Tito could flat out box, he did hit Vargas with a few blows on the belt but not below the belt in the groin area. Low blows happen in a fight, your trying to throw a gut shot and your crouched down. Yeah you might hit the guy low, but what Tito did to Vargas he did to Compas, just simply beat him. Vargas was busted on several occasions for Steroids and so was Roy Jones for that matter. This fight changed the entire career of this great fighter. Vargas was a phenomenal talent before this fight. Though he did fight valiantly, I believe he wasn’t ready yet for Tito. They should’ve take a couple of more competitive fights before taking on Tito. This fight took a toll on him physically. He was never the same after this fight and Vargas, he was a very gifted fighter. He had a great career but he would’ve been special if it wasn’t for this.

This was a classic fight. Down twice in the first, Vargas did come back and carried on. To compare those two knockdowns to the knockdown of Tito however is ridiculous. Tito was nowhere near in the trouble Vargas was. Both have amazing chins, and Tito has proven his many times, coming back again and again. True, Vargas can take a punch, but as the fight wore on, it was Tito and his superior skill and experience that finally wore Vargas down. I saw this fight live on PPV. I was rooting for vargas , but man he went in not respecting Tito's power and paid the price quickly. La oportunidad de Vargas de ganar la pelea estuvo en el round 4, cuando noqueo a Tito, pero el boricua no se si inteligentemente o maliciosamente Tito le dio e golpe bajo y detuvo el ataque de Vargas por 2 o 3 minutos!
Eso son cosas que pasan, el golpe pudo ver sido sin ninguna intención, pero aún así la oportunidad de ganar en el cuarto round era mínima, ya que cuando vergas lo tumbó, el rápido que Trinidad se levantó el rápido se lanzó encima de Trinidad y no consiguió nada, en cambio en el primer round Trinidad lo tumbó dos veces y lo Mareo con primer golpe y aún así Trinidad no pudo conseguir la victoria en el primer round

I saw this fight live on PPV. I was rooting for vargas , but man he went in not respecting Tito's power and paid the price quickly. But Vargas's head movement was amazing, the way he would just sway back enough to avoid tito's deadly hooks. And he almost had Tito out, but Tito had to resort to dirty tactics to ensure survival. Smart, but had he not balled Vargas, Vargas may have been able to finish him. Vargas showed amazing heart and grit, but think had he gone in smart from the getgo, he may have beaten Tito.
