    Yes - that is what I think about the people of Russia too :) I hope to come to Russia one day, and see more of your culture. I love the Russian language, I am fascinated by the food culture - and art history - I am also very fascinated by Systema. Love, - Nina

    The Translation was said and done by Valerie Vasiliev, (Vladimir Vasilievs Wife, who is Russian) and so professional!

    Thank you for posting this. She did an ok job of translating this, however, it could have been better. What he said in Russian was deeper than the translator could explain.

    I did hear Fedor, or one of his trainers, say that Fedor keeps that bland expressionless look to prevent adrenal dump.
    As for "stanceless", systema is more concerned with real life situations. You are trying to compare apples and oranges. If someone tries to sucker punch you walking down the street what stance are you in? If you get into a verbal confrontation do you immediately start bobbing around in a Muay Thai stance? If it escalates do you take 3 minutes jabbing to feel your opponent out?

    its quite challenging to do what saids especially in a physical confrontation its hard not to be angry. Everyday I try but still need practice.

    I've had the opposite experience, I had taken traditional and the sport arts for years. Systema makes a ton of sense to me.
    So if you get in a verbal confrontation on the street that might get physical do you leap into a stance?

    You teacher martial arts? I'd like to learn from you. I'll be coming back to Canada (Toronto) in the summer for a couples of weeks. Are you around that way?

    "human beings are no better or worse than animals"
    That's a sad thought to me.
    It would be impossible to understand the depth of what he is saying here without understanding the difference

    @minimalista242 All martial arts demonstrations have this. There's no REAL attack by the uke. It's TRAINING that you see.

    Do you think the translation is accurate?

  • @recshooter
    @recshooter  15 лет назад

    Yes I understand what you believe. I wasn't trying to be insulting in anyway. If you don't believe the spiritual aspect of where he is coming from as a Christian, believing man to be set apart from animals, I don't see how this speech would have much depth for you. If it does that's great.

    @recshooter lol good point. I'm amazed that someone who studies martial arts would be as narrow minded as dmitrikonovich123

    uuuuhhhmmm I think he is saying that things like battle fatigue and high stress reveal the true person....eh he is also standing on a mat that 100 % of scientists call blue.

    Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if any of these things have worked in real life..why throw them out? So "combatives" doesn't use any of the methods or techniques of any other martial arts? hmmmmmm

  • @recshooter
    @recshooter  15 лет назад

    so in this mystical "combatives" class do you beat people up every class? I would guess you do since anything else would be fantasy....please show some of these classes! Perhaps a class is something you do "WITH" people...hmm what do you call it then? Practice? No because practice isn't reality is it? You couldn't practice "TO" somebody? Very fascinating indeed! Thanks for the laughs

    Dmitri. You like push-button game as opposed to 'natural' game it seems. Your judgement on 'method' is not to be trusted.
