3:22 "Dude! You alright?" "NO, JUST BROKE MY ARM!" "Whaaaaa ? ...oh well" "At a bike park, you want more progression to prevent from bottoming out..." 🤣😂🤣
The idea of the MRP progression adjustment knob is awesome. I can definitely see something similar becoming available at much lower prices or even integrated into rockshox and fox forks in the near future
Hey I’ve never changed a shifter cable if I wasn’t replacing a shifter. I’ve been riding lots since the 1970’s so that’s maybe 3 times in 40 years. Why do your shifter cables stretch so much? (not talking crap;actually curious)
Was watching some of your past videos where you highlighted Lisa in Florida , it was about the 4 rules on buying a bike, what I liked the most is how you helped people not judge them that is how I sort out people to support . I am an advanced rider but am a slow rider up hill and hate to ride with people cause I don't want to hold them up.
Killer ass Livestream then this! But if you saw the Instagram post earlier then you saw this video coming??? Super clean posts today by the best out there. ✌️
Fox they are pretty solid. But still not indestructible like the gopro itself. A crash right on the gimbal can eventually break it if it has too much force.
Thanks Seth. The external mic comparisons, and image stabilisation with the gimbals, and camera comparisons are really useful to someone thinking of buying their first camera, or upgrading.
I COMPLETELY agree with the Hero 5 black and Karma Grip (and extension cable)..... I bought it all.. and RETURNED it ALL!.. haha.. in favor of the Hero 4 black and Evo ss.... MUCH BETTER ;) Unfortunately I was stuck with a bunch of footage from the Hero 5 black... but as I've cycled through to new videos with the Hero 4 and evo... the quality is just that much better!
Shout out to MRP for being a great company! They're located in Grand Junction, CO. I visited them earlier this year when I was in Moab, it was only about an hour and a half away. Reason for the visit was that I blew out my White Bros (Now MRP) Loop fork. I contacted Chris there, and he was super cool and basically said come on down. He rebuilt my fork better than new, and gave me a loaner bike to check out the lunch loop trails on while I waited. I also got a tour of the shop, which was impressive. It was very cool to see everything being made right there in CO, USA. All the chainrings, chain guides, forks, etc. They machine everything in house, even the little adjuster knobs on the forks. I saw fork uppers and lowers in various states of machining...I love stuff like that, you never think of all the work that goes into things like that. Seth, if you're still out West, they may be worth a visit.
Bikes already come with the perfect place for a tool: between the seat and handlebars. Intrigued by the ramp control cartridge. Kali helmets almost always have one awesome standout feature: Mesh in the front vents! I'm so happy to no longer catch bugs in my helmet!
Sorry for the crappy upload frequency! We did get a power outage, tons of rain, and loss of two cell towers from Irma, even all the way up here. Things did not go as planned... In other news there are still a few spots open on the trip! www.redwolftours.com/seths-bike-hacks-trip
Love having my favorite mountain bike channel moving into my neck of the woods. I get to recognize all of your locations! Hope you are loving DuPont and bent creek!
Dude thanks so much about the info on the dash cam. I've needed one of ever but haven't pulled the trigger on anything because they have all looked like trash! I good review, added to the features that you mentioned means that it will be going on my car as soon as I can gather the scratch.
+Andrew Vazquez haha that's the best compliment! I lost power and cell reception for 3 days, and the trails were a mess. Things should be back to normal now!
Thanks for providing helpful reviews by going over strengths AND weaknesses, and even comparing one product to another. Much needed and a refreshing approach!! Kudos!!
RE the oiler. I have not used that particular product but I do use middleburn oilers on one of my mtbs, similar but small aluminium oilers. They work well in the horrible muddy, wet UK winter to help prolong cable life. They are not a cure all but reduce the frequency of changing cable in a UK winter!
Hey Seth. You have inspired me to start mountain biking. I may only be 12 but I will try anyways. I am going to try and get the Diamonback Syncr 24 I much. Thanks for inspiring me, and keep doing what you do! You're the best Seth!
Hi Noah Oseguera ,i am 13. I was also inspired. How are your rides. I was kinda stunned to see someone at least close to my age. Ride safe and have fun!
Well I had a Walmart bike. Then I saved up my money and got the 24 Diamondback Sync'r. My next bike will probably be a Raleigh Tokul 24. I'd love to know yours!
Noah Oseguera get a bigger bike. 26 inch probably. But I'm 12 too, and have a 27.5 norco range A 7.2. But you can get a good deal on a 26 inch bike from a few years ago.
Wolf Tooth Components also makes products to shift the location of your water bottle cage and to let you strap more stuff to your bike. They also make a thing that turns one water bottle mount into two. I have two of them; they work really well. Plus all WTC products are made in the USA for those of us on this side of the pond.
hey man been watching for the past week and i have really been enjoying the riding videos. you have inspired me to open up my thinking about action sports and what real dedication goes into it. 100% earned a sub
@5:59 "IF you're looking for one do-everything action camera..." How about the Sena Prism Tube cam for a $119.? Looks better than a box on your head like a teletubby
Seth, I was 12 years old hadn't rode a bike I 3 years. It was the beginning of summer i begged my mom to take me to Walmart and buy me a bike. I got this 99 dollar bike, got used to it then started hiting jumps with it. That's when it fell apart, first the back brakes went and then the front ones. I replaced my grips with duct tape. Then my birthday came around and I got a Sunday bmx and a specialized hard rock. Every day I would ride, I would say about a good 5 hours each day. In the span of 3 months I got as good as my friends did in there years when I didn't ride. A lot of the form that I learned was from you so I would like to say thanks.
Hi Seth, I love my dash cam. I got it at Walmart for 9 dollars. I was just browsing after Christmas or the new year and found it sitting on the Walmart clearance shelf. I thought the worst of it after I bought it. I was worried that it was a remanufactured or it was damaged or it was the display model used too much and put out with missing pieces. I opened up the box, I noticed a magic marker line on the display screen, I was thinking that is why it was so cheap. Then I noticed that the display screen had a thin plastic cover protecting it, I removed the plastic film and the black mark was removed too! So I have a decent dash cam for 9 dollars. It can film both forward and backwards: front facing traffic and film the occupants of the vehicle at same time... Not bad for 9 dollars. I check out the Walmart closeout bargains on the clearance racks to all the time to see if I can get another AWSOME purchase.
if you consider the mrp ramp control take a look at the awk double chamber system by chickadeehill. you cant change it on the go but the fork becomes more sensitive over all and you can set up your airspring as you desire (how much travel you want to use before ramping up and how hard do you want to ramp up). it feels like a coil spring with a smooth bottom out.
You should come ride Mount Washington, BC Canada. Its a lot of fun, and crazy awesome scenery. Hundreds of animals roam the trails and there is a good chance you will come across a marmot or black bear.
Hi Seth, You're probably my favorite RUclips channel, I wish you uploaded more, BKXC and the Singletrack sampler are also one of my favorites but they seem to upload more!
Seth do you have any videos reviewing repair stands? I think we all know park tool makes excellent repair stands, but what about some other less expensive brands?
Air spring forks already ramp up stiffness as they progress through travel. That's the nature of air getting compressed, even with the simplest damper out there. The ramp control is only useful if you'd be swapping tokens often, i.e. if you require different compression settings on a regular basis.
zip ties will also slide and move around. we tend to use just the one bobbin to hold the brake cables together as these are the ones which slap around the most. on my full susser i use one to clamp the dropper post post hose to the rear brake. before this the dropper post hose would get caught up in my rocker link. there are plenty or areas to tidy up.
I think the water mark is since it’s a dash cam for insurance purposes and such. You can wire a gopro to run like some guys to for motorcycles, Thanks for the sweet video too.
Mke2 is now only 70$ and still the only way to have an external mic avnd still have a waterproof go pro. about to buy one and a refurbished hero 4 silver to start recording my fishing adventures. Looking into trail bike to get from spot to spot faster. Perfect review to stumble across.
hey Seth. thanks for your videos I am your biggest fan I watch your videos like a drug and I crave for more and I actually get literally hungry for more mtb videos. You were the one who got me in to mountain biking and I wish I could meet you. if I was given a choice of having 10 million dollars or riding with you I would chose riding. I have been going through extremely hard times and it is very hard to cope but your videos seem to just cheer me up and make me happy. I Just wanted to thank you and I wanted you to know that you have made a big positive difference in someone's life.Have an amazing life :)from lachlan
Seth i have something on my bike which are better than zipties or the bobbin , got it when i installed some new slx brakes , mechanic gave them to replace my zipties , real stealthy and practical
Hello Seth, great video. Can you start uploading more how to videos instead of just product reviews . I also really miss that kind of videos that you used to upload about crazy and fun stuff you did. That is what makes you different from other mtb you tubers and that is why you are my favorite youtuber.
Seth can you make a video showing us how you film your rides for example when you stop and setting up your camera, what you bring to go mountain biking cause i would like to shot videos like you thanks Seth
You actually can still use the Topeak saddle bag with a dropper post, you just have to stick with the small or mini size and cut off the post strap. I have ran it for years and the saddle bag has never come off the clip mount, and I am a very aggressive rider that takes huge jumps
A lot of MTB trails in GA and all FL trails are closed due to damage caused by hurricane Irma. I think it would be nice if he made a video about that. Like donation links, etc.
Struggled to make the Hero5 and the Karma viable for POV stuff. Went with wired Rode lav mic to my cell phone instead of Phil's route with the secondary GoPro. Issue there is it only picks up my audio (very well) but no real ambient audio or conversation. Karma has been relegated to handheld stuff while I've adopted the EVO/Silver 4 for POV. Seems to be the way to go.
Seth, you Rock. I watch as often as I can. I ride the Fats trails in SC on my Diamondback because of you. I will eventually have the evo & my gopro. Right now, I'm usin' a 3 on my helmet. I built your workbench & love it. I have a dashcam I got on ebay for $10. It does the same thing. We actually used the footage when my wife had an accident to get our $ from the other driver with the help of a lawyer. A dashcam seems like a No brainer to me. If I have an accident and it's my fault, I just throw it under the seat.
Oiling gear cables, I thought a lot of modern gear cables had linings that can be damaged / degraded by the introduction of oil to the system. Think as you say this product could cause more issues than it solves
Yeah most modern cables on a bike are teflon coated at the least, and then have other protective layers, so this seems like it might only be useful for older bikes maybe, but even then, I put completely new cables and housings on my 70s road bike.
It is kind of annoying having to sync audio in post, but I am looking forward to what Sennheiser or GoPro will release for future audio solutions.
+Jordan Boostmaster yeah me too. The technology is promising, but the execution wasn't exactly ideal for mtb
HUAWEI P and a couple
Do the ole clap trick
The mike on the hero 5 is hot garbage I’d be cool if sennheiser made a smaller one
Have you tried clapping near the cam and mics and syncing that?
The watermark on the dash cam provides more convincing evidence when presented to police in case of an accident/collision.
Yeah I think he kinda forgot about the security and insurance aspect of dash cams lol
How
Donny bikelife FOX maybe to show the footage wasn’t edited?
Yoshi The Legend I think so they can see the date and time that it happened

The idea of the MRP progression adjustment knob is awesome. I can definitely see something similar becoming available at much lower prices or even integrated into rockshox and fox forks in the near future
Glad to see you back online, Seth!
I've been loving the MRP ramp control, pricy, but awesome on the go control.
3:23 "Dude you alright", *keep riding lmao!
You can’t stop when going though a rock garden like because you will probably crash , but is see what u mean😂

Could you guys check out my new mountain biking vids. It would mean a lot.
Outdoor media seems like you dont know fat biker vaibhav you must check out his channel first
Dhruv Mishra nice to see you sir
Fat Biker Vaibhav I
You ever fall with one of those stabilizers on your chest? I'd imagine it would be toast, or are they relatively durable?
Fox actually I fell IN this video
Fox they are pretty solid.
But still not indestructible like the gopro itself.
A crash right on the gimbal can eventually break it if it has too much force.
When you fall you tend to protect your vital organs instinctively anyways ie protecting your chest/stomach
Thanks Seth. The external mic comparisons, and image stabilisation with the gimbals, and camera comparisons are really useful to someone thinking of buying their first camera, or upgrading.

The MTB Crashing Dad GoPro really dropped the ball lately. Really hoping they release some killer stuff this fall.
Trail Features - Seth, if you're reading this... You should totally check out Trail Features' review on the MRP ramp control cartridge... Top notch !
The MTB Crashing Dad If GoPro doesn't make it have 1080p 60fps I'm done.
The MTB Crashing Dad 4K 60fps.
Gavin Crowley - seriously... They need to fix the sound issues and add the 60fps for 4k...

Love having my favorite mountain bike channel moving into my neck of the woods. I get to recognize all of your locations! Hope you are loving DuPont and bent creek!
Seth, I love the content and style of your vlogs. Not too serious, but professional all the same. Great job!
Great as always, Seth. Currently recovering from a radius fracture, and planning my return to the trails! Your vids keep me inspired.
I love these reviews so much better than 1 big review
I feel informated and entertained.
The Piggy seems like just what I'm after for my road bike, will be checking out the link. Good reviews as always Seth!
This is definitely my favorite series of yours. Keep em coming!!
You should have way more subscribers for how great your videos are
Elijah Romo he nearly has half a million and mountain biking is quite niche. To ask for any more subs than that would just be greedy.
A niche? Where, in the Antarctica?
On the ISS, maybe; like guitar playing.
It's better to have less subs, because you'll meet in comment section less stupid people like you. :)
puka Ya and I won't meet up with stupid people like you, Commenting to my so called stupid comment

Seth you should go to Scotland there's great trails and fort William
The GoPro info is great. Really great insight into what's what and why you'd use it or buy it.

Would you ever consider coming to Sugar Bottom mtb trails in Iowa, it would be a cool, chill spot to have a meet and greet with us viewers in Iowa.

26 Isn't Dead hey man thanks for checking out my channel. I will be uploading new videos weekly.

Great video Seth! I just got into mountain biking and love your videos!
Outlaw Bmx checkout my channel too if you get a sec, mines all trail riding right now.
I always get excited when Seth uploads XD
hey man been watching for the past week and i have really been enjoying the riding videos. you have inspired me to open up my thinking about action sports and what real dedication goes into it. 100% earned a sub
Ramp Control uses up volume, so the most linear setting is less linear than no tokens.
Bought a mrp control module for my release 5c carbon and my release 3
Another awesome video, Keep it up Seth!
I love these other uses for 3D printing with mountian biking
that karma with the hero 4 looks more than exceptional
You should come ride Mount Washington, BC Canada. Its a lot of fun, and crazy awesome scenery.
Hundreds of animals roam the trails and there is a good chance you will come across a marmot or black bear.
Hi Seth, You're probably my favorite RUclips channel, I wish you uploaded more, BKXC and the Singletrack sampler are also one of my favorites but they seem to upload more!
Seth do you have any videos reviewing repair stands? I think we all know park tool makes excellent repair stands, but what about some other less expensive brands?
+Jonathon Bomba good idea!
Great video. Keeps me motivated to keep filming and creating
Nice Seth but we need the Biking with Bobo guitar intro.
i love videos like this and your videos in general seth keep it up

Great product review Seth
You should make a playlist for favourite/best riding
Hey Seth this is kinda random but you are my favorite RUclipsr and got me into mountain biking so thank you
