There's also a lesson in here how companies can avoid being scammed and that is to reply to email inquiries in an alternative manner such as Instagram or the like. Additionally it means that RUclipsrs should have a presence across multiple social media platforms with multiple ways to directly contact them. Think of this like multi-factor authentication.

Full credit to Emily here. There is a lot of hacker vigilante content on RUclips that plays to peoples hero complexes and black/white view of justice. Her comments were a refreshing take that humanises the situation. So shout out to Emily for being the real MVP of this story and all round good egg.

This is hilariously brilliant! I've watched too many scammer payback videos to count!! I can't believe the scammer didn't want his name plastered down the side in capital letters though 😂(For the record I won't be doing it again either to be fair 😂😂). Hopefully, this person learns their lesson... and we get an entertaining video. Win-Win!

I retired a while back after twenty years as a prison chaplain here in Australia. I worked with a few scammers in that time who got prison time for their efforts. But there was also a time I was the target. I got a call from a parole officer who said, "I'd like to clarify a comment you made in your recent reference for Fred Blogg's parole application." I told her that chaplains don't do references for inmates, but tell me what you've got there. It turned out that the inmate had got himself onto a computer in the education wing and did up a letterhead pretending to come from me and then written himself a glowing account of how he was a good boy. The parole office was glad she caught on to the grift before it went any further. And that young inmate and I had a rather serious chat. But no glitter was harmed in the whole event.
I love the diligent use of hold music while waiting for the final response.
Watched your videos for about 5 years now, possibly the funniest video to date, whilst tackling a real issue. Glad you've an Emily, all good men need a wise lass, to stop them doing something daft. I just hope you have reported this to the police, before they scam another company. Good work lads.

I get emails all the time for questionably free stuff in exchange for inserting an advert inside a video, so far not intended that idea as 99% of the time it's a company I've never heard of from the other side of the world often with spelling errors etc. some of that I put down to the language barrier.
Nice to see genuine video footage of what you too get up to when not making videos, I shall always be disturbed by the image of jimmy stroking Francis face from a work top! Thanks, hope the scammer realises their mistake.

Years and years ago I hand built custom bike frames. Made a frame for a guy who was so annoying to work with. A few years after I built it he brought it back to me insisting that I replace the frame on warranty. He ran it straight into a bollard, at night, on a bike path. Folded the frame and fork in half. I politely told him that the damage was not warrantied. Offered to built him a new frame and for for an excellent price. He lost his stuff on me. Told me I was a terrible frame builder and so on. Was so happy to send him away with his bent metal under his arm. Have no use for scamming b--stards.

It is good that the police had been informed because I am actually quite surprised by the purchase of skedaddle; for scamming a scammer, I think sending junk items is "kind" enough, but sending a new one feels extravagant. Nevertheless, it was entertaining! Kudos to you guys, Elves and SJ.

That was a lot of pretty good build up with a HUGE anti-climax at the end of it. Using a really lame cop out as a reason to just end it. Very disappointing. You almost nailed it.
