Certain countries worry about China but practically the whole world worries about the US and the agressive and imperialistic foreign policy they pursue and have been for a long time meddling in everybody else"s business and other countries"s internal affairs in many ways so at the end of the day the US is no better than China, quite the contrary actually. In a survey in Europe 20 thousand people were asked who they believed was the biggest threat to World peace and stability and the US came out on top which isn"t surprising;they play by their own rules while expecting the rest of us to play by a different set.If you"re more inerested in truth rather than "news" check out the videos of Chris Hedges(ex journalist and author among other things)who used to be a war correspondent for the NY Times until he was fired for revealing the naked truth and I quote "You can report the news or the truth but if you do you"ll run into trouble sooner or later and eventually get fired if you don"t stop. You should read his book from 2018 "American Empire the farewell tour" a good book that describes reality as it is.You have a few others like the "Jimmy Dore show" who has his own channel since mainstream media won"t go near him.

      Which agreement is that?
Technology transfer agreements are legal under UN and WTO agreements. Japan and South Korea have developed due to technology transfers.
Brazil, Malaysia, China, Mexico, etc, are also moving up the technological ladder due to technology transfers.
Companies move to China and know that they'll have to share technology.
Now it is suddenly China's fault?
Your argument can be, that stronger intellectual property rights agreements must be implemented. But they are already strong enough, so, what should be added or changed?
Or you can argue that China is now a developed country, so technology transfers are not necessary to trade, nor needed to China's development.
But you cannot charge China of not playing by the rules. Otherwise, you can complain to the WTO just like the US, and the EU did when dealing with Boeing and Airbus subsidies.

We, in Latin America and other people in the Middle East, look at this interview and just one word comes to mind: hypocrisy.
The USA accuses China of doing everything the USA has been doing in Latin America since the beginning of the 20th century until now. The USA has done nothing in Latin America in the last century other than to contain the political and economic growth of countries like Brazil, for example. But we evidently only "discovered" this when American government documents are declassified fifty years after the event. The USA is not concerned with fair competition, but with maintaining itself as an empire without opponents. With all its diplomatic and economic coercion practices, its oil wars, its leniency with countries like Saudi Arabia (a country that has no equal in human rights violations), the USA is not a global force for democracy and freedom, but an imperial colonial force, and that wants to continue that way.

If the U.S. Captains of industry hadn't outsourced so much manufacturing, engineering & computer training to Asia to save money for themselves, China would still be an agrarian people and wouldn't pose such an economic threat to America today. Also policy-makers on worker's rights & wages have directly created this situation. They contributed to China's wealth and rise to power at the expense of the American people for decades by outsourcing jobs and training. They are solely and sorly to blame and should be held accountable by being stripped of their rights and privileges. A reset should be made where manufacturing and training takes place on home soil and proper wages given to American workers. But, alas, it's too late to undo the current situation: the genii is well and truly out of the bottle.

Great interview! Blinken made his point very clear in his first sentence. “China, it is the one country in the world that has the military, economic, diplomatic capacity to undermine or challenge the rule-based (US-prioritized) order we care so much about and determine to defend. I want to be very clear about something, and this is important. Our purpose is to contain China, to hold it back, to keep it down. It is to uphold this (US-prioritized) order that China is posing a challenge to. Anyone who poses a challenge to that, we are going to stand up and defend it.” He is taking about the fact, it is not just for China, Japan and Soviet Union are the precedents.

Huawei got banned not bc of security - but it sold more mobile phone than apple. Apple's iphone market share skyrocketed after the ban. Why wr dont hear blenkin say suing china for IP theft? A lot of people are commenting here critiquing the US’ stance on China by pointing out its hypocrisy-
The irony of course, is that we are critiquing in the English language, freely, without fear of retaliation.
US hegemony is not detrimental to those whose first language is English. People will eventually have to choose a side, should something as truly unfortunate as a global conflict between two competing hegemony truly transpire.

      Nope. Wrong.
The Chinese communists clearly won the Chinese civil war and 25% of the world’s human population simply cannot be ignored. One way or another, “Red” China was going to have to be dealt with. The US could either engage when China was weak and get something from the relationship or stick its head in the sand and pretend that China didn’t exist until it was too strong to be ignore and was able to dictate the terms of the relationship. Nixon wisely chose the former.

Even the Communists don’t believe in Communism anymore. The CCP is definitely Leninist (meaning single party run by mandarins) but it is not Marxist (meaning the government does not own the means of production), nor is it totalitarian. In China, you can work for whoever you want, marry who you want, travel abroad and start a business if you want. That’s not totalitarian.
Also, there are more billionaires in China than there are in the US; the middle class in China is as large as the entire population of the United States. Not bad for a Communist country.
