      Michael Beeny While they do enjoy making this content, it isn't just for fun. Not only does the business have expenses but the people have to support their families. Of course they have sponsors. While a donation or viewer supported system can work for some, for others it makes sense to get sponsors. It is absurd that anyone would criticize them for this.
      Go try doing this full time with no other source of income and I bet your tune will change.

    Well if you are into bright flashlights then you will love "TrustFire" Rechargeable Lithium Batteries for sure, and the conciseness out there is they are under rated when compared to any thing else. As for a charger I would go for the NiteCore Intellicharge i4 Universal Automatic Battery Smart-Charger. This is the best that I can find that is available now.

    I purchased a Pentax K2000 DSLR back in 2009. I chose the Pentax partly because it uses AA batteries. I had nothing but trouble with all AA batteries I tried. Wasn't able to use the camera till 2012 when I discovered eneloop batteries. They work great and salvaged my camera. Four packs can be bought on eBay for about $10.

    Should have mentioned that modern 'precharged' nimh batteries are actually hybrids, and will retain their charge for a much longer period (say a year instead of a month) than the old traditional nimh cells. Which is essential for things that sit around a lot and you need them to be ready at a moment's notice.

    MaHa PowereEX batteries come in 2700 mAh (AA, C, D...etc.). How are the Sanyo Enoloops "the best"?? Not sure how many cycles the PowerEX AA are rated for though. Is this where the Sanyo's beat the PowerEx??

    I guess where the Sanyo Enoloops 2000 mAh beat the MaHa PowerEx is in the rated charge cycles. I did a Google search on this and some one claims PowerEx 2700 mAh are rated at "only" 500 cycles....where as Enoloops are rated for 1000-1500 cycles. Never tried them.

    im planing on putting the pro version in my portable charger that takes two AA but the standard is 1.5v (1500) and the so two standard wont charge a cell battery rated at 3.8v but seeing that these batteries are rated at 2,5v (2550mah) so two of these would roughly a little more then 5v do you think this will work am i correct about this because the portable charge was store bought and says output 5v but two standards are not enough.right?

    The return on investment for rechargeable batteries in tv remotes is just not realistic. I buy 8 pack AA or AAA batteries at the $1 store and they last a year in a tv remote. WII and Xbox have their own power packs. Just dont see. The value of a $70 charger and $5 per battery.

      I've purchased a 12 pack of these and it is definitely a great alternative solution to the xbox one battery pack. When they die I can pop in a charged set with no wait. Perfect! They last a long time too!

    • @PeugeotRocket
      @PeugeotRocket 7 лет назад +1

      Cody Smith Honestly, either is a fine choice. The charge kit is great if you want pure convenience and you remember to put the controllers in the charging cradle but rechargeable batteries are great for quick swapping if you have a ton of batteries sitting around. Personally, I use both. I often forget to put my controllers in the cradle so I always have a fallback.

    • @PeugeotRocket

      Cody Smith Good to know. Honestly, I'm here because I'm looking to upgrade all my rechargeables from Energizer to something better. Eneloop seems to be the most recommended so I think I will go that route. I'll probably go with the Pro variant.

    • @TheCodesterr
      @TheCodesterr 7 лет назад

      Do it. You won't regret it. I used to have energizer, but they always seemed to fail me. Never had an issue with these. They last so long with my controllers. And I'm sure with any type of Eneloop, you won't go wrong.

  • @Prey521

    No, the chemicals in a rechargeable battery are the bottleneck at 1.2v. You don't need more than that for rechargeable's anyway.

    There are 3200mAh AA type uniross batteries

  • @VintageCars999
    @VintageCars999 9 лет назад

    Eneloops are the best. Now they got 2100 cycle ones that are ridiculously amazing. They might as well say how many years they will last because not many people will go through all 2100 cycles within a proper time frame. I haven't even reached my full cycles on my Duracell batteries yet. Which by the way i think Energizer has designed their batteries better, the 2500mAh they sold in 2005 are really bad, they are giving out no matter how long i leave them trickle charging in a smart charger.
    By the way i recommend Maha or LaCrosse for smart chargers. If you see NLee, check his reviews on Amazon.com.

    • @astrangeone
      @astrangeone 9 лет назад

      Whispered X I bought the energizer ones in university (for powering a camera and an intimate toy). Seriously sucks - I just dropped some cash into a LaCross charger and one of them died already. It's not even 4 years into buying them.
      I just bought some eneloops with the spacers (to add to my growing list of stuff/remotes). I bought Amazon Basics ones before, and they make me happy...

    • @VintageCars999
      @VintageCars999 9 лет назад

      astrangeone what was the manufacture date on them? And did you always use a smart charger for the Energizers? If you used the Energizer charger most likely the cells got overcharged. It's also possible that your cells got overdischarged which eats up cycles like crazy. I do know that the 2300mAh Energizers are a bit more slimmer than the Eneloops so they most likely have less cycles than Duracells or Eneloops for that matter, the Eneloops Pros have 500 cycles which on average you'd probably get 200 recharges on them if you drain them completely.
      I actually at the time had to get Energizers because they were the only rechargeable NiMHs that would fit in my AA Minimaglite. Though i got better lights and the regular Eneloops work in that minimag. The Energizers do hold their charge well and function as intended, more than what i can say about their older 2500mAh cells which self discharge too quickly & progressively gets worse over time. I also recharge them when they get around 50% (or 1.26 volts). Never had trouble after that. I will also mention that they had to be refreshed several times before they got at least 97% of their capacity. That's one thing that is better than Eneloops except since my cells were dated Jan 2013 and i got them a year and half later, didn't run a test/refresh on them until the end of 2014 when i noticed their voltage was pretty low half way through the cycle.
      The La Crosse cells i got with the charger have ridiculous high self discharge now (the AA cells, the AAA cells work fine but suck with the capacity) but it's most likely due to me using the heck out of them to recharge my cellphone though i took poor care of my cellphone battery so i constantly had to recharge that thing. Anyway i do agree that the Energizers are not good batteries for high drain devices such as cameras. You'll probably get through most of the cycles within a few years compared to Eneloop Pros which i'm sure has double the amount of cycle usage. I just know that if i need some rechargeable cells on the spot i can pick either Duracell or Energizers and not have to worry too much about having issues with either one.
      But for all my main battery purchases, i prefer going with Eneloops or there's also the Fujitsu cells that are also good as well, reading through the review that was posted some time ago on candlepowerforums. Ironically though, despite having reduced capacity, the AAA Energizers i have, are still working after 9 years. I can get an hour on my LED Lenser T7 on high (which i think is 175 lumens). I could probably get more run time on some Eneloops (which i recently got an 8 pack of AAA's Pros), i have yet to time how long they would last in the T7 but since those cells can almost get up to 1000mAh i could probably get 2 hours out of those cells. I will switch that light to low often though so i can get several days out of the Energizers.

    • @astrangeone
      @astrangeone 9 лет назад

      Whispered X I'm guessing that it was that terrible included dumb charger with the Energizers that did 'em in. (I had one battery leaking and the other one outright die in the four pack.) Never again will I buy or use a dumb charger - so damaging to batteries.
      I recently got the LaCross charger, and it did take me about three cycles to get back the original rating on the batteries. 2430 mah - I'm surprised that they held a charge for so long.
      So far, the Amazon Basics (white ones) last pretty long in my streamlight microstream, but they also needed a couple of discharge/charge cycles to get back to their rated items. I mostly use these batteries in remotes/flashlights, so it's not a high drain device (although I should try popping them into my older camera)...

    • @VintageCars999
      @VintageCars999 9 лет назад +1

      astrangeone i can totally see why you thought it was the batteries that were the problem. Problem with the Duracell and Energizer chargers is they don't charge the cells individually. So if you got one cell that has a different capacity than the other.. one cell will either be overcharged or the other cell will be undercharged and i'm pretty sure they do this so people would have to replace their batteries within 4 years. You would probably still save on having to buy alkalines (or really alkaleaks lol) still but i go for longevity which to me if i can get 10 years out of any NimH cell it's considered a good investment.
      The other issue with dumb chargers is they'll go by voltage or have a timer and neither are very good ways of charging a NiMH cell. Having other things implemented such as heat and -dV are necessary as well. It would be nice to be able to program a cut off timer for the La Crosse charger as i do have some cells that won't properly terminate but those cells are pretty much junk anyhow, i still use those cells for low drain stuff such as remotes, clocks and wireless stuff that takes low power to use.
      It's rare for a NiMH cell to leak, they would generally vent before leaking, i don't even know what circumstances would allow a NiMH cell to leak. I've used junk chargers for quite a while and usually the cells just give out or simply have reduced capacity/performance. Most of those junk chargers will charge cells at or around 350mAh regardless if the cell have reversed charged and while that is a fairly low enough rate for most cells, any cells that have been abused may not be able to handle even that. I had a La Crosse cell heat up badly on the negative side (burning the wrapper a bit) but i think it was because that cell had repeatedly overdischarge and when i was recharging it at 500mAh it was heating up too much on the negative side of the cell.

      Billy Idol Yeah, that charger is awesome. The only thing i wish is there was a charger that would discharge the cells at a slower rate, say like 5-15mA, lowest is at 100mA which is too much for some older cells, but i have figured out a trick, just put them in a low drain device like a clock and some Duracells have jumped from 800mAh to 1500mAh, something that wasn't doing it in a flashlight or in the chargers. Usually i run those batteries through a cycle every 3 months or so. There's a set of Duracells in one of my clocks that have been working fine for 5 months! No recharge or anything considering they are high self discharge cells.
      Maha C9000 is pretty good too, has a break-in feature and is easier on Eneloop cells. It won't do much with cells that have gone up in high resistance but sometimes if the cell(s) are not too bad you could run them through a 5-10minute discharge on the La Crosse, then throw them into the C9000. I like being able to know the condition of the cells and whether they can improve.
