I really struggled with my new camera when shooting this video. 😂 I could not get the focus to stay no matter how many reshoots I did. I'll do better next time. ✨
I have my establishment next Monday. I’m so excited. I’m a full time grad student, wife and mom pregnant with my second. I know I’m gonna love how much time it’ll save me.
Omg I’m so excited for you!! Enjoy all the extra time you’ll get back! Hopefully you’ll get enough back that you can designate some of it just for yourself. 😊💕
Your sister locks are beautiful. I’m 15 months in and absolutely love my sister locks for all the reasons you named. Also, love when I can walk in a beauty supply store and not Need anything from there. It’s a Very cost effective hairstyle!
I didn’t even think about that but you’re so right! 😍 I actually went with my friend to the beauty supply store just the other day and for the first time in my life, I truly didn’t need a single thing! Haha Locs are the gift that keeps on giving!
I like the part about "Quarantine baby!" - that's so true! I've been hesitant because of the initial awkward phase, but now that you mention it, now is the best time. Thank you!
Got mine done in October 2020. My hair is really short and very fine. Does it look scalp or weird sometimes? definitely. Do I care what others think of it? Nope. Am I loving them already, as they are? Definitely!
Dismount seems like the perfect word! 😂 Your locs are flourishing and look even longer than your last video. The 1 reason I’m not all the way in for getting sister locs is that my hair is so fine and medium density. I’m worried that they’ll look sparse forever.
Thank you for validating that for me girl 😂 "Dismount" is what immediately came to mind when I watched my locs fall like that. I should've just kept running with it. Fine and medium density.. So like thin strands with medium density?? If so, we're twins-- that's exactly how i would characterize my hair!
@@ambyressence + yes that’s what I mean... I started following you for that very reason 🙂. I have 2 relatives that sister loc-d and they’ve been telling my to take the leap. I’m about 85% sure I want them.
@@DanaConquersBoutique Maybe look up low density locs to get a visual of what thinner locs may look like. When I did my search I realised that still liked how the locs looked even though they were thinner so I feel that I will be happy regardless of how mine turn out. One of the people I follow with lower density is TheRealKylaB
My cousin got her sister locks done last year and she has been trying to convince me lol. I wasn’t ready to commit but I realized at this point in my life I have no Desire to do my hair. I’m just too busy 😭 I made my consultation appt for this week !! I’m excited! Also... where did you get that bonnet sis ???
Hi! So good to see you uploaded new content 😍 your locs are so pretty and getting thicker! I agree with all of your reasons. I'm not getting as many compliments, yet (I'm still early in my journey) and yes, SL saves SOOOO much time! Thanks for this video ❤❤❤
Hi, love!! 😊 Thank you so much! Give it a little bit more time and people are gonna start popping up out of nowhereee to ask about your hair. 💛❤️ I'm so happy your SL are saving you time-- truly my favorite part of being locked!
Wow 🤩 So Good 😊 Those are all my favorites also. I’m 4 mos in and just starting to love my SL. My hair is fine & low density so it’s been a real struggle. Glad I’m one of your subbies keep up the good work, your inspiration is Appreciated ♥️👍🏾☺️
MerryMeri, I applaud you for sticking in there through the early phases!! 💕💕👏🏽 I don’t think enough people realize how much of a hit one’s confidence can take right after they get locs (SL or any other kind)! The great news is, as I’m sure you’re already seeing, your SL will continue to look better and better and better! 😊💕💕 Thanks so much for the support! Honored to have you here!
Do you still braid and band religiously and what has been your experience with the two different SL Shampoos? Have you tried any other Shampoos? Also have you put anything else on your hair?
I had been braiding and banding religiously up until this week actually!! This week, I washed my hair for the first time without braiding it up. I posted a video about it earlier today! 😊 I like both of the SL shampoos!! I’m terrified of getting grimy product buildup in my locs, so I love that the SL shampoos are formulated to easily wash out of these tiny locs without leaving behind any residue. The starter shampoo was GREAT for helping my hair settle into the locs. It’s designed to make the hairs rough so the strands can hold together better. It definitely does its job! But it’s so drying, I don’t think anyone should use it long-term. The Green Tea SL Shampoo is what I use now and I love it. It smells amazing, and it’s more moisturizing too, so I don’t feel worried about continuing to use it! I’ve tried Dr. Bronner’s Castille Soap and Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Shampoo in my hair. Ultimately, I returned those, and went back to the SL shampoo! It works for me, so I don’t see a need to mix it up! Lol I don’t put anything in my locs except essential oils and water! 😊 I may introduce conditioner soon. This is so much information, but I wanted to be thorough! 😂
Everyone's plucked chicken phase is different haha. It depends on number of locs, hair thickness, etc. But in general, the plucked chicken phase is usually gone by around 2 months because you've had a few washes (water bulks your hair up), and your new growth will be coming in, hiding your scalp 😊
I have really fine hair- 356 locks and the plucked chicken look lasted about a month for me. I started my journey February 2021 and after 2 washes they feel and look thicker.

Hey Dana Foster - I feel ya, but go ahead and do it. I see a change in my hair every month. I thought the exact same thing. 😂😁

lol! "plucked chicken phase"...thanks for this. I'm looking into getting sister locks...I'm tired of doing all of this hair :(
Yes to all of these reasons! I was thinking of these even before watching your video. Thank you!
Your locs have flourished nicely. They are long thick and full. I know in the beginning you had an issue with loc count. They have matured so well.

I'm at month 2 and getting compliments. I think when you start with length your scalp isn't as visible.
Length or thickness?
Your hair looks beautiful. Can you share your lip color please? Thank you!!
You’re just so darn cute 🥰
Thanks for the update 🥳
Here wanting to know how to find my grid and someone to do them for me here in the Carolinas.
Where did you get your bonnet from?
Omg 🥰 New Subbie 😁💛
Omg!! 💕😊 Welcome, gorgeous!
Is it really only about two months that one will deal with the plucked chicken look ?lol
You mentioned emerging after two months in quarantine
