Thank you for this tutorial! I love how laid back and relaxed your style is. No crazy production value, just learning how to cook in a regular kitchen. Cheers!
Looks so delicious. Just learning how to make Asian food. So far I have made both Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai using the sweet red curry paste. Stir fried rice both chicken and shrimp. Now I will try Singapore Noodles. Yummy Thank you. Have a great week.
Singapore Rice Noodles is one of my favourite dishes for years. The Chinese restaurant that I used to frequent closed during the pandemic. I tried a couple of recipes with questionable success. Your tutorial is the best one I’ve tried. Thank you so much. My homemade Char Sui went perfectly with it.
Happy Sunday Flo 🌄 I'm going to make this meal for my sister when she visits next week. She adores stir fries. Thanks for sharing 🙏 Have a blessed week 💞
Happy Sunday Flo! I love Singapore noodles but never made it myself now I wouldn’t order out anymore 😅 thank you Flo for sharing another great recipe ❤ have a great week 🙏
I tried this last month, it was really good. The next one will be a fusion of your recipe and Martin Yan’s. Wednesday I’m making your braised pork belly. All your recipes turn out so well.
I make it at home, I am Aussie. But my variation is putting the curry powder, tumeric (which I love for the extra colour), salt pepper soy sauce and oyster sauce in the pan and heat it up and mix it then put in the vercimilli noodles. I precook the vegetables, usually onion and carrot, green beans and add after the noodles are well mixed. IDK I think I just made and winged it this way and have never really added prawns (shrimp you call them big ones, we call shrimp the small ones) Char Sui is not something I have come across to much, but then I havn't looked out for it. Your version looks alot more tasty than mine, but I love the Jullianette carrot in Singapore noodles.
Thanks Flo! I always buy these noodles without the Curry but with lots of heat. My Chinese restaurant owners know exactly who I am when I call. I order two of the same way. I'm going to try to make them myself now that you've shown me how to do it. I just have to find the right noodles. Thx again!!!
Hello, Flo, I have been fascinated since I was a teenager, watching Chinese cooks at work. Now I have you to teach me how to make your great recipes at home, easily and deliciously. One question: what is your preferred vegetable oil? I have always used peanut (not a vegetable) oil, but is there something better to use? Thank you for what you do.
Lovely display I love that kind of food but to go to out it's very expensive my daughter cooks Chinese food very well and some times she gets me some because know I live in an old people home and the smile of it is so nice I love to watching your looking i am from Malta it's a small iland
In the Netherlands most of the Chinese Cantonese restaurants , and there are a lot, have Cantonese cooks. They all prepare this dish with a GREEN paprika because af its speceific taste, never red and no soy sauce.
Love the simplicity and quickness of this dish , while the noodles are not available readily , I would substitute with the angel hair , which is more readily available, thanks for the suggestion have a Blessed Sunday .🙏
I love Singapore noodles. The first time I had them was in Hong Kong on my first ever overseas trip, in the early 80s, to visit my aunt (who at that time lived in Macau)
Do you have ingredients and recipe that is printable? It helps me in the kitchen. I made your homemade fried rice for Mother’s Day. Big hit. I’d like to try the noodles. Unfortunately we don’t have an Asian market for some ingredients but I was able to supplement the ingredients. Thanks. We don’t have good Chinese restaurants here anymore. Good ones all closed in Covid. I love it so I’m learning to make it myself. Love your videos.
@@sunflowerbaby1853 These recipes are really good. Some ingredients are hard to find but I found good substitutes. Instead of rice noodles I will use thin spaghetti. Invested in the sauces and spices. Always start with fresh onion, garlic and ginger. I’ve learned to improvise and it’s yummy.
@Mainecoonlady Glad you are enjoying my recipes. All written recipes are available to my patrons on Patreon.com/flolum. They are usually posted on the Monday following the release of the video.
@@FloLum Oh ok. Thank you. I am not on patreon. I tried one time and my account plus credit card was hacked. Scary. I’ll listen again and take notes. I appreciate you sharing the recipes. I’ve made a few and enjoy them a lot. Do you know of an online Asian market I can get ingredients from? I live in the southeast and just not available in my area. My local Walmart had 14 Oz box of rice noodles for $20. Yikes!
This is my favorite because most of the Chinese food places I go to use all the proteins- shrimp, beef, egg, chicken, pork and that curry flavor is so delicious
I'm from Singapore, and we often have to tell people there's no such thing as "Singapore noodles" here 😂 In other countries, "Singapore noodles" are just an Asian way of cooking noodles. You can come to Singapore and try a large variety of noodles though!
I think thats the name of it also just like Indonesian fry rice noodle to me except Singaporean put turmeric/ yellow color. we only put soy sauce and other stuff. dont cook the noodle with boiling water just soak with cold water that way noodles wont break or soggy while you cooking.
Hey Flo. Once I get off work on Sundays, as soon as I can I watch your latest video!! Have tried a couple of your recipes that I love. But curious, due to “southern culinary education” I always think i need to add som thing “green” or additional vegetables. Do you serve additional veggies with yours ? Thank you. ❤
So very kind! Generally, I also try to make sure there is something green on the table. In this case, I may just cook some simple Chinese greens on the side.
I have to try your recipe! My favorite Chinese cafe makes this delicious dish and it's my favorite. They add chicken also to the dish and I always request to make it extra spicy for me😋
I live in Georgia, USA, how can I find the correct "Chinese Curry Seasoning "? I checked with Walmart and they don't carry the bran "Dan O Curry Seasoning ". Please, help me find a good match. I am 76 and homebound, so I must order Delivery. I am new subscriber.

Singapore Noodles are everywhere here in Philadelphia's Chinatown! Very popular including Dan Dan Noodles! But the cost varies from restaurant to restaurant! My favorite restaurant charges $17 plain then if you want chicken, pork or beef it's $4; shrimp is $5 and duck is $6. 🤔🤫😳😬🫣🫣🫣🙈🤐🤐
No options?!?! Ohhhh that wouldn't go down well here in Philly!!! We NEED our options in restaurants... especially our Asian restaurants!!! I'm going to have to try giving this a go with pork belly !! 😊😉😃🙃
I used to live and studied since my childhood in Singapore and had never tasted the fried noddle in your way or style where Singapore people would never love it. Originally this noddle originated from China where the Singaporean Chinese or other Chinese around the world have been cooking in their favourite Chinese style not your style..
Making fried Singapore noodles at home is much easier than you think! Happy Sunday! 💕
Oh my God! Singapore Noodle!!!! Yes! Thank you for the demo and recipe.
you do not need curry powder, why dont you just do a curry. spices will suffice and just as tasty
That looks sooo good. I can almost smell the aroma. So healthy too.
Your recipes has given me inspiration to cook more. Keep them coming!!
One of my favorites dishes. I was so excited when this video popped up. Now I can make it anytime. Thanks so much 🤗

Cutting onions from top to bottom have less cell damage. It really does make a difference when doing so. I’m making this tomorrow. Thanks!

Interesting as the Cantonese here do it however their families make it. Green paprika => Green Pepper => Capsicum Annuum.
J'aime beaucoup vos recettes. Merci! 🙂

You sure can.

Hi Flo. Can you please see if we can wrap Singapore Noodles into rice paper packets for on the go?
Yummy. Flo a question please, I saw a cast iron wok what is your opinion on that? Isn't that too heavy to use?
Yes… cast iron would be incredibly heavy. Carbon steel would be ideal.
@@FloLum thank you, you are the BESTEST 😘
This is a Keeper Tutorial, thank you!!
My favorite there them Singapore noodles and thanks so much for sharing your recipe here and I can't wait to get to make these, yum-o. ❤ 😊
One of my absolute favorite meals 🍤. I will be adding more shrimp though. What dishes use glass noodles ?
Definitely going to try this! Can I substitute the Asian curry powder for anything else? I don't have that on hand.
You can sub curry paste? Or you can search for DIY curry blend. Perhaps you have the spices at home for that.
Thanks did you boil the noodles first please do
Can we use other kind of meat insread if pork? Thank you!
You can sub chicken or use more shrimp.
No gingers required?
Love your hair Flo, very pretty!

Any curry powder will do for this recipe.
Flo, is this in your new cookbook?
No, sorry it’s not. 😔

I believe they are the same. We call them bell peppers here in North America, the British call them peppers and Australians call them capsicum. 🤷🏻♀️
As a Singaporean, we were never hung up on where the dish really come from. We only care if the food is good or not.
Love me Flo - Seriously...
Another liked 👍 😊
i cant find that curry mix locally what other ones can i use?
Any curry blend you have or can find will do.
Do you think Garam masala spice mix be close? My partner loves your recipes. Kim from Australia
@Kim Candy You can give it a try and see if you like it.
Mmmm Perfect Flo except for one thing. It's not wonderful without the lip blistering chili in it. LOL 🤗😘

better than restaurants!

Wah!!! 💸💸💸 And that’s in US. Here in Canada, it’s x probably about $18-20 but it just comes as is with whatever ingredients they use. No options.
No options?!?! Ohhhh that wouldn't go down well here in Philly!!! We NEED our options in restaurants... especially our Asian restaurants!!! I'm going to have to try giving this a go with pork belly !! 😊😉😃🙃
I have eaten Singapore noodles in Klang and I find that there is no chilly powder. They use only soy sauce.
Better to mix the curry powder with noodle first as u don't want the bell pepper to absorb too much curry.
To add some sourness, the Hong Kong version should use pickled vegetables rather than fresh ones.
Same as pancit or Filipino noodles
😅 You say to follow the directions on the bag.
However they are never in English. It's a bad guessing game of google suggestions.
Lol… I guess sometimes that is true.
All my recipes add chicken broth also
This is my second time..
FWIW, Paillin says to NEVER trust the cooking instructions on a bag of Asian noodles.
