Experienced golden teacher grower here: Potency very much varies. I'm trying to hone down the recipies for what produces more or less potency. Also working on perfecting a part coffee grounds substrate. These grow incredibly on coffee, however are extremely prone to mold. I believe all conflict between people would end with 🍄. I wish I could help people more but there are so many bot/troll accounts

If you grow pf tek , use 8 oz deli containers. The surface area doubles the yield . Shoe boxs produce a crazy amount when brf or whole brown rice is broken up after colonization with coco coir. I was able to grow a pound in the time brf cakes in my greenhouse grew an 1/4 lb

goldens were my first time shroom and holy fuck on 2.5 grams the visualsi saw when my eyes were closed while listening to meditative music were INTENSE lots of spectral and sacred geometrical patters. They also made me verry emotional.. cried ALOT. but was no where close to a bad trip. And i also must add it put a solid end to my depression and 10 year long struggle with suicidal thoughts for a solid 4 months. which is something anti depressants have never been able to do for me. the depression did come back eventually but in a way its not as bad. For anyone struggling with depression that the meds dont treat. i highly reccomend trying a gram or two brewed into some ginseng tea :)
yeah its seems the psilocin somehow resets the brain to a default mode. just 2 grams could save so many people who suffers from depression and suicidal thought despite they have career,money + + +. I do microdose on shrooms and other psychedelics and I can say it has improved my daily attitude. I'm more focused and feeling less trauma. Unfortunately, there is too much extraneous info leading away from Golden Teacher. Some of the research that I have done indicates that: much like the Endocannabinoid system, with its matrix of enzymes (FAAH, MAGL, etc), there is a largely undefined endogenous DMT system in which all psychedelics act as “antagonist”, down regulating specific enzymes, thus allowing receptors to bind more freely with ( not so much the exogenous agent) but the endogenous 5 Meo DMT, N’N DMT that we produce naturally. This would explain why Wim Hoff makes the statement: We get high on our own supply”. If this is the case, then one would expect to see differences in duration and intensity, however the basic experience would be accessible by a variety of paths, breath work, yoga, meditation, running, etc. personally my most profound DMT re-experience was during a “natal regression” hypnotherapy session, in which the birth experience was recreated to such a degree, that the original DMT release at birth was relived. I did a 2G trip on Christmas Day on GT’s with a couple of friends. I grew them. The growing process was very straightforward and successful. The trip was very sweet with good visuals. Come up and come down were gentle. One of my friends did something that would normally be very triggering to me, but on the mushrooms it was not a big deal and I just rolled with it. I now have a different perspective on this thing that used to be very triggering. I found this new understanding very helpful in navigating my social life. I always gain new insights when I trip on mushrooms. I think tripping on Christmas Day is a new Tradition.
After high school I for some reason got really depressed. I had broken up with my at the time 7 yr girlfreind and lived in the country without a license yet and so all freinds were gone and lost. Melted into the couch while listening to some music and could not comprehend what was going on for about an hour. About 25 minutes after I started packing it down I giggled and said "Oh uh"..... For some reason I watched like an hour long "darkest moments on live TV" compilation that included the corridor singer who got a note from the cartel promising his death if he went on with the show, that Japanese girl who leapt from her balcony during a live stream .... And several stories of severe injuries and deaths in wrestling. I have no idea why that was what grabbed me but shortly thereafter was when I had the missing hour (though I might have just dozed off.... Didn't feel like it though)... Anyway when I came to everything was still in fairly high gear and all together I think it was close to ten hours before I felt close to normal again. Actually last weekend I ate an eighth and had almost as intense an experience .... Must have been a strong batch. When this guy I know's bags start fruiting I'm thinking I'll much down 7 or more Gs in a sitting and see how that goes. I really miss LSD and high mushroom doses kinda approximate it...... My favorite shrooms are Golden Teacher. And I have been eating them and propagating them since 1979. I was getting them from a friend in Mill Valley. I was living in LA. back then. As for dosage I have 40+ years tripping with shrooms. I use what Terry McKenna called "The Heroic Dose." Average 5.5-7 gms. of dry shrooms from what began as a spore print from 1979. My strain is growing wild in Central California, Central Virginia, and Central Upstate N.Y.

I'm sure that all this chemistry and technical analysis is very important, but in my youth in South Wales UK, we just went to the nearby fields (where we knew sheep grazed) and picked as many as we could carry! (Eating them on the way!) I have to be honest though, I and my friends did get into a proper mess sometimes! We would buy wine making kits and replace the provided vegetable matter with shrooms and make mushroom wine - give it a shot! 😛

I first noticed the effects when my cigarette started to bend and would not get any smaller no matter how much I puffed on it...I was amazed about how easy it was to change the atmosphere around me at one point I conjured a storm above my head, which started as a small dark cloud and started spiraling and grew into a full-fledged thunderstorm. I live in Phoenix AZ, so there are saguaro cacti all throughout the neighborhood. I kid you not everyone of them were giving me a big middle finger. I found it hilarious and could not stop laughing, all the while holding a random leaf which pointed and changed direction so my friends and I followed its direction. Another thing I noticed was the all of us had the ability to communicate telepathically with each other.

I took half an 1/8th of magic mushrooms and experienced no visuals but I'm particularly resistant to hallucinations. Anyways after taking them i found everything to be very funny. I spent about and hour just sorta tripping and then i got sick. Threw up once, then I got tired and went to sleep. Woke up the next morning feeling like a million bucks.
This was basically my one experience as well (I didn't get sick though). I felt happier for something like 2 days to a week or so after the experience too. I was amazed how it actually changed my mood like that.

One little minor thing - it's Psilocybe azurescens, not azurensis. -ensis means "originating in". -escens means "turning/becoming". So azurescens means "turning azure." (It really gets a lot darker than that, but it is what it is!)
One important thing to keep in mind about different species is that they’ll require wildly different growing environments and substrates. The vast majority of cultivated psychedelic mushrooms are cubensis because they grow faster and manure is an easier material to work with than wood. People can and do grow other species but if you encounter them, they’re more likely to be foraged in the wild.
Hello Shelby. Can you please do a video on the topic of "Wood Lovers Paralysis" It's been my experience that really no one knows or has even heard of WLP. Out of the hundreds of people I have spoken to throughout my many, many years (I'm almost 50) of using mushrooms and being around the psychedelic community, no one ever mentioned it. I only became aware of WLP because it happened to me out of nowhere while trippin a few years back. The experience scared me so much that I didn't touch mushrooms for many years after the incident. I thought I was having a stroke and came so close to calling an ambulance, luckily my wife was able to calm me down. After many years of trippin on as much as 8.5g of dried mushrooms, having done Ayahuasca many times in Peru and smoked 5meo DMT I thought I had a pretty good handle on trippin but when my vision slowly started to become blurry and then I pretty much couldn't see at all then my right arm started going numb, then my right leg became numb and I couldn't stand then this tingling feeling started crawling up the right side of my neck and face to the point where the whole right side of my face was dropping.... trust me when I tell you I started to panic. I think the whole experience lasted about an hour but because I was trippin so hard it felt like it lasted forever. If I had heard of WLP before hand I wouldn't of panicked and understood that this is something that sometimes happens. I try and tell everyone I know that uses mushrooms about WLP so that they don't freak out and can remain calm. Anyway, it would be great to hear your take on it. Thank you for all your hard work ✌🏻🤍

I ha e only tried srooms once as a 14 year old and they where the uk ones that grow wild in September/October I think they're called liberty caps. But I've had more experience with lsd. I'm an alcoholic in recovery and been sober for 7 years now and I'm getting on abit (43) and want to find myself as I feel a bit lost. There was a really interesting comment made by the breeder of Penis Envy on Hamilton's podcast recently where he said he prefers the azures due to there being a singular entity behind them that resonated with me as I had an experience where a friend offered me a mixed bag of Goldies and Azures and I ate them in my normal Goldie amount and got sent down a journey that made me take a whole new perspective on what was possible and that mixing cultivars or taking a new one in the same dose as the old, is going to lead to really unexpected results. I don't read shroom forums because I don't want anyone else's interpretations to out-form my own, Hamilton's coverage of the PE breeder was so mind blowing - he said over and over he never got it from McKenna, never met the guy. The lingering question remains, what's the co-pilot dose on the azures, by themselves....?
I thought that Rich G. said he preferred Cyanescens.. I can comment on the P. Azurescens however. I've grown some insanely strong 'Golden Teachers'.. enough to blow my mind a few times over compared to any other 'standard' or 'street' cubensis, but the Azzies were simply insane. It was really the first time I've ever encountered them on the east coast (since they are from the pacific northwest) but I've encountered a few that could grow them outdoors in this climate, and boy are they strong. Taking a 5g "heroic dose" of these was akin to 12.5g or much more of a standard cube. It really is insane how potent they can be...

A lot of people don't realize that different strains/phenotypes of cubensis don't just have different potency and appearance but have a very different balance of alkaloids as well. I actually have a physically different reaction to a strain that was an offshoot of APE than most other cubensis I've tried, as when I start to comedown my bp and heartrate skyrocket (the most I took was an 8th, and it was so bad I genuinely believed I was going to die for at least 3-4 hrs), and that's happened all 3 times I've tried it. However, despite trying b+, gt, jmf and malabar coast I've never experienced anything close to that. That said, my experience is of course only anecdotal proof that different strains have a noticeable difference in experience beyond just potency and placebo, so if anyone else has similar or opposing experiences or evidence, I'd love to hear it. :)
I know what it feels like when thing go wrong. My advice is to find a god memory to hang onto it and cling to it as hard as you can until you ride it out. Set and setting do make all the difference. My last few times on shrooms were pure magic. In a natural setting with puffy clouds and mock orange bushes in flower made for an unforgettable experience,. My last experience was over 25 years ago, but I will never forget the joy and being connected to the universe. Sadly my mind is not strong enough to ever do it again, but I am sure glad it did it when I did!
I noticed a difference between multi spore fruits/ all over the place and third generation mono culture/ very organized you see the vibrations of the universe and all things make there own patterns.
I have a chocolate that has 4 different strains in it...everytime I eat it I puke my guts up even a microdose. When I've eaten cubensis from cow fields and golden teachers I never got sick. I think your right it's the many alkaloids throughout the mushroom and multiple mushrooms strains may have totally different chemical structures that your body will not agree with!
It is only within the last few months of starting to really research deeper into magic mushrooms for introspection/healing/spiritual purpose that I realized there were so many different strains. Kind of like you said initially just mushrooms were mushrooms. But I've learned now that golden teachers were the only ones I had ever encountered beforehand. Which I guess makes sense if they are easy to grow I have dried some others now though that have brought me all kinds of different experiences, but I think I'll always have some goldens because it's reliably mellow.

hello, can you have your opinion: I decided to use rye grain, brown rice flour! Substrate coconut fiber. Is it possible to add a first layer of perlite in the box, create a layer of coconut fiber, brown rice flour (colonized grain) shell top layer vermiculite? My idea is to have more nutrients in the substrate! My main question is when to add the brown rice flour (together with the grain in the jars, or in the substrate? Psilocybe cyanescens seams stronger than Cubensis to me. And if you grow a strain and you pick 2 mushrooms that are the same size and weigh the same the potency can be very different in each individual shroom.
@@stevemackenzie8250 cyanescens have about twice the amount of psilocybin and psilocin per dry gram than semilanceata, semilanceata have about 30% more than cubensis. There's also a difference in how potent they are after time, psilocybin content is high in semilanceata, near the 90%, so its potency doesn't degrade rapidly, cubensis has a higher amount of psilocin in it which isnt stable upon contact with oxygen so cubensis can lose upto 40% of its potency over a short period of time.

Dosage: I have found the best way to determine dosage is an intuitive method, either muscle testing (kinesiology) or pendulum. There are UTube videos on each method. Of course use this method in conjunction with others, it isn't gospel. But it does alert you to someone might be especially sensitive. When I started doing groups I went by body weight which was a heavy overdose to a few people. They were completely wiped out, felt out of control and never tripped again. So they lost a potentially powerful path of personal growth. An intuitive method takes into account all aspects of the trip; the tripper's intension, his tolerance, potency, everything. Sitting for a tripper became boring. I have had great success with using intuitive methods but have never heard of anyone else using what seems to me to be an obvious way. I would love to hear from anyone who tries this method. I'd like to see it receive universal use.

Just had 2 grams of GT in a raw cacao brew a few weeks ago. Really nice. Reflective, but also conversational. Was in the redwoods up in the coastal mountains, so it was all about the cool root system "city states" all over the place and the perfect afternoon sunlight. 6:30 a clone of the mycelium will always be true to the initial mushroom. Spores grow mycelium but cannot produce mushrooms until they meet up with another compatible spore with mycelium. They are haploid. The two touch and produce a diploid mycelium capable of producing a mushroom. Shaking the mycelium of a clone just produces more mycelium of the clone and not a brand new variety. If you are using spores the mushrooms you produce will be new individuals with a new genetic makeup.

correct she had it backwards you can hybridize species but not different genus’s. so 2 psilocybes can hybridize but a psilocybe and a panaeolus cannot to my knowledge
@@AJScraps just found out how they make hybrids. they isolate the monokaryotic mycelium (ik i spelled that atrociously dont hate) of each strain on petri dishes then allow them to colonize together either by transferring both to a single dish or putting to liquid culture. when both isolated monokaryotic myceliums meet they form dikaryotic mycelium which produces the fruits. and if the 2 separate strands of monokaryotic are different it results in a hybrid.

I just walked into a store in Washington DC and purchased a half ounce of albino penis envy mushrooms dried. I couldn’t believe it it didn’t seem real they had a variety of 15 different strains of mushrooms however all of them were different CUBENSiS strains. I haven’t had an intense trip in probably 15 years. Back in my younger years I did mushrooms probably close to 100 times every single time I always eat 3.5 g this way it was also much easier to differentiate the potency of different batches because I always stuck to the same those. Out of the close to 100 times most of them are always similar in potency. However one time stood out from all of the rest and ate the same amount as always 3.5 g. Visually the only difference I noticed immediately from all the other times I had mushrooms was the entire eighth was just one mushroom one giant mushroom. Every other time I had an eighth it was comprised of several mushrooms. So that alone made it stand out from the beginning that the whole eight was one big mushroom. It looked like your textbook CUBENSiS white a super golden cap. I had a full out of body experience that night a true spiritual experience I was never the same since that night that batch was light years ahead and potency compared to all the other batches I ever had. As I sent that I have not had a proper trip in well over 10 years. One reason being I couldn’t find things I’m bad with computers and refused to go on the dark web. Also because I have a past of drug addiction to hard drugs the past couple years since I’ve turned my life around I’ve become kind of a permit and I don’t associate with people that look like drug users which is why I used to have a easy time finding things in the past but I stay away from all that because I don’t wanna come across the wrong drugs I’m done with all that I just avoid it completely. So since they were decriminalized in DC and now there’s two different dispensaries selling them I was able to finally make my move. I was able to get some mushrooms a few months ago it was less than 3 g and they were not potent at all I think they were very old and poorly stored. This time I got albino penis envy for the first time and I think it’s a potent batch because there is some extremely intense bluing and a few of them look almost black. Supposedly that means they’re more potent but I also wonder if that could just mean that they were handled more roughly and maybe that’s the only reason that they have so much more bluing. Even though this is gonna be my first time having a serious trip in over 10 years I’m going straight to the heroic those for the first time in my life I weighed out 5.5 g of the dry albino penis envy I’m going to take that dose tomorrow night I ground them up and put it in capsules to make it easier to eat. So 5.5 g of dried mushrooms especially albino penis envy that looks so potent I’m almost guaranteed I’m going to have the most intense trip of my life tomorrow night, I truly need it though I have PTSD from things that happened since my psychedelic use in my youth I completely different person my soul needs to be cleansed by the mushrooms my spiritual batteries need to be recharged badly.

Experienced golden teacher grower here: Potency very much varies. I'm trying to hone down the recipies for what produces more or less potency. Also working on perfecting a part coffee grounds substrate. These grow incredibly on coffee, however are extremely prone to mold.

Hi Matthew, I'm thinking a lot lately about all the coffee grounds I'm pitching out and using them for my GT grows. Are you saying that the mold is more prevalent when you grow with coffee in your sub?
If you grow pf tek , use 8 oz deli containers. The surface area doubles the yield . Shoe boxs produce a crazy amount when brf or whole brown rice is broken up after colonization with coco coir. I was able to grow a pound in the time brf cakes in my greenhouse grew an 1/4 lb

goldens were my first time shroom and holy fuck on 2.5 grams the visualsi saw when my eyes were closed while listening to meditative music were INTENSE lots of spectral and sacred geometrical patters. They also made me verry emotional.. cried ALOT. but was no where close to a bad trip. And i also must add it put a solid end to my depression and 10 year long struggle with suicidal thoughts for a solid 4 months. which is something anti depressants have never been able to do for me. the depression did come back eventually but in a way its not as bad. For anyone struggling with depression that the meds dont treat. i highly reccomend trying a gram or two brewed into some ginseng tea :)
yeah its seems the psilocin somehow resets the brain to a default mode. just 2 grams could save so many people who suffers from depression and suicidal thought despite they have career,money + + +. When I saw the video's title, "Golden Teacher Mushrooms: What Are They?", I thought, this is perfect, just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, there is too much extraneous info leading away from Golden Teacher. This video could have been done in less than ten minutes, and with all the focus directly on Golden Teacher and all of its characteristics--there are so many. Since I was looking for info on GT only, I did a fast forward many times, trying to get to the point of the title.

I did a 2G trip on Christmas Day on GT’s with a couple of friends. I grew them. The growing process was very straightforward and successful. The trip was very sweet with good visuals. Come up and come down were gentle. One of my friends did something that would normally be very triggering to me, but on the mushrooms it was not a big deal and I just rolled with it. I now have a different perspective on this thing that used to be very triggering. I found this new understanding very helpful in navigating my social life. I always gain new insights when I trip on mushrooms. I think tripping on Christmas Day is a new Tradition.

About 25 minutes after I started packing it down I giggled and said "Oh uh"..... For some reason I watched like an hour long "darkest moments on live TV" compilation that included the corridor singer who got a note from the cartel promising his death if he went on with the show, that Japanese girl who leapt from her balcony during a live stream .... And several stories of severe injuries and deaths in wrestling. I have no idea why that was what grabbed me but shortly thereafter was when I had the missing hour (though I might have just dozed off.... Didn't feel like it though)... Anyway when I came to everything was still in fairly high gear and all together I think it was close to ten hours before I felt close to normal again.
Actually last weekend I ate an eighth and had almost as intense an experience .... Must have been a strong batch. When this guy I know's bags start fruiting I'm thinking I'll much down 7 or more Gs in a sitting and see how that goes.

My favorite shrooms are Golden Teacher. And I have been eating them and propagating them since 1979. I was getting them from a friend in Mill Valley. I was living in LA. back then.
As for dosage I have 40+ years tripping with shrooms. I use what Terry McKenna called "The Heroic Dose." Average 5.5-7 gms. of dry shrooms from what began as a spore print from 1979. My strain is growing wild in Central California, Central Virginia, and Central Upstate N.Y.

Wish I could have had some sort of psilocybin therapy before I had to quit my job due to long-term hypervigilance damaging my mental health. Acceptance & Commitment Therapy helped with coping mechanisms, but I was in a tail spin & didn't recognize it at the time.

I first noticed the effects when my cigarette started to bend and would not get any smaller no matter how much I puffed on it...I was amazed about how easy it was to change the atmosphere around me at one point I conjured a storm above my head, which started as a small dark cloud and started spiraling and grew into a full-fledged thunderstorm. I live in Phoenix AZ, so there are saguaro cacti all throughout the neighborhood. I kid you not everyone of them were giving me a big middle finger. I found it hilarious and could not stop laughing, all the while holding a random leaf which pointed and changed direction so my friends and I followed its direction. Another thing I noticed was the all of us had the ability to communicate telepathically with each other.

I took half an 1/8th of magic mushrooms and experienced no visuals but I'm particularly resistant to hallucinations. Anyways after taking them i found everything to be very funny. I spent about and hour just sorta tripping and then i got sick. Threw up once, then I got tired and went to sleep. Woke up the next morning feeling like a million bucks.

This was basically my one experience as well (I didn't get sick though). I felt happier for something like 2 days to a week or so after the experience too. I was amazed how it actually changed my mood like that.

One little minor thing - it's Psilocybe azurescens, not azurensis. -ensis means "originating in". -escens means "turning/becoming". So azurescens means "turning azure." (It really gets a lot darker than that, but it is what it is!)

One important thing to keep in mind about different species is that they’ll require wildly different growing environments and substrates. The vast majority of cultivated psychedelic mushrooms are cubensis because they grow faster and manure is an easier material to work with than wood. People can and do grow other species but if you encounter them, they’re more likely to be foraged in the wild.

It's been my experience that really no one knows or has even heard of WLP.
Out of the hundreds of people I have spoken to throughout my many, many years (I'm almost 50) of using mushrooms and being around the psychedelic community, no one ever mentioned it. I only became aware of WLP because it happened to me out of nowhere while trippin a few years back. The experience scared me so much that I didn't touch mushrooms for many years after the incident. I thought I was having a stroke and came so close to calling an ambulance, luckily my wife was able to calm me down.
After many years of trippin on as much as 8.5g of dried mushrooms, having done Ayahuasca many times in Peru and smoked 5meo DMT I thought I had a pretty good handle on trippin but when my vision slowly started to become blurry and then I pretty much couldn't see at all then my right arm started going numb, then my right leg became numb and I couldn't stand then this tingling feeling started crawling up the right side of my neck and face to the point where the whole right side of my face was dropping.... trust me when I tell you I started to panic. I think the whole experience lasted about an hour but because I was trippin so hard it felt like it lasted forever. If I had heard of WLP before hand I wouldn't of panicked and understood that this is something that sometimes happens. I try and tell everyone I know that uses mushrooms about WLP so that they don't freak out and can remain calm.
Anyway, it would be great to hear your take on it.

I ha e only tried srooms once as a 14 year old and they where the uk ones that grow wild in September/October I think they're called liberty caps. But I've had more experience with lsd. I'm an alcoholic in recovery and been sober for 7 years now and I'm getting on abit (43) and want to find myself as I feel a bit lost. There was a really interesting comment made by the breeder of Penis Envy on Hamilton's podcast recently where he said he prefers the azures due to there being a singular entity behind them that resonated with me as I had an experience where a friend offered me a mixed bag of Goldies and Azures and I ate them in my normal Goldie amount and got sent down a journey that made me take a whole new perspective on what was possible and that mixing cultivars or taking a new one in the same dose as the old, is going to lead to really unexpected results.
I don't read shroom forums because I don't want anyone else's interpretations to out-form my own, Hamilton's coverage of the PE breeder was so mind blowing - he said over and over he never got it from McKenna, never met the guy.
The lingering question remains, what's the co-pilot dose on the azures, by themselves....?

I've grown some insanely strong 'Golden Teachers'.. enough to blow my mind a few times over compared to any other 'standard' or 'street' cubensis, but the Azzies were simply insane.
It was really the first time I've ever encountered them on the east coast (since they are from the pacific northwest) but I've encountered a few that could grow them outdoors in this climate, and boy are they strong.
Taking a 5g "heroic dose" of these was akin to 12.5g or much more of a standard cube. It really is insane how potent they can be...

A lot of people don't realize that different strains/phenotypes of cubensis don't just have different potency and appearance but have a very different balance of alkaloids as well. I actually have a physically different reaction to a strain that was an offshoot of APE than most other cubensis I've tried, as when I start to comedown my bp and heartrate skyrocket (the most I took was an 8th, and it was so bad I genuinely believed I was going to die for at least 3-4 hrs), and that's happened all 3 times I've tried it. However, despite trying b+, gt, jmf and malabar coast I've never experienced anything close to that. That said, my experience is of course only anecdotal proof that different strains have a noticeable difference in experience beyond just potency and placebo, so if anyone else has similar or opposing experiences or evidence, I'd love to hear it. :)
I know what it feels like when thing go wrong. My advice is to find a god memory to hang onto it and cling to it as hard as you can until you ride it out. Set and setting do make all the difference. My last few times on shrooms were pure magic. In a natural setting with puffy clouds and mock orange bushes in flower made for an unforgettable experience,. My last experience was over 25 years ago, but I will never forget the joy and being connected to the universe. Sadly my mind is not strong enough to ever do it again, but I am sure glad it did it when I did!
I noticed a difference between multi spore fruits/ all over the place and third generation mono culture/ very organized you see the vibrations of the universe and all things make there own patterns.
I have a chocolate that has 4 different strains in it...everytime I eat it I puke my guts up even a microdose. When I've eaten cubensis from cow fields and golden teachers I never got sick. I think your right it's the many alkaloids throughout the mushroom and multiple mushrooms strains may have totally different chemical structures that your body will not agree with!
It is only within the last few months of starting to really research deeper into magic mushrooms for introspection/healing/spiritual purpose that I realized there were so many different strains. Kind of like you said initially just mushrooms were mushrooms. But I've learned now that golden teachers were the only ones I had ever encountered beforehand. Which I guess makes sense if they are easy to grow
I have dried some others now though that have brought me all kinds of different experiences, but I think I'll always have some goldens because it's reliably mellow.

Is it possible to add a first layer of perlite in the box, create a layer of coconut fiber, brown rice flour (colonized grain) shell top layer vermiculite? Psilocybe cyanescens seams stronger than Cubensis to me. And if you grow a strain and you pick 2 mushrooms that are the same size and weigh the same the potency can be very different in each individual shroom.
They are the same thing.
@@stevemackenzie8250 cyanescens have about twice the amount of psilocybin and psilocin per dry gram than semilanceata, semilanceata have about 30% more than cubensis. There's also a difference in how potent they are after time, psilocybin content is high in semilanceata, near the 90%, so its potency doesn't degrade rapidly, cubensis has a higher amount of psilocin in it which isnt stable upon contact with oxygen so cubensis can lose upto 40% of its potency over a short period of time.

Dosage: I have found the best way to determine dosage is an intuitive method, either muscle testing (kinesiology) or pendulum. There are UTube videos on each method. Of course use this method in conjunction with others, it isn't gospel. But it does alert you to someone might be especially sensitive. When I started doing groups I went by body weight which was a heavy overdose to a few people. They were completely wiped out, felt out of control and never tripped again. So they lost a potentially powerful path of personal growth. An intuitive method takes into account all aspects of the trip; the tripper's intension, his tolerance, potency, everything. Sitting for a tripper became boring. I have had great success with using intuitive methods but have never heard of anyone else using what seems to me to be an obvious way. I would love to hear from anyone who tries this method. I'd like to see it receive universal use.
I will definitely try that method when I get a chance.

Just had 2 grams of GT in a raw cacao brew a few weeks ago. Really nice. Reflective, but also conversational. 6:30 a clone of the mycelium will always be true to the initial mushroom. Spores grow mycelium but cannot produce mushrooms until they meet up with another compatible spore with mycelium. They are haploid. The two touch and produce a diploid mycelium capable of producing a mushroom. Shaking the mycelium of a clone just produces more mycelium of the clone and not a brand new variety. If you are using spores the mushrooms you produce will be new individuals with a new genetic makeup.

I purchased a spore print from High Times magazine in 1979 and cultured magic mushrooms back in the day. I touched the face of God and got slightly burned, my fault, not his. In 2006 I ran across P. cubensis growing in a pasture in Montserrat, WI and it turned deep blue upon bruising. But I knew my mind was not strong enough to touch God again, so I put it down. 16 years later I am mixed with relief and regret. Be careful what you wish for, for you shall have it. From my reading, the experience can be vivid without the mind bending forces of the mushrooms. I plan to wait for a perfect, beautiful day when I can spend hours (hopefully) watching the shapes and colors. correct she had it backwards you can hybridize species but not different genus’s. so 2 psilocybes can hybridize but a psilocybe and a panaeolus cannot to my knowledge

@@AJScraps just found out how they make hybrids. they isolate the monokaryotic mycelium (ik i spelled that atrociously dont hate) of each strain on petri dishes then allow them to colonize together either by transferring both to a single dish or putting to liquid culture. when both isolated monokaryotic myceliums meet they form dikaryotic mycelium which produces the fruits. and if the 2 separate strands of monokaryotic are different it results in a hybrid.
For years, ive had this idea to breed better tasting psilocybin shrooms. But i don't know anything about doing that, and since with my luck, I'd unlock the Instant Kill Poison ability, I'll just leave it alone.
I just walked into a store in Washington DC and purchased a half ounce of albino penis envy mushrooms dried. I couldn’t believe it it didn’t seem real they had a variety of 15 different strains of mushrooms however all of them were different CUBENSiS strains. I haven’t had an intense trip in probably 15 years. Back in my younger years I did mushrooms probably close to 100 times every single time I always eat 3.5 g this way it was also much easier to differentiate the potency of different batches because I always stuck to the same those. Out of the close to 100 times most of them are always similar in potency. However one time stood out from all of the rest and ate the same amount as always 3.5 g. Visually the only difference I noticed immediately from all the other times I had mushrooms was the entire eighth was just one mushroom one giant mushroom. Every other time I had an eighth it was comprised of several mushrooms. So that alone made it stand out from the beginning that the whole eight was one big mushroom. It looked like your textbook CUBENSiS white a super golden cap. I had a full out of body experience that night a true spiritual experience I was never the same since that night that batch was light years ahead and potency compared to all the other batches I ever had. As I sent that I have not had a proper trip in well over 10 years. One reason being I couldn’t find things I’m bad with computers and refused to go on the dark web. Also because I have a past of drug addiction to hard drugs the past couple years since I’ve turned my life around I’ve become kind of a permit and I don’t associate with people that look like drug users which is why I used to have a easy time finding things in the past but I stay away from all that because I don’t wanna come across the wrong drugs I’m done with all that I just avoid it completely. So since they were decriminalized in DC and now there’s two different dispensaries selling them I was able to finally make my move. I was able to get some mushrooms a few months ago it was less than 3 g and they were not potent at all I think they were very old and poorly stored. This time I got albino penis envy for the first time and I think it’s a potent batch because there is some extremely intense bluing and a few of them look almost black. Supposedly that means they’re more potent but I also wonder if that could just mean that they were handled more roughly and maybe that’s the only reason that they have so much more bluing. Even though this is gonna be my first time having a serious trip in over 10 years I’m going straight to the heroic those for the first time in my life I weighed out 5.5 g of the dry albino penis envy I’m going to take that dose tomorrow night I ground them up and put it in capsules to make it easier to eat. So 5.5 g of dried mushrooms especially albino penis envy that looks so potent I’m almost guaranteed I’m going to have the most intense trip of my life tomorrow night, I truly need it though I have PTSD from things that happened since my psychedelic use in my youth I completely different person my soul needs to be cleansed by the mushrooms my spiritual batteries need to be recharged badly.
