Whats probably the biggest reason for nobody ever (or years later) picking up the cremated remains? Is it that the deceased has nobody or because of non-payment? That being said...is payment due up front for cremation or just a deposit?
Do some states restrict transport of non embalmed bodies across state lines? One funeral director said no, the other said yes, and I asked about Jewish bodies in those cases. One director said, if it is required to embalm a body for transfer across a state line, the blood drained from Jewish bodies is retained and has to be buried in the casket. Can you give an answer or does it vary from state to state? Have you had to deal with this?
On the gravedigging topic and the space issue: I remember visiting my mom's grave (d.2002) and while walking through the graves with my 3 year old in a stroller we noticed all these gophers up on the top of the grass, blinking dazedly in the sun and wondered what the hell was going on. Turned out they were going to apparently inter a whole row of people who had been waiting, so to speak, to all be done at the same time (I don't know why, maybe it's cheaper). The gophers were apparently disoriented by all the ground moving equipment. Anyway there was basically a large ditch and I could see the vaults of the people of the row behind. I could see the foot of about 10-15 older graves and the feet of the various caskets. It was very creepy. My mom was buried in a very old grave my grandmother bought when her first husband died in the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic. Very interesting story. My mom insisted we do a graveside service and no way did she want to hang around and be buried at the cemetery's convenience. I tried to talk her out of embalming but she really didn't care about that.

I love Country music and feel sad when I think of all the American Country singers who have passed away. I love Glen Campbell's songs and a while ago watched a video where they showed his grave site and tomb stone. I have never been to the US. I once met an American couple who were visiting my country and while speaking to them they told me that although the graves and tomb stones are visible to the public, almost all these famous people are not actually buried in those places, but in secret locations where only the close family members know. They keep it as a secret to prevent the bodies been dug up by grave diggers so that they can get parts of the clothing, casket or even body parts and sell them as souvenirs. Could that be true?

In PR i know a funeral home is not wanting to embalm any covid death , they pick them up, put in casket wrapped up as they come from hospital and put in casket and it must remain shut. Most of time they are naked. People do not know they can go with other choices. Terrible i find it disrespectful and it's a real known funeral home.

I find that it's much better to bury a person, naked. Why, you ask? Well, their isn't a valid reason, as to why the dead, would need clothes. We say that the soul goes to Heaven. Not with the body. But, that does bring up another question. When the soul arrives at Heaven, is it naked or fully dressed?

Yes
So if a person is unclaimed and the state cremates them what do they do with the ashes is no one comes and gets them
Thai Mays watch a certain kind of death. Their ashes are scattered in a common grave
A mass burial sometimes
There is a mosaleum being built I Oklahoma
Nice!
The shrine in Okc. Is fir St Stanley Rother. You mentioned you would like to go in one during the building process.
The Drury’s owned a hotel chain. Drury Inn.
Yes I don't think it them though
@@KaritheMortician who knows

@@conorwinston6205 that makes sense
NMU in Marquette has a secret area to study decomposition of body parts on the open ground would you consider visiting there?
I would love to! I saw that they just started this.
Oh I thought cold storage was the only way to keep them longer like that.
What is the cost "flameless or water cremation"?
It is the same price
@@KaritheMortician Thank you & now if it will just be available in my area when that time comes.
Kari ha e you done a video on the monks? I would like to see that!
Not yet!
@@KaritheMortician check out Conception Abbey here in Missouri on their practices when a monk passes and is buried on site vs the Benedictine Convent in Atchinson, Kansas and how nuns who've passed are buried on site there.
If being buried in a mausoleum is embalming required?
At many yes
@@KaritheMortician Thanks so much, Kari. I am 77 and always feared death but your videos have made me a little less Fearful. I will not be waked just a 5 minute for 2 close extended families to see me. I have no family anymore. I am not crazy about being embalmed so I need to call The All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines, Ill to see if I need to be Embalmed. Great videos.
Hi Kari I haven’t seen you in a while . With all this Covid going on . Miss you . Interesting topics today . Love you 😍

Welcome back!
There was a guy who told his daughter who wanted to get a tattoo, that he would give her $1,000 to spend on one special outfit, the catch was that she would have to wear that same outfit every day all day for 2 months. When she protested he said, "you want a tattoo and you'll be wearing that for the rest of your life". Something to think about. Tattoos aren't worth it.
very interesting
What do you do with their clothes before cremation ?
They are cremated in them if provided
Hi from Liverpool UK
What tattoo are you going to get?
I will post about it after!
PA has some caged graves, also graves w a a bell or 2
Have yiu ever watched the casketers on netflix
In PR i know a funeral home is not wanting to embalm any covid death , they pick them up, put in casket wrapped up as they come from hospital and put in casket and it must remain shut. Most of time they are naked. People do not know they can go with other choices. Terrible i find it disrespectful and it's a real known funeral home.
Thank you for sharing!
Hey Kari! (I’m bloated, actually, and we don’t know why!) I’m having to see a different dr.. right now, and she’s running all these tests, and holy cow! They called and said, if you start having more abdominal pain, dizziness, Go to the ER! (Way to scare me!) TMI, I know, sorry! But they sounded really concerned.
Oh goodness!!
If a family member wants to have a tattoo removed from the the person..skin with the tattoo, can it be preserved like a memory for them
I caught you live but only for a second because I had to go to the doctor and was not able to specify my question :(. I meant how would a family member be able to help with a funeral. What are the limits if it comes to carrying for your loving one.
Is there a specific point during the process you are referring to? The family is caring for them the whole time. I just want to make sure I understand your question. Email it over to me and I will talk in depth about it. kari@karinorthey.com
Dang.. sorry we missed you live 😿
Next time!
Good evening
Same to you
When a person is dying and gets that "death rattle"..isn't that actually mucus in their throat that they can clear like we normally do ?.I use to be a NA and took care of my mother in law..it got really loud, even fr3aking the Hospice nurse out.
Yes it is a build up of fluids and sounds horrible to everyone listening
It's been 8 months
Did u ever get that tattoo?

Have done any Amish funerals?
No we don't have a community right near me
I've been to a Amish/ Old Order Mennonite funeral. I grew up in Southeastern Lancaster Co., in Pa. I know about customs and what they do.
Tattoo Fear is a liar
I went down to a funeral home basement and there was a room with like beautiful lockers in a that was for the unclaimed remains it was so beautifully done I wish all funeral homes would take the time to dedicate a room to the unclaimed remains
Thanks
What is it like working at a funeral home

What is the purge you talk about?
It is fluids that are forced out by pressure through the mouth or nose
when a person is geeting cremated do they need a coffin ?
They need a minimum cremation container
I find that it's much better to bury a person, naked. Why, you ask?
Well, their isn't a valid reason, as to why the dead, would need clothes. We say that the soul goes to Heaven. Not with the body. But, that does bring up another question. When the soul arrives at Heaven, is it naked or fully dressed?
Great question
not everybody goes to Heaven!!!! the word of God declares that theres a Heaven to gain, and a Hell to shun!!! some pastors preach all people into Heaven, while in reality,a lot of those folks went just the opposite, because they didnt live for God!!!!!
@@MultiDjc123 I hear what you said, but everything about Heaven and Hell, is hearsay. Yes, it was said to those thousands of years ago. Or was it? Think about life on earth. Sometimes it feels like Heaven, and other times it feels like Hell. Plus, in truth, no one has died, and ca.e back and described Heaven and Hell. And I'm not talking about those people who "died" and woke up.
No one really knows for sure.
@@walterfink9782 there are people who have been allowed to see into Heaven, and into Hell, believe me its real, there is A God,there is a devil, there is a Hell!!! i can tell you from experience ,that Christians have spiritual visions, and God reveals things to us, that the world doesnt understand, and i myself have had people say that they seen angels around me at different times in my life.i have friends who have seen multitudes of angels at various times, heard angels singing during worship times at churchs. i,myself am a piano player for churchs, and have experienced angel activity standing behind me while playing up front of the congregation, tha angel was seen by one of the church ladies who told me after services were over,so i know that these are angelic beings . i have lived for God many years now, actually since i was 8 years old ! i am 75 now, still living for God!!! i have had many healings, dreams, and spiritual experiences over the years that many wouldnt believe, yet they remain true and real! please give God a chance ,prove Him out,see that He is as real as you and I,He values you,He is more than worthy of your belief thank you sir With all respect towards you,no offence intended,God really Loves you, thats why people like me are sent your way to help you to see how Great God is
@@MultiDjc123 I understand what you say, but I stand with what I say. I believe in God. But the more I think, and watch and read wh as t goes on here on Earth, I'm starting to have real doubts. Its okay that you believe what you have said and heard.
