This is an ancient Scottish folk song from the inner Hebrides. & Northern Ireland. It was originally sung as a lullaby to British & Irish children through hunger , war & troublesome times before 43AD. It was part of the 'deer dance' at one time around two swords at clan festivals. My great great grandfather told my dad when he was alive. I'm half Scottish from Caithness.

I love the Celtic culture and music though I have no relation to them. And this song is so beautiful. I remembered it a few days ago and was humming it. :)))
T Hitsugaya Indeed. The Celts didn't just hail from the Isles. The Gaelic Clans, the Germanic tribes, and the Sarmatians are just a part of what was considered Celtic. The Ancient Greeks had the term Keltoi, it essentially meant someone who lived to the North. This broadly meant that most of what is now Europe was considered Celtic territory. Above the Celts were the Hyperboreans, or the Norse.
+Tatiana Kostik, really hard to know without the DNA tests. My ancestry which I have documented via genealogy is all Germanic names with some family stories of Irish blood but nothing to back them. Well DNA test was very surprising in that it showed >15% Irish for me and also showed Italian, Swede, Norwegian and Finn ancestry (which there were no family stories about).

@@christopherwulf I'm SOOO excited for you! 😁 You have achieved something that you have craved and deserved all of your life! Did you go to school or start a trade? I'd love to know more about your special place too. I think it's wonderful and I'm so very happy and proud of you! I hope that you'll continue to improve your life, career, and home, along the way. Our gardens have been fantastic this year, and the family time spent canning, and freezing the vegetables over great conversations is even more valuable than that. Peeling and cutting fresh peaches for pints of jam devolved into throwing slippery peach pits at each other and laughing hysterically! These are home, memories of special recipes and times together. There's an immense sense of wellbeing that comes from bettering one's self, and beating the odds. Do some simple home improvements yourself, plant a fruit tree, flowers, or a little garden. The feelings of self reliance and accomplishment are tremendous! I hope you'll make many acquaintances and from them, a few great and true friends. We can learn something valuable from nearly everyone we meet. Fill your home and celebrate often, a game day, friday night pizza, sunday dinners with friends etc. Lend a hand to a neighbor in need, build community. There's a very special someone out there who's hoping and dreaming of you...believe this, and let me know when you meet! Take care of and be happy with the smallest of things. Love to you and yours!
This song is everything to me.. My brother's bestefriend died of cancer and this song was playing at his funeral. My brother's bestfriend loved this song and played it the last time for him at his funeral
Thank you @LEAH❤
A song of yearning for something or somewhere which might not exist anymore... Home is in our hearts and none can ever take that from us!!!
Pleasant, divinely beautiful song .....❤ To everyone homeland is heaven.
God Save The King!
I love the story of king author.I am fighting trying to not give up on my relationship.I love this man these songs put ky soul at ease
I miss my country so much when I hear this beautiful song.
Can anyone explain why my ancestors were Mexican-Indians, Spaniards, French, Italian, African, and Portuguese, but my soul feels such a deep connection with this song. I also feel Celtic music in my soul. Maybe I was Celtic in another lifetime. The song makes me think of a place of pure beauty and tranquility.
Spaniards also descend from Celts. While the Romans dominated the peninsula for centuries, they mixed with them.
@silverlegionary1636 learn something new every day. I will now read into this, as I do love history. Thank you.
My favorite song ever.
Amazing!!! This is perfect music for the spirit and heritage of Europeans! This is about the lands in the north. Hyperboreanz! Look up flatwater flat earths reading of the smoky god. Look up very old maps of the north. It’s where arians come from.( endo Europeans).
This song speaks volumes for me. As to whether it is the call of my own mountainous home or what, I don't know, but it has a power unbeknownst to me.
What gets me is this song never got the recognition it deserved.
Relaxing and beautiful.
I can't leave this alone I must have viewed this 100 times I love it and I cry every time I hear it ✌🏻peace n love everyone
I wish I had heard this while I was recovering. Beautiful voice!
Marvelous!

Mom sang this to me & my brother as kids. Gramma & Poppa sang it to her as a baby. Gramma was from Galway, Pop was from Edinburgh, moved to the States after the war. Its beautiful. God bless yas
This is absolutely stupendous.....i love the movie and this song...your rendition is beyond words. Much respect all the way from INDIA. :)
I still feel crying for this song
Ohne Worte . Heimat .
This scene was very emotional, as we Hmong warrior that lived in the high mountains also gave our services to superior power U.S.A during the Vietnam war under the Secrete war in Laos. When the U.S. pull out we were Exiled and been living in hiding in the U.S. for over 40yrs.
Waiting to go home across the Mountains.
I thought the movie was really good. I wish more people would watch it. It is one of the best soundtracks that I listen to.
This was my lullaby for my daughter
I love the Celtic culture and music though I have no relation to them. And this song is so beautiful. I remembered it a few days ago and was humming it. :)))
If you have almost any European blood the odds are high that there's at least one type of Celt mixed in.
Celts have some of the most beautiful natural tunes, brah.
Tatiana Kostik. Everyone has a connection to celtic culture.... For gaelic culture was one that is older then you may think
I am almost home, I am almost home. Just one more dawn, and I shall be home again, and free.
This is one of the coolest things I've ever heard. It's perfect
In gratitude. We are One. The Law of One. Thank Q.
...Land that so ever calls me,
I will go home across the mountains...
Exquisitely gorgeous! I come from a family descended from Simon de Montfort. Have Scottish and British. Love this music...it is perfect and what a voice! Thanks so much for posting it. I can't even count how many times I have listened to it. I am convinced that our genes remember!
Some of my ansestors on my dads side are from the mountains...the feels!!!!!
Cool
Some of my ancestors are from the saxons... *cries in corner*
Luna Glisen yes imagine the mountain wind and rain...yes some of my relatives came from the celtic highlands...I do feel the connection to.
luna dear i have also a family background of moutains i love 2 listen it again and again
Luna Glisen I think anyone who hear this song that's of Irish blood or scotch it take you home always find your heart thank you
If you have moved far away from the geographic area you spent your life in this really hits home.I miss Louisiana so bad.
When i get back from the hilly south middle germany to the north, to my plain fields, where the rivers gently flow and the eyes can reach as far as they want to
Best king Arthur movie ever.
