I recently ordered this template and was wondering if it would be possible to create a tutorial on how to add a progress bar to indicate each student's progress in each course (collection or folder of lessons)?

Hey its actually super easy to do and probably wouldn't need a whole video!
Just go to a student page and add a new property ROLLUP, and select the Lessons database. Then in the rollup settings select checkbox and percent checked. That should do it :)

Hi Milo thanks for your super helpful video! I am currently y trying to organise my lessons with Notion. I have a question regarding lessons and students. When you add lessons to a student’s profile and click the “done” checkbox. Doesn’t that checkbox show as done in all of the rest of the students who would have that lesson as well? Since the lessons belong to a database and each student profile simply has a linked database of all the lessons. Clicking on “done” for a lesson would automatically show it as “done” anywhere else you link that database. I hope I explained myself correctly. This is something I’m wondering if we can see which students have done such lesson and which ones have not. Thanks again for all you do!!

Yes you are correct. If you have one lesson and tag that lesson to multiple students, checking the box will show on that lesson across all students tagged to that lesson.
One thing you could do if create a Relation Property and link it to students. Then call that Property "Students Completed" or something. Then when a student is done a lesson, just tag that student to the propety. This way you could see which students have completed the lesson or not.

No but you could use the student page as one. What do you need out of a client portal? I could add one quickly if you'd like

@@notion4teachers I shared it, but the parent was asking for access to other parts of my dashboard. Will they be able to see my other students?

@@Casey-cu4hh If you just gave permission to the parent to see the one student page that's fine. However, if you made the entire template public or invited the parent to view the student database then they will be able to see the other student. hope this helps!

Milo. I am just getting started into Notion and contemplating the architecture of things. How are your students able to gain access to your material (lessons, notes etc.)? Are they making their own free accounts or paid accounts or are you creating team spaces and paying to cover those cost yourself? I am not a private tutor but rather k12 teacher with 150 students to manage and I am not sure I can actually deploy what I envision. Any insights are appreciated.

Hey sorry for the late reply!
All of the Notion4Teacher templates (excluding the classroom manager) are intended for use by the teacher only. All of the planners are not to be shared with the students - they should be used to help you organize your own material.
Having shared spaces, whereby the students have their own Notion accounts, can work well with small private classes and distance learning. But with 150+ students it starts to get crazy unless you have a lot of experience with operating teamspaces in Notion.
