    Leading a pro league in Points Rebounds and Blocks is crazy. As long as this guy stays on the court he's gonna dominate in the league

      I don’t think he is gonna stay on the court he is gonna be Yao Ming at best his feet will be his biggest problem. I hope not but history says this

    • @Arunika1
      @Arunika1 Год назад +7

      @@dclay2343 he’s a bit different than the other big mans. Yao ming is heavy af thats why he’s injury prone and as time progresses, his feet gave out. Wemby is proportional for his height, thats why he’s able to move like a guard despite being that tall unlike other 7’0s

    I love how patient he is on the defensive end. Doesn’t jump at pump fakes and puts his hands up rather than swipe and jump at everything. Very disciplined defender

  • @siphillis
    @siphillis Год назад +66

    The thing that impresses me most is that his body seems oddly proportional at 7'4, rather than stretched out like many seven-footers. The fluidity and agility of his movement really do border on guard-like, with his closest comp being a maxed-out MyPlayer.

    What's crazy is that at some point, he's going to be an automatic bucket when he get's the ball one on one near the baseline or at the elbow. I know everyone focuses on the 3-pt shot, but with his shooting touch, height, and reach, his mid-range and post game is going to be what makes him elite offensively.

  • @gallici-anima-christiana
    @gallici-anima-christiana Год назад +10

    He reminds me of Dirk offensively, remember that he trained with Nowitzki's personnal coach. So he learned a things or two from him and his shooting mechanics look very similar. Defensively it's safe to say Rudy Gobert, they've also trained together and he can do almost all of the things that Rudy can do and some others things better than Rudy. Him and his coach when he was playing for ASVEL talked about making him guard ball handlers for the duration of games, if there's guys they wouldn't know how to stop they would put Wemby on him. That didn't happen because of the nature of that particular season, but well a smart coach would at least experiment with that in the NBA... We've seen Pop putting Sochan on pointguards, that could very well be the case with Victor too, when Curry, Lillard, KD or Doncic put up 20 points in a quarter for exemple and that even Sochan can't stop them. If Wemby's personnal team end up working well with the Spurs coaching and development staff, the Spurs as a whole are going to become so much better and way more efficient. Like we're talking about visionnary methods of training, fitness, rest etc. Something on LeBron's equipment level but for the entire team, because that's what Victor is about. He wants to develop the entire franchise, all the facilities etc. If the Spurs make the financial investments they will be on the cutting edge of sports innovations, because they're bringing those kind of people in and that kind of player. Victor wants to improve things. And the leader that he is is underrated, when you see everything that his team went through during the season, he pulled them together and brought them to the quarter finals, they might win the Pro A championship at this point.

  • @michaelahurt
    @michaelahurt Год назад +5

    To me the biggest concern besides injuries is 1) whether he wants to be AD or KP on offense and 2) if he picks the later can he develop into a plus shooter. He should be an elite defender from day 1 so the ceiling is just a matter of shot diet, skill development and strength.
    He'll be an elite lob threat but if teams can just switch or put a wing on him like they do KP or Rudy and not care about his 1 ppp on post ups that really changes the impact. He has to be able to punish switches like AD.

In playoffs his team (which wasn't good till he came in) is 1 win from the finals... and will play against Monaco, really close to be in Euroleague finals : he can be MVP of the finals and win the championship. Ok it's not NBA : far from it. But it's a pro league with grown men, not HS or College teams. Sure nobody can be sure he will be healthy : if he gain muscles and improves 2 or 3 things, Wemby will be... something !!!

      defensively will also be an issue as he'll be playing amongst much more skilled and stronger players and a way to counterattack his length and rim protection is when guys draw him out the perimeter or beat him off the dribble and finish strong at the rim but that can be said for any 7ft rim protectors in the league rn

    He's gonna be defensive poy. And best defender in the league day 1. His IQ on offense is gonna need to improve. It will under pop. I see pop using him for rim protection and paint defense/boards on D. On offense hell use him on the block with a turn around j. Timmy style 2.0. There will literally be no need for wemby to work anywhere on offense but the corner 3 and the paint in pops eyes. He will not do point center, he won't be shooting elbow threes. He won't be playmaking too much. He run some motion, pnr, pnpop, and post up. Pop will turn him into tim Duncan 2.0.

      @@ljgittingeriii3199 While at Houston, Harden was superb in the regular season; but greatly struggled in the playoffs. WHY?? The refs allows much more physical play in the playoffs. Finesse players becomes much less effective in the playoffs. In these highlights, Wembanyama has no effective defender on him, totally absent of physical play. The NBA is a different game, everyone is good, not just one or two good player on a team.
