I am looking at this one day before king charles' coronation. I just watched this same episode on the day of the coronation, I'm sure many people wonder what Elizabeth and Charles were thinking during those moments as they were crowned and anointed, and soon William will be crowned king in the near future
Yeah, I think he did. In this scene the way he explained everything I think he grew to regret it. And the way he said “I turned it down for something greater” it sounded like he did grow to regret it.
I watched an old documentary that was made on him, and all his friends and people that worked for him admitted he never regretted it, as long as Wallis was by his side, the only thing he didn't like was that no one in his family accepted his wife.
Gives me chills all the whole scene but specially when someone asked him you rejected to be a god and he turns his head to Wallis amd said for something greater still. ♥️
I’ve done a little reading on the abdication crisis recently and this show portrays both of them (though particularly Wallis) in a far more sympathetic light than they deserved. Wallis was completely self-interested and definitely a narcissist. She was still married to her second husband when she basically became David’s (Edwards’s pre-regal name) concubine. Edward meanwhile was quite content for a while to bring down his own government and split the country down the middle so he could marry her before he finally accepted abdication.
funny enough it seems Wallis actually was content not being his wife or Queen. So yeah I'm sure she was self interested but a lot of the shit people were saying was propaganda. Though there's a chance she was a Nazi affiliate@@cobbler9113

I'm here after the Queen's passing 🕯️
1:26 That's the Tiara that Meghan Markle wore at her Wedding
No it's not. Margaret wore the Halo Scroll tiara at the coronation, the same one that Kate wore at her wedding, not Meghan. Meghan wore the Queen Mary bandeau tiara. Here is a link to a pic of Margaret in her tiara at the actual coronation. royalwatcherblog.com/2016/09/22/royal-flashback-september-22/
Brilliant scene
God save the Queen 👑
On May 6th next year, we will witness it once again. This time a man, Charles Philip Arthur George, will be crowned King Charles III
This scene hits different today 🇬🇧
"God save The Queen."
God:I will.
I wonder if most people realize what it means when we shout “God save the Queen”. We are praying for the eternal salvation of her Majesty through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. This should be our prayer for all humankind.
Hoy 9/8/2022 ha muerto nuestra querida Reina Isabel II
Reminds me so much of the final scene in "Hereditary".
I saw parts of that movie. What happened at the end that was so similar to this scene?
@@solpricetrojan1626 It's also a coronation
Omg! I was just thinking that same thing! 😱 This scene is beautiful, sublime, and really moved me, while that scene in Hereditary traumatised me and gave me the creeps big time. But, they are similar somehow.
Rechazar ser un "Dios" por AMOR es un acto que solo un valiente lo puede hacer.
Just imagine, in a few years Charles will go through it. And then his son
More like in a few centuries
More like none of them will be ever crowned at all
I don't think Charles will ever be King. It'll pass to his son after the Queen dies or abdicates.
Elizabeth will outlive us all.
I don't think Charles will sit in the throne
1. Edward got passed by his younger brother, George because he married a divorce woman and he choose her over the throne
2. Charles also married a divorce woman
3. Queen Elizabeth II is immortal
Fantastic video ♥♥
0:45 ngl that bit always annoys me. Like you're some great paragon amongst me, dude! You're just some has-been at your sad little diss-party, watching from afar on tv like everyone else. And yes, I get it, it's probably supposed to show his inner conflict and bitterness and tiny shred of regret for what he gave up. But still, dude, ERII's been kind and respectful toward you, and she's not the reason you got your ass kicked out of the family. Have a little gratitude.
I want this for my daughter when she takes over all my work as the new boss
No matter how grand and rich the royal family may seem. I wouldn’t trade it for my free life.
It's not a choice. It's a duty.
Miss Thing I would 🤚🏻
@@Isa-Ramos13 It seems that you and I are watching a totally different show. Life on Palace of Baggiham is a hell! A living prison!
I won't be picky. I'd grab the crown like a vaccine for coronavirus.
@@sidbid1590 LOL!
Still wondering if tomorrow we will see on TV the moment of Charles III anointing.
