Very clean...great idea. I'm going to perform this technique on my DRZ. Instead of tape to cover the yellow connector, I may squeeze some silicone inside the green connector, which will give the added benefit of waterproofing while securely holding the yellow connector in place. To reduce weight and clutter, I may remove the metal kickstand switch and wire harness and save it if I ever want reinstall back to OEM. Thanks for the great tip.
@@kuzivamukarati160 Yes I did perform this technique. I removed the whole kickstand assembly. I found some yellow connectors at Home Depot. After some slight tweeking to the yellow connector, I was able to successfully close the circuit. It's a secure tight fit, and the silicone only added to locking in the fit with the added benefit of water-proofing the connection. I could not be happier about the outcome of this technique.
I think this a bad Idea. If that jumper ever vibrates off you will be tearing your hair out trying to figure out why your bike is dead. It took me less than 5 minutes to cut the wires, solder and heat shrink with the switch going into my junk collection bin. I'll put it back if I ever sell the bike.
Help! My 2022drz400sm was stolen they took the ignition out. And all they did was use a paper clip to start it. I had it sitting for awhile until I finally got interest to fix it up. I tried there method orange and red put a paper clip in it and it starts the bike The wires sparked were the paper clip was in at what happen?
Totally agree, and you might go crazy wondering why it won't start. Cut and splice with solder and heat shrink. It takes about the same amount of time.
Luckys7evin idk off the top of my head but they’ll have them at the hardware store in the electrical department. Screenshot it and show it to someone working there. They’re used for all kinds of connections and splicing
Eric sin the green connection has 2 pins in it, the connector that I’m using is basically a metal horse shoe shaped clamp that when you touch both pins of the harness connector bridges the electrical circuit.
Eric sin thanks it doesn’t look like that anymore lol. Check my newer videos for an update and more content. This was filmed on an iPhone, new stuff is with a DSLR. If have the audio on I walk you through how and why it works.

Good video --I've watched a few others where they cut the wires
-soldered them/heat shrink..etc..THIS IS BS !! A simple connector
makes it easy...
K. Zeke Swaringen right! I was disassembling to splice and when I saw the connector pins I knew I had a waaaay easier solution hahaha.
Lost my key how can I bypass the sensors and start the bike without the key
Ochuko Ukoti this doesn’t work for that application but if you have your title and registration a locksmith or dealer can cut you a new
Put a wrench on the positive and negative on the starter and watch the magic. Definitely recommend the right way tho
Where can you get that?
james silver hardware store
what is the connector called

Why not just tape it ?
How is this bridging anything?

Ok got it, hard to tell from vid, great looking bike too
