Nirvana - Old Age Acoustic Cover

- Old age has a interesting story behind it. At first Kurt wrote and recorded his own acoustic 4 track home demo of it. Dissatisfied with the song, he gave it away to Courtney Love. It then made its first public appearance in 1993 as the B-side to Hole's "Beautiful Son" single and re-appeared on the "Violet" single two years later - credited to Courtney Love as its sole author. But the song was persistently rumored to have Cobain's hand in it somewhere. "That's a Nirvana song. Kurt wrote that song," Novoselic told The Stranger in 1998, and indeed, With the Lights Out included Nirvana's Nevermind-era recording of the song (albeit with almost entirely different words). Still, their version is half-formed - it's the only known original song from that era that the band never played live, and Kurt seemed uncertain of the lyrics he was mumbling.

Man, it's hard to believe I've been subscribed to you for like over 8 years. I can vaguely remember that you're a math teacher, but I've learnt to play guitar with your covers, so for me you've been my first guitar teacher. Thank you for this, truly. hi man, by the way, before I'll start to expain what I'm about to say, I really like what you did with all your nirvana covers, the tone is exact the same even though I know there's the track but you literally do the same chords and you're the most accurate when it comes to nirvana covers, I really enjoy them.
so, I look down on your amp to get a grungy tone and you have this mustang iv amp and damn that's the exact tone and I'm so amazed.
unfortunately I don't have the budget to get the iv one, so I look forward to buy a mustang ll, 40 watt and I think it's more than enough for my usage, do you think it's a good amp or is it really worth it to get a similar tone? if you're going to read this, thank you so much to have used your time to read this :))
Hey, and thx. Not sure about that amp as I never played one,. having said that, to get Kurt's tone you need to cranck up the volume quite a bit. At least that's my experience. And of course the Mustang IV has 2x12" speakers, and the Mustang II is a smaller amp. I know a Mustang IV should prob go for about 150 dollars or maybe less if you buy used, so maybe check that out..

@@Tomnedreb I believe it's Kurt cuz it's nothing but power chords, sounds like a melody he'd create, and the voice sounds just like Kurt. I can't mistake Kurts voice so that's gotta be him
@@devonjones5200 Nah, have to disagree. The guitar playing is the main thing that gives it away. Kurt plays with way better technic than the person in that song. Even if he was stoned and drunk he would not play as bad. But the voice similarity is stunning though.
@@Tomnedreb I thought the guitar playing sounded like Kurt cuz it's simple power chords the entire song. Kurt was known for using mostly power chords. And that voice tho. Tell me that don't sound like Kurt. I don't think even the best Kurt impersonator could sound just like him cuz to me it sounds exactly like Kurt. U should listen to excuse again n see if it sounds like him to you
