The claimed 140db horn is hilarious. For comparison, 140db is like a shotgun firing right next to your ear. The 300db siren... well, that's the estimated volume of the explosion of Krakatoa, the loudest sound ever, which was literally heard all around the world. This little electronic buzzer doesn't quite match that, I would say.
@@rasmuswi I think it's pretty theoretical, obviously nobody was there at the time with a sound meter. The other important thing to know about the decibel scale is that it's exponential: an increase of 10db actually represents *multiplying* the sound energy by ten. So 110db is not 10% louder than 100db, it's ten TIMES louder than 100db... and 120db is a hundred times louder than 100db.
I bought my daily rider (an old Orbea Asphalt with super aggressive frame geometry) used from an old man that had one of these extensions installed ON TOP of a steerer tube that hadn't been cut. |Bike looked absolutely bloody ridiculous before I took it off.
Those bar inner things are the exact ones i have and they help a lot on long rides by providing a different position. Actually, the letters for L and R are for if you were to mount them as bar ends.
I have the exact same ones, and yep, had to swap L and R! But they've been really good, at least for the price. (Not amazing overall otherwise but I like them)
The original ones are called Spirgrips and those have L and R on the correct sides(inverse of this knock-off version). Sqlab used to sell these before they released their own version of inner bar ends which are slightly different.
I also use similar Spirgrips knock-offs and find myself using them for 90%+ of the time. They give you a hand position that is similar to being on the hoods of a drop bar without the cost of a handlebar conversion on your bike. I may do a proper conversion in the future, but for now they work fine for me.
I bought the duckie to put on my bike for a week long fun ride. So cute! But . . . On the first day, the propeller blew off. I would suggest a drop of super glue on the shaft before riding.
the inner bar you need to put them way closer to the center, it's actualy pretty nice for bikepacking, giving you a other hand position on your flatbar, a position kinda ergonomic and kinda more aero, very usefull and you can find way nicer set (even carbon one )
They installed them correctly. By having the inner bar ends outside of the brakes you are able to reach the levers with your ring and pinky fingers. However, the bar on which they installed them is too wide so the inner bar ends didn't end up at shoulder width.
Ha! I watched this video yesterday and now I’m sitting in an Uber in Krakow Poland, and one of those ducks is hanging from his rear view mirror. Too funny.
A horn cannot produce a sound level of 300dB. Above 191dB you have a shock wave. I don't think a cheap bit of plastic tat will survive creating a shock wave.
8:47 I think that that bell would be louder when attached to a metal bar than when you're holding it as your hand has more damping that the metal bar does and the metal bar with 'ting' as well. It also has a larger radiating surface.
Thanks, I get grief from people if I do not use a bell, and I get grief if I do use one, but get most grief from using a loud bell. A relatively quiet non aggressive ping works best for me, but many walkers have hearing problems, and many have earbuds/headphones.
another great video, after recently watching a 15min GCN video it is amazing how much more engaging and exciting your videos are. Keep up the good work!
Steering tube extensions are fine. Used them multiple times on S/H bikes that have been stupidly slammed, and raise the cockpit back to sensible proportions.
Had Jimmi fell off his bike with the " stack extender" you were close by the RVI's A & E ! Still have my ball bag from a joke secret santa 🤶! Fun video gents ! 👏
Agnieszka!? Surprised to see you here. While I haven't tried the tampon saddle, my gut feeling is that it's just a chamois sewn onto a bag and the installed it inside out, which is why it's so visible. I don't think it is such a terrible idea for a commuter bike, if you don't want to wear bibs to the office.
@@Frostbiker Yes! Why are you surprised? I like their content. 😊 I can understand the usability appeal of the saddle cover, but personally, I would've rated the stem extender much higher.
Well, RUclips is huge so it's not very often that I recognize somebody. It's sort of like bumping into you in real life which hasn't happened so far. Now, I do agree that a stack extender is a reasonable thing to install.
300 decibels would be equal to the loudest sound ever heard in recorded history, the Krakatoa eruption. For context, sailors 64km away had their eardrums burst by the sound and people 4000km away heard the sound as gunshots
Steerer extenders are perfectly safe when used on steel or aluminum steerers and are attached more securely than the stem itself. Sometimes a person has such long legs that nobody makes a frame with enough stack.
I actually found a use case for solid tires I really like... I've got a crap bike lying around on the balcony just for zwift sessions... solid tire would be the better option for that one ;)
I used a similar stem extender on an old rigid mountain bike while turning it into a comfort ebike as a fun project during the covid shut down and it worked really good. I still ride it when not wanting to kit up to do things at my Moms some 12 miles away. Seems solid. If you (not me) ever decided to let the real boys breath at a nude bike ride, the seat chamois might work out and you could throw it in the wash for the next time. At least your saddle would be happier about it.
The Innerbar ends are knock off Spirigrips, One of the guys on Chris Halls recent Alps video was using a set, so they work for some people for alternative hand postions on longer rides.
If you fit them correctly (eg not on 800mm bars so you look like a Staffie pinching off a log.) it can give you a position similar to having brake hoods on your flat bars while still being able to cover your brakes. If you've got hand/wrist problems and can't ride drop bars Spirgrips can make a massive difference. It's not going to turn a Hybrid it a TT bike but you can tuck your elbows in and stench your back out. (Also if you have them on a Brompton It will still fold up.)

I have that electric horn, and it is MESSY when it goes off and you can't turn it off. Funny enough, if you cover the front with the palm of your hand, the sound drops really low. No need for a hammer. 😂
These videos are hilarious! Such fun content :) One thing that immediately jumped to me was the absurd amount of plastic on display. I know you are conscious about that stuff, but it still feels weird. imho

The obvious answer is that he is going deaf.Besides that, I think I want the duck.
Wasn't Krakatoa more like just below 200 db? A nuclear weapon is just over 190 db.

12:05 Jimmy must have never had to buy a cable at an airport
the seat chamois is so you don't chafe whilst riding in the nude.
I haven’t laughed so much in ages when Jimmy was trying to stop the siren 😂😂😂. Thanks guys. Name for the duck - ‘LL Cool Duck’?
Tft
He said the price was four pounds, also that's what he gave it with a hammer
I love the duck - I'd name him Nutquacker to go with the balls :)
The steerer tube extension is a pretty common sight for normal everyday bikes in Singapore.
Alternatively, people get bifolds with adjustable heights
As an added note. Almost all cargo bikes come with a satori easy-up.
@@treimargot one on my Poseidon Redwood. I really wish companies didn't cut steerer tubes 😡

Today I laughed for a world record. 😂😂 the duck's new name "Lil Jimmi" 👍🇮🇪
Unexpectedly addictive viewing. Kudos for actually giving the products the benefit of the doubt and actually testing them.

I'm thinking that the duck should be named "Goose" because with the sunglasses on it looks like Goose from Top Gun!!😂
this needs to become a series 😂❤

😂 Excellent video guys and I almost chocked on my dinner with laughter! Duck should be called Fonzie
I have the SQ Labs inner bar ends (that those ones are clearly bad rips of), and they are brilliant.
thats the best bike alarm because the alarm cant be turned off by robbers

Name it similar to the ship, the Sir David Attenborough..... Ducky McDuck Face!
I have seen the steerer tube extender, but the bike I saw it on was using two. Do like duckie that's always going to make Jimmi smile.🤞
The duck is real badass! You should call it Bastardo. 😅
Excellent!! Seeing Jimmy riding with some of those and the smile on his face...hysterical
Love the duckie and the Mandril-looking shorts!! Name the duckie 'Jimmay'
You guys are absolutely brilliant, watching this cheered me right up today. Thank you 😊
At 8:03 "Do I look like a Baboon?"
I literally spat out my tea! LOL
😂
I love the way Jimmi "handled" the alarm.
The little ducky should be called Eddy
Please make this a regular segment! BLOODY GOLD!
Like Jimmy for the bell,I literally bought the same Bell for my Road bike only to realize that it doesn't fit anywhere lol
The inner bar ends go on the otherside of the levers. Actually quite comfortable on my hybrid bike 😅
They installed them correctly. By having the inner bar ends outside of the brakes you are able to reach the levers with your ring and pinky fingers. However, the bar on which they installed them is too wide so the inner bar ends didn't end up at shoulder width.
These duckies have been going around for a while. But this one has the best outfit I have seen yet
Oh, I actually have that exact electronic horn on both my ebikes.
It's way more powerful than I had expected when I initially bought it :)

Wow. Kudos to Jimmy for actually hitting that note (G) from the bell when he hummed it🎶
Loved this, especially Jimmi chasing the alarm around with a hammer. Cheer up Jimmi. Maybe Francis should decorate his bike for Halloween! 🎃
Yes that should be a whole episode. Trick or treating on bikes all dressed up!!!!
Jimmy is such a legend lol. What an amazing addition to this channel.
I almost forgot the name - Quackie Chan 😂

I have the handlebar riser, it's great
I think Sir Quackerson will squeek if you squeeze him, an enjoyable alternative to a bell

The baboon shorts twerk in public is gold😂
Congratulations on the added landfill
