      I remember the last time I bought a vehicle, I went to several different car dealerships over the course of a few days. At one dealer the salesman was brand new. First words out of his mouth were "What can we do to get you in a truck today?" I said, "Well I'm just looking today." 5 minutes later he comes back, makes some small talk and asks again, "What can we do to get you in a truck today?" I replied, "Nah man, I'm just looking. I'm gonna keep looking for a few days and then make a decision." 5 minutes later he comes back, makes more small talk and for a third time asks, "What can we do to get you in a truck today?" This time I replied, "Guess I wasn't clear. Let's try this: There ain't a god damn motherfucking thing you can do to get me in a vehicle today. Capisce?" Then he left me alone. Like I get it dude you gotta sell cars but fuck. You also gotta listen.

    I remember walking into a dealership for a used car a few years back.. I settled with the salesman on a price for car.. it was around the 13k range. Boom. Sit around for nearly two hours as they draft the paper work. Paperwork is ready so i go to the financing office to review. Final paperwork shows price at 18k. These fools added a bunch of silly fees amounting to 5k lol. I looked at it & said y'all ain't gonna do me like this. Take off all them fees, add ons & keep the title & registration fee only. They said they couldn't so i left. They take long to draft paperwork so you're sitting around exhausted so when you see them final numbers you just sign out of said exhaustion & boredom.

I went to the dealership by myself and the salesman was really nice, I was looking at a used cobalt that I eventually got but this guy was smiling thinking I was ready to sign the papers and I told him I had to check on my command first and his whole attitude changed. He went from smiling and a happy guy to depressed almost angry

      Lmfao. I haven’t sold cars in years. I was next to fort Bragg and I hated it when the soldier said that. 9 times out of 10 your deal was done l, the biggest issue I would have is usually the soldier was a first time car buyer with no credit and we couldn’t get them a good interest rate. So when you’d come back with the NCO who most likely had a 850 credit score he’d treat you like dog shit thinking his soldier should get the same interest rates as he can and make you leave. In the end they’d usually buy somewhere else with the same high interest rate but the first sales guy was the one who put the bad taste in his bosses mouth so he loses.
      If the soldier came on the lot with his nco first visit it was much better. Man I was in Car sales for 15 years and I dont miss it one bit lol

      By federal law, any payment in cash over $9,000 triggers an audit that they are supposed to run on you and the that means a ton of extra paper work for the dealer ship and if the IRS discovers your money is funny, the dealer ship shoulders the burden. Real Playas and gangsters, like myself only give $7500 max.

    I doubt I'll ever go to a dealership again. I bought a new car in 2015, and traded up in 2017 on account of needing something a little bigger (Mazda 3 to Mazda CX5). I went ahead and paid it off last year just to get rid of the note, and being that it's newer and is reliable, as well as being a top safety pick + as far as crash test ratings, I feel comfortable having my wife and son being in it. Meanwhile, when it came to needing a second vehicle, I opted to buy used and put the work in. I happened to already have a 2004 Grand Cherokee Limited that I bought from auction on a whim a couple years prior (intentions of investing minor effort to simply flip for profit), but ended up liking it...so I spent many weekends out there replacing parts and restoring it. Saved a ton of money going that route and I don't see that changing in the future. I hate car payments and hate how overpriced parts for newer vehicles are. Total scam.

    • @wflyer7985
      @wflyer7985 2 года назад

      I agree with putting in the work and fixing up your car instead of having a car payment. That’s if the car is still repairable. Believe me, I see these brand new Rams, Tundra’s, F-150s. I’d love to have something like that. But my 2006 Tacoma with 275k refuses to die. I replace some things here and there, but it’s saving me from a car payment of $550+. When the time comes to get a new car, (hopefully it won’t be for a while,) I’m definitely getting EXACTLY what I want.

      Bought a nice used car 3 years ago and did the financing through the sales company. Only thing I did was to get a statement in writing that there would be no penalty for early payment if I wanted to get rid of the last few months. Got the blanket no prepayment statement, bought the car, paid the low down payment, took the papers back in the next week and paid the car off. Paid no interest and got the lower payment. They tried to get me not to pay it off because they gave me the lower price for their financing the car. The no prepayment close in writing gave me the clout to get the price I wanted. They are still mad at me. I know because I am friends with one of the new salesman and they tell this story to all of the new people.
