    Ilike to call the zeiss Milvus lenses series " Eyes of God" . truly insanely amazing image quality.
    I have the zeiss 50mm 1.4 and Your video has convinced me to get this 35mm on my prime line up!
    Thank you so much Dustin!

    Another brilliant and concise review professionally done . I have one question about this f1.4 lens and the other Milvus 35mm f2 lens. Do you know how they compare as obviously the F2 is way cheaper but not sure if it's as good image wise as it's more expensive f1.4 brother.
    Your advise is very welcome. Thank you.

    Great wrap up for a beautiful lens. I was wondering, there is another 35mm f2 by Zeiss, will you be reviewing that any time soon?

      Not anytime soon. I'm really overwhelmed with new equipment right now, with two new camera bodies about about 6 lenses in hand right now.

    I really liked the pace of this video. Really good summary and especially nice photos. You really improved a lot since I started watching. I cannot buy every milvus (have two already (50 & 135) and want to buy another one (maybe 18 or 21)), but I am really in love with the rendering and watch your videos just to see some nice pictures with the Zeiss effect. Thanks again.

      My go to lens for landscapes is the zeis distagon 21mm and I also use the tamron 24-70G2,,which is a exceptional lens. But really you just got to use a zeiss and see the image quality and micro contrast, colour rendition to really appreciate. Yes it’s manual focus but the focusing is so easy and smooth and actually you will go home with more keepers than auto focus. I have several lenses and a crop sensor and full frame D750. I guess it just goes to say the zeiss glass with the D750 just really works and I get asked many times what kind of glass I am using. Zeiss make things just pop out at ya giving a read 3D effect. Hats off to you Dustin,,excellent reviews,,now I should go off a shoot some icebergs seeing it’s the season here in Newfoundland..

    Thanks Dustin to put so much effort into your videos. I got a question regarding the focussing on Canon DSLR. Is the focus always spot on? Because with Nikon it is not. I hope the the Z series will make ad difference though.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  6 лет назад

      It will be a much, much easier proposition with the Z series. The ability to magnify the image in the viewfinder and visually confirm focus makes it a treat, or you can use MF aids.

  • @omeshsingh8592
    @omeshsingh8592 7 лет назад

    Would have been interesting to see a couple of tests under controlled lighting; mainly to establish differences in transmission and vignette. My gut feel is that the Zeiss has worse transmission, which would lead to the general trend of 1/3 stop faster exposure time on many of the Canon shots.
    Also, if you darken the Canon shots by the appropriate exposure level then the Canon darks would become darker and lead to a more punchy look. (With the Lightroom eyedropper you can hover over an element in the image and check the RGB values to confirm differences in brightness.)

      Dustin Abbott I played around with the 35/2 and while it is true the images I've taken at 5.6 for landscape are tremendous. However, while playing around the yard with the lens at f2 the green/purple color in the defocus are was pretty severe. LR corrected it, but I am sending it back to B&H and getting the 35/1.4. I am 6'0" 235 so the weight of the lens is a no issue for me even at age 65. Thanks for your reviews. They are very helpful. My 135/2 arrives Tuesday.

      @Stephane I got the milvus25 a year ago and I’m still extremely happy with! Apart from the strong Vignette, the enormous price and weight, the 25 is near perfect. It is sharper than the Milvus85 and on par with the 135 in almost any way. I wish my skills as a photographer would be as good as that lens:-)

      Many cinematographers are using Milvus or Otus and ever since the Milvus 25mm f1.4 came out the Otus 28mm f1.4 has become a hard sell. So maybe this is it. Zeiss are not in a hurry to promote the Milvus 25mm. You don't see many mention of this lens from reviewers that get to loan from Zeiss and other manufacturers so you might not be alone.
