I definitely see EH coming back and becoming part of today’s hype culture. Just needs Travis Scott or someone similar to wear it.
Edit: Not Travis
Travis was seen wearing EH a bunch.
pinterest people are starting to wear them to be "y2k"
Hell no
I live in nyc and my best friend has an Ed hardy hoodie that’s dope. You’ll definitely see it here and there especially in big cities like LA/NYC
He just needs to charge a high price tag and then have someone like uzi or any top “influencer” to wear it.. today’s mindset is all about “designer” so if it’s pricey like designer they’ll eat it up & buy it
Ed Hardy never fell off, the clothing brand by Christian Audigier fell off. The clothing brand just enabled the artist, the human, Ed Hardy to do his thing outside of just tattooing. His artwork and tattoos are timeless Americana. Ya’ll need to put some respect on the man’s name because as far as tattooing goes, he one of the most iconic and respected artists by the peers in his field.
exactly. my top 5 colognes are Ed Hardy. TF! lol
Nah he still blows
ed hardy sells instantly for me
The Clothing Brand is called Ed Hardy; therefore, Ed Hardy fell off. Your semantics are pointless.
Most Gucci and Robin’s looking like Ed Hardy 2.0
I just posted about this brand on my Instagram (tylula.co) 😆 love your videos btw
True true
Sooooo true!
Rise and fall... and rise again??
Yup 💯
von dutch is actually coming back
400.00 for a hoodie 🤣
Yeah where?
Von Dutch and Ed Hardy never really fell, niggas just stopped rockin it hard like back in the day when everyone from Paris Hilton to Hugh Hefner was wearin em. They comin back slowly, i see people all over the world still incorporating the threads into their daily fits
Yeah a lot has changed in 2 years
@@RaveeMattRaveeWhy would they? That's fucking stupid, endorsing a white supremacist.
I see vintage EH coming out of people’s closet more and more I definitely hope it makes a come back I feel like Gucci has done a lot of EH inspired designs so I think it could really be big again.
A friend gave me an Ed Hardy zip up hoodie for free like 12ish years ago.. I’ve been wearing it again and I get a lot of compliments on it. Wish I could find more of my old clothes!
Facts
their Cologne has always been the best of the best for me. My top 5 colognes are all Ed Hardy. Still.
I have a big collection original ED Hardy in my Closet
Avoid such a fate? I’m not sure I want to avoid making 700 million dollars in a year.
Seriously. Sell the brand if you can once it stops being profitable. If not, just hang it up and retire to your private island.
@@DeflatingAtheism ok
Yea and being one of the greatest tattoo artist of all time
Reggie what happened with the black fashion brands of the early 2000s.
FUBU, rockawear, Ecko, LRG, Phat Farm, etc?
Lrg was founded by a Chinese dude I believe..🤷
And ecko was founded by a white guy only FUBU, rocawear (no k in the spelling) phat farm and sean john were black owned.
@@boat11111 Karl kani was black owned as well.....🤧
Don't nobody want to wear it
Ecko, and LRG wasn’t black owned but good looking
If Von Dutch can make a comeback, so can Ed Hardy✔✔✔
carti bringing it back
No. Both brands were marketed heavily by Christian Audigier, and sunk both brands to make as much money as possible as quick as possible. I worked at the EH corporate office, and watched it rise and fall FAST.
Are we going to forget about Von Dutch’s letter on his death bed saying how n-words and Jews are taking over and how it’s a bad idea, ending the letter with “Hail Hitler”? I just hope people do their research.
@@erinwoods8373 you watched the documentary lol , you did not do any research
@@diorkhan4409 baby lol I lived through the shit😭😂. That was cute though. There’s plenty of news articles and documents for the public to read themselves, well before a documentary was made about it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to google it either lol so try again
I'll still buy that Ed Hardy cologne any day baby. Shit will always be diesel
Do you think that the YEEZY brand can keep evolving when so much of it is based on the general public's opinion on kanye west?
I think the brand's relevance is based more on Kanye's aura than people's opinions on him. And I think its gradually establishing itself on it's own(outside of Kanye) especially with reseller and celebrity influence. In the same way Mike Jordan's style doesn't dictate the leanings and look of Jordan and their products.
@@kaydee1485 especially with that yzy gap deal with mowalola at the helm nah never
Yeezy will never go outta style
This was why he split from Nike and went with adidas. Nike wanted to use his music to sell shoes, Kanye wanted to be respected as a fashion designer. A lot of popular fancy designers laughed at him (look up the whole Nigel off white dude) but now Kanye’s laughing all the way to the bank all while making adidas relevant again. Smart moves powered by the belief in self.
In the winter of 2019 I saw a Ed Hardy leather jacket in the Macy's at Herald Square that costs like 10k, I thought it was the crazyiest priced clothing item I ever seen in my life!
Ed hardy is still kinda fire tho
This is gonna be the story of chrome hearts

Supra footwear was everywhere and overpriced at one point. Damn
Omg I remember Supra 😭
crazy thing is, I'm sipping tea out an ed hardy mug right now.
You look like you ain't washed your skin in 15 years as well
I understand the sentiment about the brand falling off but the fact that this video coming out on December 29, 2020, 4 days after carti dropped WLR shouting out Ed hardy and at arguably the peak of the y2k aesthetic era not acknowledging the comeback is crazy
What happened to "NO FEAR"? They were huge in the 90's and a bit of the
00's.
He who dies with the most toys.......still dies......
Yooo... You really brought it back. I put No Fear the same level as And1.
And1 is Walmart’s bread n butter, but now Reebok is at Walmart
How about an episode on the impact of reselling platforms/consignment stores on the overall demand of the streetwear industry (specifically sneakers)? And on demand, I mean the real demand aka end users/collectors rather than resellers. Worth a look?
Great suggestion
Worth it. Will do some extensive research
Ed Hardy was soooo gaudy. Some of the ugliest clothes ever.
Forcing Stevie Wonder to wear Ed Hardy was, I thought, a particular act of cruelty.
Facts
it is, and thats why I love it.
ED HARDY GOES HARD BROOO
@Jay bruno yes 😭
I watched a documentary on Ed Hardy on vice and he's more interested in art nowadays more than anything. Slot of people still want tattoos from him now more than ever. He seemed like he had no worries about what people think about his art on t-shirts
Don’t click on the link..
Yeah, he knows his contributions to American traditional and Japanese traditional tattoo here in the states and the clothing brand was just one small part out of his entire collection of works. If anything just using his name and images. The dude is bad ass and a living legend.
Ayyyeeee another upload! Let’s gooo 🤝

As Keezy said in one of his video, with the rise of y2k 2000s fashion right now, it is possible for Ed Hardy to back on trend, even Von Dutch trucker is like becoming substitute of Chrome Hearts' right now
My mom always wore ed hardy and I still love it and always have😈2003 baby lol

The question should be why did Ed Hardy clothes rise at all. They were ugly.
Ppl wearing Von Dutch in NYC & Philadelpha right now shit crazy

i would still rock ed hardy just coz i like the designs
Michael Jackson was wearing Ed Hardy In the "this is it" documentary. ED Hardy is tattooing legend.
I remember Ed Hardy. At one point in the late 2000s it was ubiquitous. It was very loud and gaudy from the start, but that was part of the brand's image.
When I Told My Friends Back In 2005-2006 Christian Audigier , Von Dutch , & Ed Hardy Are All The Same Thing They Didn’t Believe Me.
VonDutch is being pushed by the rap industry at the moment. I've been seeing alot of VonDutch caps on upcomming rappers lately.
Thanks to King Von from Oblock. R.I.P
Ed hardy back now baby
Ed hardy shirts and true religion jeans was nice back in the day lol
Yeah under that era i was rocking Evisu.
all that stuff is back rn
In 2010, I bought two pairs of Ed Hardy shoes, in ROSS, for under $40 which was a deal.
SN: Ed Hardy, with Affliction clothing line, were also synonymous with casual mma fans who you'll see drunk at Buffalo Wild Wings trying to start fights & say that they could be in the cage, too.
One of my friends works at Penske pumping gas only wears Affliction. He’s 23. It’s 2021. He’s hella sad.

Ed hardy is so fire.. nothing fell off lol. It’s a quintessential part of 2000s culture.
ed hardy hats go crazy
I have an Audigier Ed Hardy hoodie. It is made of pretty nice cotton the print is still pristine, and I really like the artwork on it. I'm certain that tattoo style will make a comeback sooner than we expect and when it does Ed Hardy will be there in the spotlight.
Von Dutch wasn’t owned nor started by Christian. It was originally owned and started by a guy name Mike Cassel and Donald Cassel. Mike Cassel is the original owner of Bronze Age clothing brand out of Venice beach CA. And to wrap this around. Christian Audigier copied the entire brand business from Von Dutch to Ed Hardy brand and other brands. Also the brands image was misconception to general public. Which Ed Hardy brand was never marketed with Ed Hardy’s tattoo business background and history. But also Ed Hardy brand was sold to a company call Iconics which picks up all the brands who falls and they replace in to another market by utilizing the same brand image, such as like Joe’s Boxers. And the Von Dutch brand just tried to resurface in American market through stores like Zumiez in 2019 Spring to Summer season. Soon there will be documentary about Von Dutch. Yes I’ve worked with all of them and that’s how I know the inside... keep your eyes on for this new Von Dutch documentary coming soon...
Ed Hardy clothing did Fall off but Christian Audigier Had his Run With Von Dutch before and True Religion afterwords
I have never in my life bought an article of clothing from Ed Hardy, Bon Dutch or Affliction. I feel sorry for those who have lol.

For the love of God, pull the camera back. You don’t need to be taking up my entire screen. I couldn’t finish the video because all I could see was a beanie, goatee, and hands flailing around.
Peter chill out my dude. You don't need to be so pressed my man. Keep it Casual buddy. 😅
I'm not sure I agree that the 'rise and fall' model is a bad thing. For a creative it can be a god-sent, cashing in for a while, and then allowing them to start again with somethin interesting and fresh. Not to mention that with the kind of unbridled growth that 'Ed Hardy' the brand experienced, you might just be along for the ride up to a point.
Had Ed Hardy not licensed his designs to Audigier, he might never have seen the potential. The fact that he was able to buy it back is a really nice development too, where he can now build on a relatively solid and interesting foundation.
I do personally agree the 'slow growth with more control' model is preferable. But if you find a way to go big, just take it and enjoy the ride!
I left a comment where I said the hype and oversaturation model is actually ideal for a short-lived brand, as you get to wring money from consumers of every degree of spending power as the brand progressively moves from Melrose Avenue boutique shoppers to TJ Maxx clearance shoppers.
I see Von Dutch and no Ed Hardy these days

Prime example of us buying into brands that's not even valuable in today's time 😒. I was guilty as well for it so I'm not coming down on anyone. I didn't experience the brand that much because I was "away" at that time during the popularity. I just want us as a people to invest in ourselves first before trying to impress each other with pricey perishable items. 💯

Hardships that great brands today went through to stay in competition? what makes a brand stand out like gucci or versace or zara. Why do people keep coming back to those brands? A lot of questions, things I think about.
Its straddling that fine line between exposure and exclusivity and being very active and intentional about your brand image, that is how the public sees and knows your brand.
And also about coming up with dope work, or getting someone to make your work look dope.
Versace has quite a bit of legacy, Gucci has quite a lot of legacy. Both should have materials, construction, and design at least somewhat commensurate to their price points, and don't rely on branding and hype. Versace Collection is almost mass market at this point; IMO, get it on sale and it's a good way of getting well-made, well-designed basics and accessories that don't cost an arm and a leg.
i luv that ed hardy fell off cuz now i can get a pair of pants for 30 dollars
ECKŌ Unltd should make a comeback!! I have a hoodie almost 2 decades old that STILL holds up with multiple wears & washes through the years. I mean the quality is impeccable! No fraying, no loose threads, barely any pilling.
Yeah my favorite 😁 people always asks where to get the shirts if I wear them
Playboi carti mentions it and that’s enough for me
Just cause you don’t see people in sh particular brand and it’s not all over social media don’t mean it fell off… just say you like trends and you ah bandwagon shopper cause von Dutch never fell off… ed hardy to me was never it anyway but yea you just talking Mike Amari, palm angles, balenci, are most likely to fall off fr in my eyes
I like none of those brands you mentioned. This was just a case study of the business not my preferences in fashion. We analyze the industry and rarely take sides in whether something is good or not. That’s not up to us that’s up to you. And Von Dutch did fall off financially just like Ed Hardy. Just because people are now wearing it doesn’t negate that it went through business issues. Which is the point of the series.
Your assessment is FALSE! The business like any other reached it's peak and it just fizzled out
Do one on Evisu! This was dope
Von Dutch atucally made a comeback its weird he said that I still see it being worn n sold in more higher end street wear stores
