Very practical advice. I have also found that counting calories is VERY tedious and ultimately stressful. Simply doing your best not to overeat and choosing whole foods makes life so much less stressful. Allowing yourself to satisfy cravings in moderation is so empowering because you realize you can give yourself what you desire and still feel very pleased with your decision because you didn't overdo it.

I love your food choices. We eat very similarly. I will try these out, they look delicious :) What I like about your recipes and recommendations is that they are not too expensive.. I don't live in the US, and people in my country can't constantly buy avocados and quinoa... etc. Those are too expensive here and I don't think that those are the only things that are healthy. But they are so fashionable nowadays that it seems everybody who makes health-related videos uses only the same expensive ingredients.
That's a good schedule for keeping fit. Unfortunately, most of us work. 5:00 oatmeal, coffee 6:00 get to work 12:00 grab a sandwich if you're lucky enough to have time for lunch that day 7:00 leave work 8:00 get home, binge eat something while dinner cooks 8:30 eat a giant meal 9:30 go to bed Perfect.
astaliini I think part of that time might be commuting, or they work shifts, which can be 12 hours if you're a nurse, for instance.. But I agree, it sounds like a crazy schedule.

It's crazy how the lunch is less than 300 calories. It seems like so much food. That's another benefit of eating clean, you get to eat more when still eating the same amount of calories.

The soup at the end looked soo yummy. I made it and barfed then dry heaved uncontrollably. Apparently i do not lile butter beans. Theyre like huge lima beans. Def recommend some other kind of bean instead

Hey Joanna! I'm new to your videos! And I am trying to lose weight this year as one of my years resolutions. Starting last week Monday, i decided to cut out going out to eat. As a college student, it's one of the things I like to do, and it is sad, but I lost a lot of money from just going out. I work for Campus Dining and I get 2 free meals a week, and I also plan on not using those meals for the reason that if I use campus meals I will have the motive to go and get the greasy foods they serve. I also always bought a lot of chocolate milk (by the pint), after work, during meals, and I also cut that out. Currently I'm working on following serving sizes, and portions, and eating a lot of hard-boiled egg whites with a bit of salt for my protein in-take(only because I find hard-boiled yokes kinda nasty :P). And with all these lack of "going-out" meals and college meal plans I am forced to cook at home. I have had previous attempts of losing weight, and unfortunately I failed each time. But I want to stick by it this time. My problem is I actually very much LOVE food. Although I wish I could say these dishes look appetizing, I don't, the reason being that I don't like a lot of healthy foods. ESPECIALLY the greens. :( So It's nothing against you, but it's just my food preferences. I look at all these diet plans and wonder how people eat it, for the sole reason that I know I wouldn't enjoy much of it. A lot of us are different, so you might enjoy it, but I might not, and I'm not sure what to do about my eating habits and how I could find some enjoyable foods to suit my tastes. Thanks Joanna.
