Got to see DLR the year (9 months before EVH passed, no one knew it was coming) Feb 2020, the very last show I saw before the pandemic shut it all down. He opened for kiss but I went for Dave and he fuckin ripped but I had never got to see Van Halen in person proper with Eddie and Alex, so I know I never got to experience it but I did get to see Dave totally blow the top off of St Paul and I’m so glad I got to see that music preformed live when everyone was still alive even tho it obv wasn’t ed on guitar or Al on drums or Mikey or Wolfie on bass but I won’t beat myself for missing these shows when I could have gone. I could totally slash myself for it. But it was not on my map, I was recovering from serious IV heroin addiction and this music helped me get through it, helped teach me guitar by ear and tab and along with a Beatles chord book I became a really proficient and fun loving player from the heart of music from the soul just like Eddie embodied and the rest of the band. For all you that got to see Eddie know you were forever touched in person by a Saint of music. For those that are still alive and feeding off the energy and power of that music but that we were lucky enough to be alive when such legends roamed this planet. Rock on and long love Van Halen’s music and legacy!
