This worked!!! I was so frustrated not being able to see my cursor on my document and I have no idea when it changed. FYI I did have to close and re-open word after following the directions before I was able to see the cursor.

Thank you. I had an inconsistent problem that only recently appeared. The text cursor would turn white when in certain tabs within Chrome and Firefox, such as Google Voice, but not for every website, such as Amazon. It seemed to be random. The "I" bar was already selected but after following the directions to redo it, it shows a correct black text cursor within all the tabs thus far. I am not certain if it will last, and it may be related to a recent update bug. I will update if it reverts.

Great Instructions. Only one thing to add (and maybe I missed it), but if you have Word open while doing this, you may have to close it and reopen before the changes will take effect. That's what I had to do.

Every time I would type into a text box the cursor would turn white or invisible making it super hard to type anything or edit the text. Thanks again.

This is happened after GPU driver update... Follow my steps to fix this guys... And thank me later I have got a new, simple and complete solution from a sensor tech supporter of Lenovo. It works perfectly for me. The followings are the details. 1. Open Notebook， and fill it in with the following Code, as shown in Figure： Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm] "OverlayTestMode"=dword:00000005 2. Save the file with the format”.reg“, the name is arbitrary, for example as FixCursorBug. 3. Double-click the FixCursorBug.reg, and continue till new Infos are merged into the registry. 4. Restart the OS. 5. Test and enjoy it.

This is about cursor in general, NOT for Word. But overall, good, fast info.
After this fix also my issue is not yet resolved the text pointer is changing but the color is transparent and white
