I personally used imperious for the past 2 years! such an awesome mod! Nowadays, I use EniaiSiaion's other race mod Morningstar! Another good mention is SimonMagnus' Aetherius, and Sky- Race abilities Enhanced by DrPharmDawg. These have more focus on inherent traits than racial powers.
Nice! I'm tracking them all on the nexus now. That list is getting LONG. I love modding. There's something for literally any issue or aspect of the game. Hardest part is getting them all to work together on a single mod list. Nerve wracking, but highly rewarding!

Altmer has the high cap, both 100 skill bonus 10 and the 15% bonus to enchantment push the cap up, leading to higher enchanting - alechemy cap, very likely to reduce one piece requirement for 0 cast cost for one school spell, and better fortity smith enchanting and potion, finally better weapon to neutralize the -15% effect
I use Imperious and Wintersun since a few months and it totally changed my emotional investment into my character and I started modding my game focused on actual gameplay and head canon. In Vailla game its only a question of cosmetics an religions irrelevant. Bethesda really missed a opportunity to create real depth. I wished there was more dialogue and NPC reactions regarding race and religion in Skyrim. The appearance of an orc alone should intimidate imperial, bosmer, dunmer and breton NPCs enough to change the way they speak to them for example. "More racism in Winhelm" adds some Anti-Dunmer bigots but they're only generic NPCs without any depth. There also should be standard dialogue for every follower, even generic modded ones about your faith and other aspects of life.

Sounds like a fun puzzle! Let's see... If I was doing more of a battlemage (soften them up with magic and finish them off with a weapon), I'd probably go Breton. I really like the extra standing stone effect. If I was going more melee, and just using magic for summons or crowd control, I might try Red Guard. Reduced spell cost and extra magica regen helps with the spells, while the extra attack and crit damage is obviously useful. Orc or Altmer would be more challenging, because they either enhance armor/weapons at the expense of your enchantments, or vise versa. If you're mixing melee with magic, you'll need all of those up to full power!

Somehow playing imperious makes me want to be a High elf, base game only gives faster magika regen and 50 points of extra magika, not really worth it in the latter
Yeah, I like most of imperious' changes, but the Imperials were always a bit "meh". Especially when the stat regenerating buff is randomly selected. Two handed fighters just loooove that increased magicka regen, lol!

If you have like 1000 health than I guess that last 10% would survive a lot of enemies as argonians so endgame it might be useful for health.
True. Depends on your build. Imagine enchanting your armor for maximum health regen, then add your Argonian regen to it. Could be amazing.

I believe so, but only out to a certain range. 350 ft I believe. You do have to stand still for a few seconds though, before it kicks in.
