1:09:08 pushing a target to bypass protection seems wrong. That would suggest that you could push someone out of mace Windu range 5 aura or wrecker range 3 to bypass protection or standby. Or what if your pushed into these auras would you gain these effects during the attack.
Sadly, that is how it works. Because of when damage is applied, if they fail to meet the condition to have protection, then they no longer reduce damage by one. Also works in the inverse. If you are able to shove them into a protection aura, or other condition to gain protection, before damage is applied, then they would reduce damage dealt
It’s not. Protection removes one damage from the damage pool. The damage pool is only applied in step 9 of the attack timing. A shove from the damage tree would happen in step 8. Therefore you can shove someone out of being able to have protection.
For the B1's, while any character in the unit is contesting an active objective, the whole unit has protection. So they should have had protection the entire time.
I think pack hunter does not stack, it says only when the enemy character that is engaged with another allied CT char, adds 2 dice to the attack, not FOR EACH another allied CT ... but maybe i am wrong.
Viewer commented correction: We mixed up Pack Hunter and Fearless and Inventive. The Wolf Pack/Wolffe added too many dice when using Pack Hunter

You got it right, it probably got mixed up with Fearless and Inventive, which is an ability that adds two per person engaged.
