One of the best ring walks of all time. You can feel and see the love and pride Tito had for Puerto Rico. Dang I wish he won that fight.
That’s badass how he stayed in NY through the whole 9-11 situation and never went home until the fight happened over a month later. Loved the respect he and his pops paid the the NYPD and NY firefighters. This mexican loves you for that.
    MUCH RESPECT

Lindsey B Im a huge boxing fan since the early 80’s. I’ve seen how fans reacted to Chavez and those were incredible. But this entrance was nothing like those. With the 9-11 situation just happened and him at his heights of popularity plus him and his dad showing the upmost respect for the NY firefighters and police. It makes for the best entrance ever.

    • @fightsforrights
      @fightsforrights 2 года назад +1

@@stuka80 Well if that was true then Mike Tyson would have low numbers as well but he is recognized by even this new generation. It just seems like the Puerto Ricans really loved before but have forgotten about him intirely and it could be because of the loss to Bernard Hopkins. I tell everybody who listens that Hopkins was unbeatable at that time. Donk King messed up Trinidad,s career. I was thinking at the time why wasn't the fight postponed since he was helping out the 911 victims.

    • @stuka80
      @stuka80 2 года назад

@@fightsforrights Your comparison is flawed. 2 things you already know is that Tyson is first of all American and second, he's a global celebrity that have long ago transcended the boxing world. Of course he's going to be more popular overall than Tito. But i guarantee you Tito is far more loved and popular with Puerto Ricans than Tyson is.
Pacquiao for example, is a god among Filipinos but he only has 7 million followers and i bet you half of that aren't even Filipinos because Pac is popular all over the world, despite the fact that there are 110 million Filipinos. That would be less than 3% of total Filipinos follow Pac on Instagram so going by that number, seems Filipinos dont care about Pac but we know thats not true at all. So judging how popular a fighter is in his home country based on instagram followers isn't a good measure.

Ron Rollerson we will get through 2019👍 I will post this story every year 20_ _ because its Powerful 👍
I had to edit two storys so I don't scare people but this is a serious an sad reality
Former Temple big man Ron Rollerson, having lost a leg, finds a new sport
    Posted: May 24, 2018 -
The dream came first in the hospital. Ron Rollerson was playing in a basketball game. He was his old self - he still had two legs. His dream changed up history. His Temple Owls were playing Seton Hall in the NCAA tournament. Temple fans with a memory to 2000 will cringe, going straight to a day that derailed maybe the Owls' best shot at the Final Four under John Chaney.
In this recurring dream, Rollerson comes off the bench to help save the day. He is the hero. Temple moves on to glory.
    RELATED STORIES
Olympic hopeful Thelma Davies is outrunning opponents, even a mysterious rash
Did Rollerson's subconscious pick this most memorable basketball game as a hinge point for Rollerson's own life? The dream, Rollerson can tell you, doesn't begin to capture all that went through his brain the last two years, since a serious decline of health in his Left leg;" in 2016 took both his left leg and the life he'd known.
"Forget trying to walk a mile in my shoes. Most of y'all couldn't do 5 steps,'' Rollerson told the world last year on Facebook. "Now spend a day wandering around in my mind."
Rage and despair, the worst kinds of thoughts, they all moved through. Suicidal thoughts crept in. How couldn't all the thoughts?
You wake up after 11 days in a coma - you assumed it was just the day after you went to the hospital until your family sets you straight - and you find out they hadn't been sure you'd wake up at all. And the big news they have to tell you: They've taken your left leg. You're partially blind in one eye.
Eventually, only four toes are left on your remaining leg, the one that had been your bad leg your whole hoops career, which included overseas journeys and almost two years with the Harlem Globetrotters and a near-miss trial with the Sixers. You don't stand for eight months. You blurt out online: "Patiently waiting for my turn on a blessing."
Your basic decency, a trait that was always as noticeable as your massive frame and nimble mind, isn't always enough. An artificial leg is sometimes the least of your adjustments.
As you're trying for your footing in this new world, an old basketball trainer from your teenage years says, "Weren't you a swimmer before you were a ballplayer?"
    Almost heaven in the water
In the back of the workout place in Cherry Hill, there was a swimming pool with four lanes, two swimmers in the pool. Rollerson moved from his wheelchair to a chair that would slowly drop him in the water. The swimmers saw him in the chair and, without speaking, switched lanes to free up the lane by the chair. Ted Davis Jr. hit a button, and Rollerson lowered until his right foot touched the pool bottom. "It's a little chilly,'' Rollerson noted on this recent Sunday morning.
Davis, who used to help Rollerson with hoops, swam to the other end using freestyle strokes. Under the water Rollerson went, his arms surging out in a breaststroke, taking up practically the entire lane. For seven or eight strokes, Rollerson's head stayed underwater before he came up for air. Midway down the 25 meters, he veered slightly left of center until he corrected himself on his next stroke. He kicked harder to get himself all the way down, head now popping up every two or three strokes, water moving in his wake. The stroke itself, the arm movement, stayed smooth. The stroke of an athlete.
Davis mentioned Rollerson's coming up for air at different points - "You want to be more consistent."
    MIKE JENSEN / STAFF
Former Temple basketball player Ron Rollerson, whose leg was amputated in 2016, working out in a pool. He has a new goal, swimming in the 2024 Paralympics. MIKE JENSEN / Staff
Still in the water, Rollerson took big breaths. Any race, he said, is at least a year away.
"I'm still trying to get the conditioning now,'' he said.
When that happens, Davis said, watch out.
"You're three times stronger than me and you're 6-11,'' Davis added, pointing out how far down the pool Rollerson could move in a single stroke.
The stated goal is the 2024 Paralympics. The breaststroke, a grueling test for any swimmer, is the stroke least impacted by having one leg. That'll be his event.
"This is baby steps,'' Rollerson said from the pool. "Even if I don't do it, it gives me something to shoot for in my life."
    Part 2 Rehabilitation👍
Nobody in the world 🌍 wants to experience what Ron Rollerson went through 💧😢🏀 a Temple University grad a legend to me👍
Mental illness is a reality 👍 physical disability is a reality👍 no one is invincible👍
    RON'S STORY
“It’s sort of like a fraternity. You’re a family member,” Ron says. “I look forward to coming back and helping someone with my story.”
From his days on the court at Temple University to playing professional basketball for the Harlem Globetrotters, 37-year-old Ron Rollerson has always had a competitive spirit. When an aortic dissection almost took his life, Ron never stopped fighting.
By September 2016, Ron had retired from playing professional basketball and was working in construction at the University of Pennsylvania. Though he had always had high blood pressure, Ron was in generally good health and, as all signs would indicate, this Wednesday was no different than any other. As fate would have it, that Wednesday would change the course of his life forever.
At around 8 p.m., Ron was settling in for the night and watching TV when the health and my legs decline👍 After a few minutes, Ron could no longer walk and called 911. So he can get a emergency ambulance! Paramedics they save lives👍
When he arrived at the hospital, his echocardiogram (EKG) returned normal, and physicians clamored to figure out what was wrong. At that point, Ron was experiencing a horrible pain. Sweating and panicking, he noticed that some feeling had returned to his right leg, and then his left. When things started to get hazy, they rushed him into emergency surgery.
Two and a half weeks later, Ron awoke to discover that he had experienced an aortic dissection, an injury to the innermost layer of the aorta that allows blood to flow between the layers of the aortic wall, forcing the layers apart. Having been given only a 20 percent chance of survival, he had beaten the odds. However, more challenges were yet to come.
Ron arrived at Magee in December 2017 after a long battle with infections, multiple surgeries, and a hip disarticulation amputation.
“After a few days, I felt like coming to Magee was probably the best thing that happened to me. I felt like I couldn’t have had a better physical therapist [Aliah Keirsey] or occupational therapist [Mia Camhi],” Ron said. “They helped to lift my spirits, and even though it was a fight for them to get me going, they kept pushing and pushing me. I will forever be grateful to them and the nurses, CNAs and other therapists. In a lot of ways, they really saved my life.”
After three and a half weeks as an inpatient, Ron left Magee. Now a patient at Magee Riverfront Outpatient Center, Ron is making progress each day. Magee will always hold a special place in his heart, and eventually, he hopes to return to the hospital as a volunteer.
“It’s sort of like a fraternity. You’re a family member,” he said. “I look forward to coming back and helping someone with my story.”
Ron also shared his advice for those willing to listen, whether they have been through a similar experience or not.
“I would stress to anyone to cherish life because things can change, and God has a way of humbling us even though it’s not always the plan that we have,” Ron said.
Ron, however, has found a new appreciation for life through his experience.
“I have to remind myself at times that I’m fortunate to be here,” he said. “I see life as a blessing; not as a curse. Regardless of what you go through or the situation you have to overcome, adversity is adversity, and there’s always someone to help you. Magee is a testament to that.”

+Matias873 Mayweather never fought the best of the best in their prime. Pacquio did fight the best fighters of his era only he was on steroids. Leo is still young so his resume is incomplete., however Tito was the man without any of those questions.

Tito wasn't supposed to move up to fight Hopkins every Puerto Rican knows that Trinidad's father screwed Trinidad with this fight. Bernard Hopkins was supposed to move down and fight Tito at Tito's normal weight
