Most people miss that the lead guitarist Chris DeGarmo keeps up with Geoff Tate vocally. What a band and I got to see them live when they did the whole Operation Mind Crime and Empire albums. Their show live is a visual orgasm and they're massave storytellers. I feel special to have seen them live.
For me, "QUEENSRYCHE" with this line-up, they are the Greatest Progressive Metal band of all time. You can pick any song that they have created and it will be awesome to hear.. please react to more QUEENSRYCHE music. 🔥
Listen to "I Will Remember" "Is there anybody listening?" "Killing Words" and "No Sanctuary" Geoff Tate was an incredibly versatile singer he was especially expressive on the aforementioned tracks.
You're right about Steve Perry. If Foolish Heart and Wheel in the Sky aren't enough proof of his smooth, superhuman range, the IDK. Tate and Perry. Both GOATS.
Great reaction! Your facial expressions say everything. IMO Geoff Tate (lead vocals) was the king of metal vocalists in the 80s. Scott Rockenfield is an amazing drummer.
Yes! Definitely try "Eyes off a stranger" or "I don't believe in love". This was a showcase Geoff as a badass song lol Their later works like the albums Operation Mindcrime and Empire introduces you to his lower vocal range. The band was so good and he's been my favorite vocalist for years.
Heck yeah, Geoff Tate is the man! Too bad these guys can't get it back together, they were untouchable. Big, big rabbit hole. They put out a concept album in the late 80s called "Operation Mindcrime" that is mindblowing - I got to see them perform the whole thing all the way through, it was unbelievable! You could check out songs from it, but it seems very disjointed to me when the songs are out of context like that. Those songs would be "Eyes Of A Stranger" and "I Don't Believe In Love". Also, "Queen Of The Reich", "Empire", "Walk In The Shadows", my favorite "Gonna Get Close To You", and their humongous hit "Silent Lucidity". Have fun, I'm here for it all!
During their Empire tour they did an hour set with the finale being this song. Then they did the entire Operation Mindcrime album. Top 5 show in my life.
Geoff Tate trained in operatic singing. He was a perfectionist and that took its toll on his bandmates. I saw them live back in 90s in Seattle and the show was flawless.
Another incredible vocalist is Miljenko Matijević of SteelHeart. The songs “She’s Gone”, “I’ll Never Let You Go”, and “Can’t Stop Me Lovin’ You” are all amazing.
Just a note on this....Geoff was 19. 19!!!! He wasn't even old enough to walk into a bar, and order a beer! But he held the world in the palm of his hand, with his voice.
40 years 🎂 Geoffrey Tate of Queensryche, Ann Wilson and her youngest sister Nancy Wilson of Heart ❤, the late Layne Staley of Alice in Chains and the late Chris Cornell of Soundgarden lived in Metro Seattle in the 1970s. They were students of the late singing coach David Kyle. Marilyn Horne and Frederica von Stade, who moved to my hometown area, the Bay Area, were 2 of his classical music students. Written by Geoffrey Tate and Chris DeGarmo. Great 👍 Suggested video 📹: 1 Queensryche performs Queen of the Reich 2 Gretchen Wilson and Heart ❤ perform Crazy on You.
Big rabbit hole. Eyes of a stranger, operation mind crime the whole album Check any song off the empire album Look it up it takes forever to type it Walk in the shadows Off the rage for order album, I can go Vine forever with how great these guys are in the amount of great songs. The original line up nothing could beat it
Great reaction and narrative and appreciation for the music. Took into consideration everything and all the instrumentation. Excellent observations, especially the drummer. This live performance was almost unbelievable and supernatural. Terrific request. This lead singer looked like a young Elvis Presley. Almost too much to take in at once.
check out i will remember and killing words both on MTV's unplugged the lady wore black live in Tokyo in my opinion Geoff tate is the greatest vocalist of all time queensryche was in a league of their own that great of a band
Just think, this was the next to last song of the concert. In 1984, there was no auto-tune.

Absolutely
FACT! Saw that show in Tampa, flawless....
Well said. Saw them do Operation: Mindcrime 3x...1989, 1991 and 2003
And that good people....is how we did it in the 80's. 😀
You should definitely go down this rabbit hole!
Revolution Calling needs to be next.
For me, "QUEENSRYCHE" with this line-up, they are the Greatest Progressive Metal band of all time. You can pick any song that they have created and it will be awesome to hear.. please react to more QUEENSRYCHE music. 🔥
Eyes of a stranger is a good place to go drone here for queensryche
Steve Perry's voice could break hearts. Geoff Tate's could break windows. Both phenomenal singers, but, come on........
Geoff Tate is the Steve Perry of Metal. Both are GOATS in my opinion. 😁👍💕
Listen to "I Will Remember" "Is there anybody listening?" "Killing Words" and "No Sanctuary" Geoff Tate was an incredibly versatile singer he was especially expressive on the aforementioned tracks.
Great analogy. Rob Halford in the 70's could break some windows as well.
Steve Perry could sing a ballad about a pile of dog poop and make you feel sorry for it 😂 Same with Peter Cetera.
You're right about Steve Perry. If Foolish Heart and Wheel in the Sky aren't enough proof of his smooth, superhuman range, the IDK. Tate and Perry. Both GOATS.

Scott Rockenfield is an amazing drummer.
I'd never heard of them. Great voice!😮
2 hours in and he did this. RUclips have helped recognize retrospectively a total and underrated genius
One of best live songs ever!
Awesome voice & Band. I'm bias cause this was my shit 🤘GenX
Thank you for reacting
In the 90's everybody wanted to be a "ROCK STAR". This group had all the fixins necessary to be classified as Heavy Metal Rock - Prog Rock Blend.
Yes! Definitely try "Eyes off a stranger" or "I don't believe in love". This was a showcase Geoff as a badass song lol Their later works like the albums Operation Mindcrime and Empire introduces you to his lower vocal range. The band was so good and he's been my favorite vocalist for years.
All great !! 👍
They have a ton of killer songs. Another great one is from the same tour "Queen of the Reich".
❤❤❤ Geoff Tate’s voice is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 love Operation Mindcrime !!! 80’s were so much fun !!

In two weeks I will see him live again, here in Hannover, Germany. He's still a great and charismatic vocalist.
During their Empire tour they did an hour set with the finale being this song. Then they did the entire Operation Mindcrime album. Top 5 show in my life.
Wasn't that just awesome or what? That voice. ❤
Saw them 3 times in the 80s. Amazing musicians...all of them
Epic performance!!
My favorite vocalist of all time! What a fuckin' voice. Loved your reactions, good stuff, man.
"Silent Lucidity" is a must listen/watch. 🤘😎
Geoff Tate trained in operatic singing. He was a perfectionist and that took its toll on his bandmates. I saw them live back in 90s in Seattle and the show was flawless.
“Risk it - to get the biscuit.” That’s classic, taking that!
Another incredible vocalist is Miljenko Matijević of SteelHeart. The songs “She’s Gone”, “I’ll Never Let You Go”, and “Can’t Stop Me Lovin’ You” are all amazing.
Mili is one of my faves
You should listen to"Silent Lucitity"..... it's a slower song but you can really hear the purity of Geoff Tates voice!
Vintage 80’s so many more like this
and this was the first encore of a 2 1/2 hr. set
Risk it to get the biscuit!
That’s going to be the phrase of the week for me.
Any song from the video of this show is amazing to watch.
Good comparison to Steve perry but Geoff Tate has a lot more range Operatic trained
Geoff is the GOAT, heck he’s 65 and still sounds pretty good to me.
Just a note on this....Geoff was 19. 19!!!! He wasn't even old enough to walk into a bar, and order a beer! But he held the world in the palm of his hand, with his voice.
You most likely won't be disappointed by any of Queensryches songs!!
Great reaction brother 🤘🏻...nailed the meaning of the song 🎵 💯🎵 appreciate you
Many other great Queensryche songs
and this was their encore performance.
Word!!!!!
The singer just played in my area two nights ago.
40 years 🎂

❤ this band
Geoff (Jeff) Tate is the singer's name
Geoff Tate still singing live. Will be in Albuquerque NM soon.
It's amazing how it sounds exactly like the soundtrack. Just saying.
