2:00 Yes it is a waste of money, sure, still, I love it ad use it on my Panasonic S9 together with Sigma 45 mm compact lens. Before buying I watched your video a number of times to fully understand what was the idea of the designer engineers when they made this external optical finder. This is still very expensive foer what is is, a collector item.
You have mentioned some of the best points about the software. Unfortunately for many of us, paying is a much better solution. The software is simply too slow - maybe that's changed since its been a while since I've used it.
@@MikeMu Thanks for the reply. Firstly I am an electrician! I have very limited photo experience but SPP just worked for me. I was amazed at the .x3f file results. I have purchased On One Photo Raw and Luminar 3 ( I purchased On One as Luminar was crashing constantly) I visited Poznan and have these : flic.kr/s/aHsmGRExmj While Im learning Im happy with what Sigma have assisted with!
Good review Mike and I've had it and the 0, but for my part, this is not near the IQ medium quality of the Merill DPM series ... So now I go for the whole series of Merill. And of course i must have two of each of these amazing cameras :)
Hey knut olson. Thanks for the comment. I have not had the pleasure of trying out the Merill DPM series but your comment about the IQ from that series is one I hear quite a bit. Do you know any good links to image quality comparisons side by side between the Merill and Quattro sensors? One awesome thing going for the Quattro and DP series is now you have the option to use lightroom or any DNG capable processor to process images if you don't need absolute control of everything. (I really dislike using the Sigma Photo Pro software - can you tell?).
I'm OK with the ergonomics. Shooting experience is not up-to-standard. The Sigma RAW processing software is the true crappy experience. But the image quality in the right conditions is breathtaking, and now it supports DNG so at least I can use lightroom. It is truly a love / hate relationship still.
I actually like the ergonomics of the camera. At first glance it's pretty unorthodox in comparison to other camera's but there's a video on RUclips that show's you how to properly hold it. My only issue is how it fits in my camera bag. Also the pro-photo is actually the best RAW processor for these files when it comes to handling noise. Usually what I do is just do an initial exposure and noise correction then convert to tff for import to PS, LR or Affinity for final edits

@@MikeMu It has recently been updated, if you increase in the preferences to use more memory and GPU acceleration it should perform better.
Thanks! Appreciate the update. Will try it out.
I would not call that easy.

I didn't like the manual focus implementation of the dp2 I went with that SD Quattro I can live with that view finder
What a beautiful camera, but unfortunately Bad Ergonomics, Crappy shooting experience
