@@macklieberman1785 really similar bike with slightly better components, if I recall correctly. I have the Raleigh Tokul 2 from a few years ago which is also nearly the same bike. Great geometry and good components for the price.
That blackburn cage is a beast. Its been living on my down tube for about a year now. I can carry a gallon of water on it for those long desert adventures. The straps are kind of annoying, but the rubber helps things not move around when your gravel gets rowdy. I slide the ends of the straps down near the cage where there is often a small gap with whatever bottle its holding. It can also just carry anything in a small stuff sack.
For a cheap bike work stand, you can hoist a 2x4, thick pvc, metal piping, etc, and use ratchet straps, ropes, tie downs to hang your repair stand. You can use bike storage hooks, or any other hooks to suspend the straps or ropes from the ceiling. Put wood of piping through the two ropes or straps. Adjust to desired height and hang bike(s) by seat.

Coming from someone who’s family owned 30+ alpacas at one point, yes, they are gnarly to sheer. They kick, spit, bite, scream (yes, scream) and do just about everything they can to keep you from taking their hard earned furry goodness. You have to tie them up with something that looks like a medieval torture device. It doesn’t actually hurt them, it’s to keep them from not only hurting you but also keeping them from moving around and being cut by the shears. It took something like 10 hours to shear all of our 30, and that was when we decided to get rid of them. Long story short: don’t get a bunch of alpacas, it’s not worth it.
I'd actually love the jack stands. On my commuter I have a phone holder which unless I loosen and turn it which is fiddly and difficult it prevents me from flipping my bike upside down to put my wheels on and off.
I have never had synthetic socks that come close to my alpaca socks - mine are not made as mtb specific, but are the most functional and durable socks I have. They last longer than Smartwool (similar price) and function better than anything else.
Hey Seth, just wanted to say I love the videos and it was you and your videos that inspired me to get into mountain biking. Thanks from here in south Georgia.
2:30 actually i have these tho i made them from dollar store tripods. i have bar ends on my bike and a bike computer so if i were to flip my bike, everything mentioned will be in direct contact with the ground which could scratch it or break it if dropped the handle bar too fast.
handlebar jackstands pretty cool some many times ive put towels down so i dont scratch the cockpit shifters etc plus it can wobble if you ve got a bell
They should make something to protect the seat rather than the bars. I always find that I get my seat scratched a bit after an upside down job. Great video Seth!
That headlux is a great idea. I've been chasing daylight with evening MTB rides. Last ride I finished after sunset, but more towards dusk, and not quite dark. However, had I experienced a any form of mechanical issue, I'd have been screwed as there was no moon either - just a sliver. DARK. I'll keep this is my SWAT downtube compartment for emergencies along with my tube and pump.
Like Seth says; the alpaca is super gnarly. What he doesn't say is that the only way to get the wool is to kill the baby alpacas and you get about one sock per animal. That's why they're pricey.
