Tim, it is always a pleasure going along a ride in your most beautiful Honda Jet. I am busy traveling for work (writer, producer for HBO Max, Televista, and Netflix). My work drags me across the globe which explains why I likely will buy a jet. That said, the Honda Jet would be my first choice in aircraft for domestic, Central and South American travel. I am thrilled that you are working on behalf of the Wounded Warrior Network. Your content is not only entertaining, the views are soothing. Also, I watch closely how you fly your precious airplane. Thanks again.
Thank you, Sir. I appreciate the feedback. The HJ has been awesome. While it's not the end-all and be-all of private jets, it fits my specific mission very well.
Really like your videos and commentary! I appreciate all your time and effort involved with producing them. You are a special person for letting us in your life! Thank you. I look forward to watching all your videos.
Thanks Sir. That means a lot. I do nt mind the occasion troll-comment at all, it keep it entertaining. We're just sharing something that we love and that we're grateful for.
My last comment: I love the way she flies so well all the way to touchdown. My best buddy is a Navy fighter pilot and describes his landings exactly as you land your Honda Jet. The shift to idle a few seconds before maingear touchdown. What a thing of beauty.
I have been a fan of various RUclipsrs who fly everything from paramotors to Gulfstreams. Was waiting for someone to come along with a Hondajet and here you are. Glad to be a new subscriber to your channel.
I'm glad I found your channel in its infancy. It will be great to watch this grow and take off. Great content. As a Flight Test Engineer for the Army, I love watching all the data on the G3000. You can glean a lot about what the jet is doing in different phases of flight. I look forward to future content.
We really appreciate you watching...and and especially taking the time to leave a comment. As a former Army guy I'd love to hear more about your work in Army Aviation.
@@bluemaxsix I work for an Army organization that conducts flight tests on all the Army's rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. My background is in the AH-64E V6 Apache and F model Chinook supporting the warfighter. I can discuss more outside of this platform.
Really enjoying working my way through your vids, just bought the HondaJet add-on for MSFS and it's really cool seeing the fidelity of their work. Seeing you put your real jet through the paces had already taught me a lot about flying in the sim. You're doing a great job learning the youtube ropes, I love the relaxed pace and extra details that you provide, even though I know it's a ton of work editing. Hope you stick with it! And thanks for your work with veterans, my late uncle was a Marine and worked with veterans through his entire retirement.
Another good one Tim. Not easy to keep up meaningful commentary to an empty seat! Faulty pitch trim is a worry. A runaway pitch nearly brought down a heavy at LA due broken hinge.
Thanks. You're correct about the pitch trim...along with all the secondary impacts to systems. We did finally get it sorted out and the jet's been flying great. Thanks for stopping by the channel
Enjoying your vids - great job! Watching more closeups of the instrumentation would be more interesting to me. Particularly, when you make inputs or automated changes. Fly safe...
Thanks for watching. I totally agree and am looking for a good way to catch video up close. @CitationMax clips a mount to his glareshiekd but that won't really work in a HondaJet
Thanks so much for watching. I noticed that too. It seemed to changed as the sun went down. I'm guessing it's so mething about how the GoPro respond to ambient light.
They're starting to get easier, but still take a ton of time. Today we're flying to the HondaJet Owners conference in Scottsdale AZ. I'll be posting on Instagram
Thank you for donating your time to share these videos. Yours is truly beautiful plane. I've been reading and watching videos on this jet for some time (plus the msfs thing), and no one seems to discuss certain things about the small jets like the following: (1) how comfortable are the passenger seats - really, no sugar-coating comments? Can a person with average build be comfortable for a 3 or 4-hr flight? (2) What about the toilet, is it a flushing toilet with external servicing or just a potty-type? How good is the ventilation in the toilet, or does the entire cabin find out about your business once you open those sliding doors? Personally, I would tell all my passengers to go do their thing at the FBO before boarding. (3) How noisy truly is inside the cabin? It is supposed to be quieter because the engines are sitting on the pilons on the wings, reducing vibration but I believe most of the noise comes from the air mass hitting the plane than the engines so how is this noise suppressed?
I feel like we once I'm back in the US and posting videos weekly, I'll do a RUclips Live to address some of these questions...I get them a lot. But seeing as how you took the time to ask, I'll do my best for now. 1) the jet is extremely roomy and comfortable. Keep in mind that I'll NEVER Aride in the back so I pulled my wife in to help me read and respond. We can comfortably fill all 4 seats in the main cabin. The seats move away from the sides to make them even more comfortable. About 2/3s of the time, my wife will chose to ride in the back vs the copilot's seat and she loves it. I flew east coast to west coast (2 stops) and back (1 stop) and she said it was amazing. Out daughters are all very tall (5'10-6'2") and they do just fine in the back. I've never had anyone sit in the side-facing seat for more than about 10 mins to chat with me up front and my version doesn't have the belted lav so I really can't speak to those. What I can say is the HondaJet took a huge leap ahead of the VLJ market when they designed the interior for space, comfort, and noise. 2) So many questions about the lav! Again I'm at a disadvantage since I never leave my seat when we're in the air. I always encourage passenger to avail themselves to the FBO facilities but on occasion, our lav has been used with great results. It's externally serviceable (huge benefit) and seems to be well insulated/ventilated. The 2 skylights back there make a huge difference for sure. 3) Noise is relative. 1st of all I flew Apache for a career in the Army. Deafingly loud. Then I spent decades in prop planes. Seriously loud. The HondaJet is just above what I'd call 'whisper quiet'. One daughter was home and flew with me over Thanksgiving. She noticed right away how much quieter it was than anything we'd flown before. I was worried at first with no headset Jack's in the cabin but it turns out they're unnecessary. Normal conversations are possible...even back 'near' the engines. The Elite, Elite S, and soon to be Elite II all took noise attenuation even further than my APMG version of the HondaJet. It's impressive what they accomplished in reducing noise and fatigue. The Natural Laminar Flow design of the fuselage further reduces wind noise as well. OK, what else?
Not sure if you’re aware but the sound on headphones changes constantly from one channel to 2 channels depending upon what’s going on in the video from any speaking to the intro music etc.
Wait, no ADS-B in? What am I missing. How can you not have that? If this is discussed in later videos then I'll get the answer later when I catch up with the videos. :)
I know, right?! The HJs they're building now have it. I have ADS-B out and TCAS II in. But don't let me stop you from watching ALL of my videos...twice!
Yessir! I am in flight school, and we are flying 2019 Archers with G1000 Nxi's, when I fly my club planes - a couple don't have ADS-B in... it is a bit scary down here in busy FLA. My friend lent me his Foreflight ADS-B in device, but that one doesn't work with Garmin Pilot... funny since Garmin of course works with ForeFlight. Flew recently with a friend in the jump seat of a Falcon 900ex, and I saw his TCAS... I really didn't like it, especially if planes are maneuvering around us. He was IFR at 3000 taking off west from the east coast into an alert area where we do flight training, and I assume that system believes all planes will keep doing what they are doing... but that isn't so! I think there were 17 other planes within 10nm. So I don't see how you can trust TCAS in that situation. 250kts of course. :) He explained that the planes change from circles to diamonds to yellow/red diamonds, but they are practicing steeps turns, etc...
TCAS II I pretty good for traffic and with TAWS-A is fantastic for traffic and terrain avoidance. What I miss is the two-way data exchange. I use foreflight extensively and still carry a device that'll provide all of that info. Unfortunately it won't 'see through' the anti-radiation coating on the windows of the HondaJet.
Interesting on how you climb with a pitch angle. I use vnav/FLC to climb at the performance numbers determined in the box. Do you have performance plus on the Honda? I’m flying an M2/G3000 w/version 4.8, seems different than what Honda has. Enjoy the videos!
You're now called Good Eye Pete. We do have a HJ version of Performance Plus and that data is provided to the Speed Tape in the Take off/Performance Panning. Flying Pitch Attitudes is totally a hangover from being a military pilot for so many years...where it's all about AOA. Let's swap rides! I'd love to see you plane.
Catching up with your latest vids whilst cruising at FL390 between LERS (Spain) and LGSR (Greece)! My sim question for the week; I'm heavy on fuel, the POH recommends M0.618 for a LRC but that puts the aircraft well within the white 'arc' for indicated airspeed. I've upped it to M0.670 (200kts IAS / 380 TAS) to feel safer. Would you normally fly so 'slow' in the cruise? Keep up the content, really enjoying it but a shame that the 420 has had to return for fault-finding...
Interesting. I manage my W&B carefully and typically base my distances based upon the High Speed Cruise performance numbers. I do run into situations where environmental conditions won't allow me to get to the altitude I want. Example: I plan for FL430 but it's USA +15 which means I may need to stop at FL390 before going to FL410 as a final. So far my performance has been really accurate and the jet monitors it closely. I did hear from another pkoot recently who was held at lower altitudes way too long and he knew he wasn't going to have fuel to his destination, so he pulled the power back for Economy Cruise. I haven't had that situation yet but I do plan for it. What I watch for on speed is mainly VNE/MME. 270 KIAS or .72 Mach. I wind up pulling the power back in many situations to stay below the max allowable speed. When at or below 95% N1, level, and in Auto Pilot, I use the CSC function. That really helps not blowing through the speed limitations.
Have you tried using lens filters on the camera focused on the g3000? I fly a Cirrus with a g1000 and put a filter on my GoPro and never see flickering. Second, what kind of cameras are you using ?
Thanks. Good suggestion. I have 3 gopro 9s, 1 gopro 10, and 1 360 Max. I also noticed that the issue goes away when I'm filming in low light or darkness. So maybe it's a gopro issue. When you say G1000. Is it a NXI version? My G3000 doesn't have the faster refresh or higher screen resolution.
@@bluemaxsix I typically fly the G1000/NXI perspective plus but I have tested using a g1000 perspective as well. One thing that may make a difference is that I record in 1080p to make the batteries last longer for daytime settings. For the flicker seen on the display screens, change the "fps = Frames Per Seconds" in your video setting of your camera equipment.
