Seth, I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I went out and got a new Bmx bike at the age of 28. Cost me about 700 bucks. Didn't cheap out. I went back to the skatepark and rode for 7 hours my first day back after 6 years. I'm completely hooked again. Rode with a buddy who is 47 and we now plan to meet up every week for a ride! Seriously thanks man! Without your channel I would of never gotten interested in going back to riding. Watching you has no doubt changed my life for the better. No more days off sitting at home drinking beer playing Pubg. Skatepark time all the time. Got alot of street rides planned this summer as well. Thanks man!
"The straps loosen up a bit during long rides" You ever consider you're just dropping water weight? Lol I used to have that problem when I'd go hiking, and I tried different belts and I eventually realized that my pants weren't getting loose, I was just loosing water weight after sweating on a trail for several hours in the Florida sun. That's what happens when you're not skin and bones or solid muscle. I'm pretty skinny now, and never have that issue... just an interesting thing I learned lol Because Cobra Buckles don't get loose lol
ben.lintern yes, but if other you tubers are presented with the same challenge, I doubt many of them would kick their ass just to get that video out instead of saying that they can’t put a video out.
$5 on my mtb... so yep... Converted to single speed for ground clearance on front (free with angle grinder), decluttered cockpit and no external cables besides brakes (no shifters, because the back is actually broken at the moment, and no grips for a BMX look). Its actually a pretty capable bike, every Walmart bike I've tried, I've always destroyed on the trails within 15 minutes, or hit about a dozen too many trees to call them trailworthy (when they don't have brakes, I use shrubs and trees to slow me before dangerous descents). My Bianchi road bike is much more capable than almost any Walmart MTB... However, this Mongoose with full sus (the only non-pogo stick bike I've seen from a big box store...) is really capable of trails even during the road bike season where I was in shape and pumping out the power the whole ride. That thing shreds! The only downside is worn out slick tires (ok, I like skidding it everywhere on pavement, that and jumping stairs and small ledge drops like a BMX if they had suspension), but other than that, its pretty much golden! I bought it at a police auction for abandoned bicycles (University kids just leave their bikes sometimes, we had lots of foreign students and they couldn't be bothered to sell it for $20, they would just leave it and go back to their country without them when they graduated). So I rode that thing all over campus (no idea why, but right in front of our nice engineering buildings, we had some cool artistic ramps you could get some air safely on, then land and ride down the stairs, hit the brakes and skid it immediately into a straight away for speed and a moment to catch your breath before riding down another series of steps and into an amphitheater with alternating lengths of steps/seats, its like a BMX fan made the place!). I've seriously got my $5 worth I think!
Seth, great review. I have had the Exposure Diablo for a few years, and when MTBing use it as my sole light - on the handlebars. Never had it fall off, even in some rather painful crashes. The little plastic clamp with red rubber clips looks flimsy, but in practice I have found it hangs on fine. The only issue is on the brightest setting I am lucky to get much over an hour, but judicious dimming to lower setting (which you can do by tapping the body of the light - seriously!) can stretch it out to just under two hours.
@@bluegill5192 Well, he said dinner, so that's 30 meals. I had 2 pizza pockets for dinner last night, that was only $2.09 or something and 4 minutes of microwaving. You could honestly do it all 90 meals, but it involves: ramen, ramen, more ramen, cereal, bananas, salad eww..., chicken noodle soup or favorite, burritos, Fritos and chilli occasionally, hot dogs, PB&J, oatmeal/pancakes/homemade waffles etc. Its actually not impossible for all 90 meals, but it does require changes to my "Lazy and eat out" plans... And I probably wouldn't always have 3.5 pounds of Bacon at all times in the freezer then(I live alone, but you never know if you get super ridiculously hungry for bacon... I mean, probably not 3.5 pounds hungry, but you never know...). Probably be healthier than most of what I eat though... It would involve.. Vegetables! Ahhh!

I bought two 50$ lights online and mounted them to my bike on an extension bar with zip ties and hockey tape. It virtually looked like the 700$ lights in the video. Sidenote: Always a great job Seth!
Good honest review's. I go on really long 1000+ mile bicycle expedition tours in the U.S. Because I'm so hard on bicycle components I cruse the mountain bike, and down hill videos for reviews on bicycle gear. I've made my own panniers and a aero front basket with a wind screen out of plastic sign board like what campaign signs are made of, zip ties, and I layer the panniers in gorilla tape because they take a beating. My headlights are $1 flashlights from Walmart mounted on my basket with a hole cut through the windscreen. People all the time ask me where I bought my front basket from, their eyes usually glaze over when I tell them I made it. The components I make have lasted me years and I've forgotten how many thousands of miles. If I'm going to spend more than $300 it better be for the big three, Brakes, Wheels, Drivetrain.
I have a couple of the smaller exposure lights and have had them for 4 years and still work perfect with very little loss in run time. Considering how short the life on the cheaper lights were the exposure lights have been a good investment.
Absolutely love my exposure lights, I have tried many alternatives and they simply arn’t upto the mark. Living in the UK if I want to ride post work for roughly 5 months of the year I’m into night riding so for me they are worth the money for the extra performance reliability and company backup you get. If night riding was a novelty I did a couple of times a year rather than 4-5 times a month there’s no way I’d be spending that much
I tore my ACL for a second time(different knees) while biking on spring break this year and will need surgery this summer so I will not be biking much but the video was still fun to watch Good job Seth!
I have one of the older Topeak ratchets with fixed torque bits instead of the adjustable and really like it. The nice thing about the bits is they are just standard 1/4" hex bits, so you can easily replace them or add additional bits that are not provided in the kit. I am pretty sure the ratchet is actually made for Topeak by VIM Tools. They have the exact same head on several of their HBR series ratchets.
I absolutely love that Topeak mini tool. I've got the one without the torque adaptor, because I don't need it on the trail, but the little ratchet is just so so cool and nice to use. A standard Mini tool will usually hit on something in the vicinity - so you make half a turn, pull it out, turn it back, put it back in... Turn a bolt five rotations like this and you're furious. With the tiny ratchet, it is a matter of seconds. Need more torque? Stick the extension into the end of the handle! Genious!

Exactly. They should urgently review their clamp offering though. But there are no better bike lights overall, period. I wish I could afford them! Mind u, I rarely night ride!
I love your videos. I have been dealing with anxiety for the better part of two months. There are pretty much only two things that keep me sane. My hardtail; and your videos. Keep up the great work.
I really tried, but I COULD NOT get past the Growler Grabber without commenting. Holy crap! I am absolutely going to rock one of those on the greenway event rides here in Bentonville! That is guaranteed laughter for anyone who sees it. Now I just have to decide what sort of insanity I'm going to stick to, or write on the side of it. I was in tears with your comment about it protecting it, and then the sound effect of your cranks hitting it on every revolution. CLASSIC Seth stuff....top notch!
I just bought several things in this video (Dakine bag, Topeak tool, Bright Eyes, GoPro tripod, Trekology chair, and Scrubza) so thank you for the review!
Great video Seth! Always love your product reviews. I have both of the Exposure lights, they are incredibly bright, super high quality, and near indestructible. The floodlight has different modes that you can program to suit how long you want to ride, but I leave it on program 1, which uses a gyroscope and accelorometer to adjust the brightness automatically. As for the mounts, I agree that what is supplied with the helmet light is very inadequate. I use the gopro style mount instead, with my helmet's built-in mount, with a safety lanyard in case of a crash. This works well for me. As for the floodlight bar mount, I have had no issues with it despite several crashes. But I don't shred as hard as Alex and yourself. If you do a lot of night riding as I do, in my opinion these lights are worth the expense.
sadly, seth lives in the U.S and they don't have Halfords. from what I've seen, Carreras are better than walgooses on the most part, they have threadless headsets and disk brakes that work, they just come poorly adjusted
You can get a 615 lumen head lamp at napa auto parts store for $24. Other headlights are about 60 to 80 dollars and only have around 300 lumens. Though I've never used it for night mountain biking I have used it in the woods at night and it is extremely bright and lights everything up. I think it would be a great spotlight for Seth or any other mountain biker on youtube to test out.
I think it varies way too much, my favorite is a bare carbon fiber seat on my road bike (nicknamed the "@$$ hatchet", it also is great for opening letters and packages...). Looks menacing (do be careful when mounting dismounting, I wasn't joking about using it to open letters...), and its super light weight, even the rails are carbon fiber. I find it comfortable enough with regular padded cycling shorts. My dad hopped on my MTB and said "how do you ride that ball buster?!?" and I was like "huh? my roadbike?", nope, he was talking about my comfy MTB saddle... See, I find that one super comfy in any clothes, but apparently to him it was painful (its padded, its actually way nicer than any trash you'll find at Walmart, I find those super thick padded ones they sell under the "BELL" brand to be terrible! Some people like them...). My cousin has a massive one on his fat bike (its actually pretty good, big springs under the saddle), and one of mine had like 3 inches of hard padding and massive springs (way bigger round than my forks), and it was great for a motorized bike I'd take off-road and ramp the terraces in the field at about 30 mph all day on a walmart hard tail. So it really varies what you're doing (that seat on my motorized bike would kill and skuff up your legs if you were pedaling for a while, but I had an engine on the bike, so... No peddling needed!) What I like, depends on the use case (am I on the drops? Am I even pedaling? Is it off-road rippage? Is it casual commuting or full out racing? What am I wearing?), it even goes down to the temperature and rain! (carbon wipes off and dry, whammo! the thick ones may also become rock solid in below freezing temps...). Its all personal preference, and my skinny little butt probably isn't the same as everyone elses (also carbon fiber is slippery like ice on blue jeans, but grips licra shorts, I can barely stay on my road bike with normal pants...)
I have one of those exposure helmet mounted lights and I've actually had a great experience with them. The key is using a multi tool to really tighten down the helmet mount so it doesn't move around side to side. In reality when you're riding even the roughest terrain your lower body is moving far more than your upper body so the light doesn't ever shake or bounce out of the mount. I haven't tried the floodlight but I'd still recommend that helmet light. And it's bright as hell!
i only watched the review of the last ($$) light - wow, i almost forgot what a real review sounded/looked like. i am going to go back and check the rest of the vid out now. good stuff.
Hey Seth’s Bike Hacks, I’ve got a KILLER hack that I don’t think I’ve seen you use. When it comes to cleaning your chain/cassette, NOTHING works better than automotive brake cleaner. It literally melts the gunk right off, with little to no scrubbing. And if you get any overspray on anything it’ll actually just clean it. So no worries about getting any on your brakes, it’s actually good for them. It completely evaporates in seconds and it won’t harm the finish. And at $2 a can you really can’t beat it.
I don't do a lot of night riding, but when I do, I use a Surefire G2 attached using an Olight FB-1 universal handlebar mount. Total cost: $70. My G2 is an older model at only 300 lumens, but it easily lights up the ground 30 feet in front of me.

10 product and 10 bike hacks videos are best. ❤️
I just bought several things in this video (Dakine bag, Topeak tool, Bright Eyes, GoPro tripod, Trekology chair, and Scrubza) so thank you for the review!
Seth can you do a review for seat post suspension? Its a hardtail upgrade. Thanks!
“Spotlight to see AROUND turns”! That’s some fancy spotlight bro 🤪
Bike hack: for a chain stay protector wrap some paracord around it so you have a chain stay protector and some rope just in case you need it.
l like this one, beats wearing a paracord bracelet around your wrist, tends to shift around a lot and can be quite annoying
Nice!
Hey Seth I just started riding on trails. I'm only thirteen but your vids have motivated me to try them out and somehow I'm rlly good for a starter
You are my favourite MTB youtuber and I WANT MORE VIDEOS
Hey Seth I wanted to thank you for giving me and my little brother the idea to make a little MTB track in my back yard
How'd you convince your parents?
Why don't you test Lupine lights intead of the Exposure one's
Actually that chair looks really nice. Most lawn chairs are super bulky, and that one is tiny. Only 40 dollars sounds amazing
The dakine duffel bag was my favourite
Growler Grabber... That cracked me up. I think it would need a different name in the UK!
I thought he was about to review Trump!
Big bottle bucket?

Seth, I'm rocking Kali knee and elbow pads thanks to your recommendation and I freaking love them! Thank you so much!
Seth: Be a responsible rider
Also Seth: Drinks beer and whiskey while riding...
i got a 1600 lumen light from Bright Eyes for about $60. it seems brighter than the one you demonstrated and of course much less money.
Seth can you do a review on one of the mountain bikes in the Carrera range?
sadly, seth lives in the U.S and they don't have Halfords. from what I've seen, Carreras are better than walgooses on the most part, they have threadless headsets and disk brakes that work, they just come poorly adjusted
the sarcasm in these videos are amazing
I want to see more bmx vids if you can
Also I love your channel
Yes more bmx
Dang. New, last minute video, that's good, with all that lost content? This is why you da man.
Smeashing video :D
And rip the go pro
You can get a 615 lumen head lamp at napa auto parts store for $24. Other headlights are about 60 to 80 dollars and only have around 300 lumens. Though I've never used it for night mountain biking I have used it in the woods at night and it is extremely bright and lights everything up. I think it would be a great spotlight for Seth or any other mountain biker on youtube to test out.
World you consider making a video on bicycle seats?
No peddling needed!)
What I like, depends on the use case (am I on the drops?
"To accommodate the heft of such a vessel" damn u really out here being eloquently spoken.
i only watched the review of the last ($$) light - wow, i almost forgot what a real review sounded/looked like. i am going to go back and check the rest of the vid out now. good stuff.
Have you tried the Magicshine MONTEER 6500? It looks great.
I have a Magicshine light and it's not bad but the handlebar mount is a joke. The rubber O-ring used to hold it on broke within three months.
This best thing about the chair is the Trekology has “Trek” in the name😂
I love your videos so much and I hope you can make some more bmx videos.
Like if you want that too
Bmixer are not good anymore we want to see more videos of Electrik bikes and mountain bike also road Bikes
I was the first to like your awesome video keep up the amazing work

Good video Seth, keep it up 👍

I don't do a lot of night riding, but when I do, I use a Surefire G2 attached using an Olight FB-1 universal handlebar mount. Total cost: $70. My G2 is an older model at only 300 lumens, but it easily lights up the ground 30 feet in front of me.
