Your trainee did better than many consultants from what I see. Your pics are gorgeous
Oh wow thank you. Was your consultant listed on the site?
@@samantham9056 I've noticed ppl leaving long loose ends. The amount my trainee left out was fair. Not too much.
@@samantham9056 you can ask her to loc more of the ends. My loctician told me that she thinks it's unfair that you pay for "x" amount of inches but only parts of what you pay for gets locked. She had the same issue when hers were done so she makes it a point not to do that to her clients
WOW hair goals...I am 6month into my SL journey and I love it... I know you hear this a lot but my only regret is not getting them sooner.oh congrats and he is LOVE
Thanks so much! You'll be swinging yours in no time
At this point, I am at the 3 years and 3 months mark and I don’t use products on my Sisterlocks. Thank you for sharing this informative video. 👌🏾
That’s the way to go! You’re so welcome
Your Locs are gorgeous, really pretty.
I love how springy they are and the depth of colour.
Best thing about your video was gorgeous baby making an appearance 😍🥰
I can imagine how easy life is not having to worry about dealing with your hair while looking after baby.
Best wishes
Thank you so much and YES! Having Sl's make life SO much easier. Thanks for watching
I said the same thing they need a entire revamp their entire brand!!! Btw your locs are gorgeous & congrats on the newborn!!!
I really love those who wear sisterlocks in general but Dr. Joanne Cornwell is not the inventor of the method period. She took it from the Masai Mauri men tribe, where she lived and learned the method. The fact that she trademarked it is interesting in itself. The website and the Brand is completely outdated. Locs have evolved to similar methods (micro/interloc/twistlocs) empowering women and men to DIY!!! Making the method accessible to Black people should be the primary focus. Growing up we did each others hair and it did not cost an arm and leg but dinner or helping in other ways. Yes, its a long process but that is how I was raised as well and it built character and community. The Sisterlock Brand also does not take any accountability when something goes wrong leaving clients/consultants/trainees stranded. The concept to me is ambiguous and convoluted. Again, love the interlock method but not the Brand or what it stands for.
CONGRATS ON NEW BABY! I LOVE YOUR HAIR, IT'S BEAUTIFUL! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN YOUR VIDEO... YOUR VERY INFORMATIVE YET DOWN TO EARTH WITH A BIT OF A SENSE OF HUMOR. THANKS!
Aw thank you! I think thats me to a T. Welcome!
Your locs are BEAUTIFUL and I love your channel!! For my locs, I have found that plain rosewater (the heritage store brand) is an AWESOME moisturizer as well as Juices and Berries (this stuff is AMAZING)!
Best sister locs I’ve ever seen
I’m 19 and will be getting my locs done next week! By a trainee as well. I’m so ready
Exciting!
Where do I find a trainee at???
@@shalanacarson5535 go to the Sisterlocs site and search your state and area under trainees
@@froggybug thanks so much
I just use rosewater on my hair. Still using the sisterlock shampoo since I still have some. And I do wear my cap to bed. But like I said your hair is beautiful,
I love rosewater! I add a bit to that spray bottle as well. You're taking good care of your locs
I can hardly wait to get mine! Thank you for your advice. I wash my loose hair with African black soap.
I love this video! You are keeping it 100% real. I love the length of your loc’s as well.
Thank you Jemara!
Very pretty locs. I use apple shampoo, Neutrogena clarifying shampoo and water with aloe vera gel from Walmart. Sometimes I use oil but only in the front because it's always dry there.
Your hair looks beautiful! Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Very informative video! Considering sister locs. So where is Francis located?
Thank you! Shes between a few states near va right now but isn't taking new clients :(
New subbie. I know this is an old video but your baby's cooing is everything!!! 😍😍😍❣️❣️❣️
Well they look great and what a lesson on letting your hair just do what it do! New subbie here!
🤗💛
I use aloe vera juice and olive oil in a spray bottle and occasionally I make use tea tree oil or olive oil on my scalp ..I don't wrap my hair every night and I use clarifying shampoo
Just because someone got a patient on a style is not that important.. and doesn't mean that it originated with them
Your Locs are beautiful and your baby is precious! Tfs
Aw thank you!
I use Sauve Clarifying Shampoo. Conditioning sisterlocs or microlocs isn’t necessary because we wash and moisturize (oils) our hair very often. The water and oils are all the conditioner we need. I LOVE YOUR SISTERLOCS! 💖
thnks so much!
Your sisterlocks are beautiful. I'm just 4 months in of getting my sisterlocks. I did receive my certificate and a gift. It was a sisterlock mug, pen, canvas bag and a notebook and they all say sisterlock on it very nice. My consultant is on the website and she is very good. I had traditional locks before, had cut them off wanted to do just natural hair did that for 2 years and meet a friend that told me about sisterlocks and so far I'm loving it.
Thank you! Whaaat?! That makes me mad lol i may write them cause I'd love that. Welcome to the sisterlock family! Appreciate you watching
I didn't get a certificate either, I guess they're not passing them out anymore
Your Sisterlocks are beautiful!
thanks so much
Hair Looks Great, I do not have sistar locs, But I am looking into it. I have soft thin natural hair. I really want some dreadlocks, and someone mention the sistar locs to me a couple of times, I did not even know what that was. I love your hair. I even walk up to people and tell them that their hair looks so good.
I will keep a lookout on your channel. Thanks for all the information.
Your locs are beautiful I'm thinking about doing this. I'm glad I saw your video because I was not going to do any research. But I will now
here watching..
here watching
Your hair is Fabulous! It looks AMAZING! I am in the research phase... and I think that I'm ready to move forward this year with my install. I am in Maryland & wanted to know if you have any recommendations for a technician or trainee... 🙏🏽.
I enjoyed your video & all of the positive things you said about Sisterlocs overall.. Thank You!
You so much, I wish I did but I don't unfortunately! I have since cut my hair :(
Soliél Why did you cut them? I’m thinking about getting mine done so I’ve been researching and watching videos myself. I have so many questions.😩 Would you be willing to discuss?
@@toyeranichel hi! I have many videos up on why I cut them. I have alopecia. Sure, what questions do you have?
Soliél hello there! Thanks for responding.🤗 I’m gonna subscribe to your channel and check out the videos first. I didn’t know you had so many posted! I think my biggest concern at this point is the tightening and retightening. I suffer from severe migraines and I have allodynia, which causes certain spots in my scalp to be SUPER SENSITIVE. The least bit of pulling and tugging causes immense amounts of pain.🥴 Needless to say, I’m worried about constant pain but love the concept of the sister locks and being able to wear my natural hair. ~ Sorry about the alopecia. A close friend of mine just cut all her hair off too for the same reason.
@@toyeranichel I cant speak for everyone but there will be levels of pain. I had it during my install and reties
Some of the pain during reties comes from the necessary rotations to retiighten the loc. Personally I wouldnt out myself through it with your history. That's a lot of money to sacrifice. Some ppl take meds before they get a retie and that could be an option for you. Maybe try microloc extensions first? I also have a video called what you should know. Before getting sisterlocks that may be good to check out.
Your hair is beautiful ..I do not use conditioner on my locs.I drink alot of water and keep an ok diet. I wash my hair 1 time in between my retights and that's the night before my appt..I also use a quarter size of DAWN dish detergent to wash my hair and it it heavily diluted because of the build over time..I spray my hair with water in a 24 ounce size spray bottle. And I only use Distilled water on my hair Because my hair Drink's any water that's sprayed I must use a couple drops of essential oil..That can be from Lavender, Lemongrass Tea Tree, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, or Sweet Orange, or Rosemary which are never used together..they will be used one at a time in a 2 month stint.. This I find works for me and most importtant I KEEP MY HANDS OUT OF MY HEAD.
Breast feeding took me!!!!! The knowledge and advice thanks a lot!!
You’re so welcome
Thanks so much for the information u are the best!!!!!
I'm so glad you could use the information!
I never got my certificate either. I don't know anyone who has. I found my consultant on IG.
I got my locs November 2016! Hair looks lovely!
We are hair twins! My routine is like yours. I use dollar store shampoo monthly, but am very consistent with my re-ti..braid outs are my fav!! Your hair is gorgeous keep up the good work! I’ll be 5 years loc’d June 2020. BEST DECISION EVER!
aw yay! thanks for watching! ive since switched to a black soap shampoo
I love the baby in the background....
Congratulations!!! Also, your hair is soo beautiful!!! Did you experience any hair loss during and after your pregnancy? I have seen some pictures with loc loss and edges after preg. Im scared!!! Love your vid.
Thank you Ashly! I only saw very very light loss along my edges. No one noticed but me. I noticed yesterday that that hair was coming back
Girl I just got mine but my Sytlist said we really don’t have to do all that stuff people say. ✌🏾
No products: Just the shampoo my loctistion referred me to. I don’t use the SL shampoos that came in my kit. 9 months loc’d. I love them!
Goodness your locs are stunning!!!
Thank you🤗
Hi I don't use anything on my hair only water no oil or conditions I use the sista loc shampoo that's it
Very informative video......thanks
thank YOU for watching!
And the site is STILL not updated. I'm going through the same thing right now trying to find a consultant. Very frustrating.
If I could go back id even look into just microlocks or interlocs.
I was looking too! I’m in Cleveland. The closest consultant is in Detroit 😔😣
Congrats mommy🙏👏
Thank you so much
👋🏽 New subbie. Are you referring to an official Sisterlocks facebook group? Im trying to find consultants in my area but like you said the website is outdated and just sad. In this day and age it’s a poor representation of the brand.
It's not an official one but it's called sitersock sistahs now
Love your locs 😍
Aw thank you!
I wanted to get sisterlocks, but it looks like the owner wants to keep people dependent by keeping everything a secret and not allowing people to tell each other how to use the sisterlocks tools or buy them
Lola A that’s how she makes her money.
Can you kindly give us updates on your locs and any possible post partum shedding? I didn't experience noticeable hair loss when I had my first but I wanna get sisterlocs and possible have another and just wanted to see how it may be dealt with. Thanks!
Hey Janelle! I have a vlog up about that. Just search shedding. I plan to do a follow up on that. Keep in mind all of us are different! Thanks for asking
I use zero product in my hair outside of shampoo ! I’m 3 year now and need to do a update lol
I'm in VA as well and looking for a SL technician or trainee...
Can you share Francis information please
I would love to but as of last month she not accepting new clients. She did for a short while.
Thanks for the video, loved every second of it.
could you please post your consultant/ trainee's information. thanks
Thank you! I would be she has stated she isn't accepting new clothes and I wouldn't want hundreds of ppl contacting her if she isnt.
@ aww that so sad, please do let me know when she is ready for me. Thanks

The sis'loc website is a hot mess. How many locs do you have?
A little over 400
Congrats on your little guy. I’ve had my sisterlocks for 2 1/2 years and the only thing I use is Suave Clarifying Shampoo. It’s what my consultant recommended because they was out of the sisterlocks shampoo. Your locks are beautiful!
thanks so much!
Appreciate you sis

Your hair looks so healthy! I can't believe you don't do anything to it!

Thank you for the video. I’m in DC and looking to get this done. I see Francis is not doing it anymore and the list of certified people in DC are pretty non-responsive. Do you know of anyone else?
Hi, I dont sorry. Try the sisterlock groups on fb!
Omg yes that website is so ancient
Lmfao factssss
Hello sorry I can’t remember your name, your trainee did a beautiful job on your hair. What area you guys in. I would really like for her to do my hair, I’ve been looking for someone in Atlanta... How can I reach or talk to you.
Hi! we are in va and her info is on the SL site for that area.
Are you in Virginia? Can I have the contact with the person that does your hair. I am currently in Baltimore.
Yes I am! Usually I wouldn't be able to pass her info since she isn't in VA anymore BUT she is currently taking clients in BMore :) her name is Frances Odoi.
Yay thank you.
Awesome! I was writing to inquire the same. Hope I can get on her calendar!
Looking for a consultant also how could I find her?
how many locs do you have
I had 407
Where are you located in VA?
I'm in Richmond, sorry i'm so late! YT doesnt do well with notifying me of comments.
Imoves to So Cali and found a trainee. She was on a break when I arrived then pished my consultation out 4 more weeks making me have more new growth. Then finally on the day of she cancelled and said we would have to reschedule but never gave me ay options to do so. Maybe she only wants new installs to get certified but now I'm stuck.
Wow im so sorry to hear that. I hope you are able to find another consultant in Cali
Nakiya Young. Try her out. Her info is on the sisterlocks website.
Beautiful
New subbie from Houston
Yay! Welcome Tameka
Hair goal! I love it!
hi your hair is beautiful!!!! how much doixd you pay for your locks
is your hair medium density?
See I didnt get a kit or shampoo, I literally was told to get shampoo and conditioner from my consultant. I used to use rose water but my hair hates it. I used a product with peppermint and sea salt to help my locking process but now I only use a growth elixir, I think I just got lazy and realized my hair does and looks better with nothing on it. I have mixed feelings about wash days idk if I should use conditioner or not but other than that I love my hair
yes, SL don't need anything. their site and videos explain that so im glad you're going that route :) the kit should have come from your consultant with the shampoo in it!
@ nah girl ain't get one lol
@@AlexisTee thats wild smh
I did months of research before my journey began. I am documenting my journey on RUclips. I recently recorded my eleventh month update. My wonderful consultant is featured in the video. #newsubbie
I am now just watching this, lol. I have a straight hair (filipino hair) and been interested on installing a sisterlock, Im just wondering if that’s possible on my hair type?
I am no pro but I would say it would take an awful lot and a long time for your hair to lock. In some groups I have seen women with non black hair have them though.
Soliél okay so I can have it, its just more tougher to maintain it?
@@kendrixmegino9576 her hair wasnt Filipino. It was curly so it really cant say. Personally if I had your hair type I wouldn't choose sisterlocks
Soliél I find the sisterlock more appealing honestly, yours is very gorgeous by the way. Im tryna achieve that same look as well. The fullness and volume
@@kendrixmegino9576 thank you and i can see why. They are are so pretty good luck to you on your journey
