrower
Primary: Perses
Backup: Jupiter
You secondard should cover a different aspect to your primary. Other wise there is no point to carrying it because better ammo management would have the same effect and just carrying more ammo.
Example would be say a Caliburn and a stryfe or grass snake. So you have a single shot sniper and a high dps side arm for close range.
Not always. if you're trying to back up in case of a failure or depending on method of carry drawing a backup can be quicker than reloading... what you said is also a valid reason, but it is not the only reasoning for secondary choice.
@@EVIL_Adventures21 all of the reviewers have said they have never had a jam or malfunction with the perses. So if you ran out of battery which would be very silly. Which would mean your secondary should be a springer like a kronos.
@@Side85Winder i have had a jam with the perses. Even if i hadnt, my statement remains true. Like i said, your theory is valid, just not the only aspect to consider. Personally i like having a kronos on me as well, but i would totally rock a jupiter too. My endwar loadout this past year was a stryfe primary, dual thigh holstered hammershots and a rapidstrike on my backpack.
Side85Winder also: how to be banned from nerf matches
I've watched a few of your videos now. This is the one that got me to subscribe.
Can you do a fully modified pierces like a giveaway or something like that
cause I want to try it out I only have a Hypnos and Artemis so I’m going to be hoping you answer my comment😀
Great video, highly appreciated, but where did the brown wire disappear to by the trigger switch 42:38??
I had the same question. If we don't need to use that little brown wire, you might add it to the description on your website. It definitely goes to the pusher motor but I don't see anywhere that you end up using it.
^^
Could you upload the diagram to imgur for easy use?
Need a few more parts and I can finally start working on mine.
Perfect video Luke you are a credit to her Hobby
this video helped me fix my blaster thank you so much
Happy thanksgiving!
Hey Luke ! Love the vids brutha!! I waited til the stroke of midnight - went to Walmarts website where (as i had hoped ) the Perses was half off! So i ordered 2 and then immediately went to your site and ordered my OoD hopper mod! So happy!! Ive started a new nerf/foam battle league called BaseBlasters w/ my family and friends . Its a different style game play w/ a focus on making it like a live video game + role playing game -adding things like battle spell cards:)! that allow for wacky things like freezing enemys and stealing weapons :) just letting you know the hobby is growing new branches and offshoots -thanks for all you do!!
You have lots of great mods..just wish you had a low profile foregrip..like the air soft one I add to my grandsons..nothing like the chunky ones thats out there..downfall was the rail was slightly smaller..so I had to glue it in place..wish you had something similar
Thanks so much for this excellent tutorial! Definitely going to be put to good use in the future.
Nice thanx. Lost my factory batt haven't seen able to use it. 😢
I had a question about using the modded switches, my perses recently had a rev trigger malfunction where the blaster only revs occasionally when pressing the button. Looked to see inside and no parts were broken but just can't seem to get the flywheels to rev as regularly as they used to. Would adding these new switches fix the problem?
It does sound like the switch or some of the wiring might be the problem, so I would start with replacing the switches.
@@outofdarts thanks for the quick reply! I'll go through the rest of your guide to see if that's something I can handle myself
Hey Luke great mod guide but I don’t think you covered what kind of switch you put on.
does anyone know how to put back together the battery mechanism?
Send us an email and we might be able to help! orders@outofdarts.com
Hi Luke!
Have you ever thought about modifying infinus?
That might be a challenge
I would like to see a mod guide for the takedown and charger!
Recently, I heavily modified both my Chargers and my Takedown.
in the past i've had rival flywheels break off their motor shafts when running 3s on my Khaos, and even with a stock Nemesis. do you think you will ever make aftermarket flywheels for rival that will not do this?
I’m not a professional on this but I don’t think anyone makes after market rival wheels but I would use epoxy to glue them on but and the motor shafts a little so the glue has a surface to stick to
There are flywheel to replace that are on thingaverse and you can use acetone to melt the broken flywheel back , but just a drop in the bored out hole
hey Luke i bought your book and have succesfully modded a nerf Kronos with it.
I really like the gun, and i love the Perses but don't have one.
I wish you wouldn't have skipped forward at 42:41 because I am kinda having a hard time figuring out everything you did there. All of a sudden there's wires on the xt60 and everything on the left has already been taped and bundled. I think I understand but not totally %100.
Nice video awesome
Awesome Stuff M8!!
You YEETED the dart
In my opinion the only thing that needs to be modded about is is the hopper since it has some feeding issues but everything else is fine unless u want to run a lipo instead of the stock battery (NiMH)
great tutorial... firing demo afterwards though?
Awesome mod guide 🤘🏻❤️🤘🏻
Please help, I have several perses that won't feed balls with the track, I just keep hearing what sounds like a clutch when I pull the trigger on all of them. I've looked everywhere for help
How. Do you put on the hopper
Hi! We have an install guide specifically for the hopper with this video here! ruclips.net/video/7Hcoxm_KEgs/видео.html
Is it actually necessary to clip the safety? I don't really care if it keeps the functionality, but i do want to keep the clicky lever. first time modder here, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Am I the only one confused by the jump cut at 42:39 where suddenly the XT60 has been wired, and who knows what else? What happened between finishing the trigger switch soldering at 42:38 and where the video picks up again at 42:40, Luke? 🤔
@@outofdarts OK, thanks for replying. 👍🏻
@@Black_Francisthree years later, did you ever figure it out
can u make a guide on how to fix the rival perses or smth
I am confused what all these terms are can someine help me out
What did you do with the last wire that was by the trigger switch?
Any chance that you will release a sight rail for this gun?
That could look like your hopper mod with a rail added, or the jam door with a rail.
I love my tactics so that would be hype for me. I love that this blaster already comes with a grip/laser rail
Can you make a PWM tutorial pleasee !
YES
I have a dead Apollo, it was the second blaster I tried to mod
Hey bro, could you make a prometheus mod guide?
I'm pretty sure what isn't clear to me is 90% due to lack of practice. But that's why I'll be doing the mod with others around who have more practice. Thank you for the video, I know it will help me.
Where is the best place to put the battery alarm? or did I just miss that because I was distracted?
The LiPo alarm just plugs directly into the battery and rests in the compartment alongside it.
@@outofdarts oh, I didn't realize that. Thank you!
Hanging a light-colored fabric advert panel behind you might look better.
Well done luke just one request could u change the front nose of the hopper maybe mk the angle the exact opposite of the rear of the hopper it would look amazing you lose maybe 20 round capacity but I think it would be a top seller
Thanks for all the hard work, you the best! And also, love your shop, was wondering if there is any front grip replacement for dart zone pro MK-I from your shop that you recommend, thanks again.
Also I would love the wiring diagram to be uploaded somewhere as well. And showing every step in your videos is great as well, not just for avid models but new comers as well.
Hey, do you maybe think you could make a Perses jam door button replacement because I’ve seen a lot of things where the button plastic snaps, which happened to mine, and it’s kinda annoying because when you rev the Perses the door likes to slide open and I don’t think superglue will work, so that’s just an idea from me if you don’t want to that’s ok
Wtf y do I always wake up with an out of darts video on
Is there a way that I can get you to do this for me??😅
It looks a little complicated
Can you show us more of the wiring process
Hi I love 💗 your videos
