I have had my C for going on 4 years now ... love it more every day! I teach at a school that has the B model, and though the B was a great lathe, Powermatic made so many improvements in the C that I have trouble going back and forth!
Thanks for sharing, Gerald! I have not had a chance to completely put it thru its paces and still getting use to minor things like controls. But some of the changes I see I really like. Just happy I was ready to buy when the Centenial model was 10% off for a brief period. I sold my b model for $3400 and a couple of days turning lessons. So I only had to shell out a bit more than $1400 difference. Very happy with my decision.
hello friends greetings healthy and successful always. thank you for sharing knowledge and always faithfully watching your latest stuff I like your ideas finising bowl
Congratulations on the new lathe, while I don't have the anniversary version I do have a C and really enjoy it. In fact, I brought it partially based on your review of the B.
I love highly finished Bradford Pear. It makes beautiful pieces of art. Love the Bradford Peace 2022 bowl. 😉 Just a suggestion, for video quality, maybe turn off the auto-focus on the close-up shooting? Set your focal length and go with it. That auto setting keeps adjusting and throws the video out of focus. I think the camera is either having issues with the spinning subject or the shavings are triggering the focal length. Of course it is up to you, but as I said, just a suggestion. You'll get used to the extra camera step of adjusting the focus manually in no time. Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing.
Good idea. I will investigate the manual focus. I normally do not have much of an auto focus problem with my Canon Camcorder but I think it was because I was zoomed in so close.
Mike, at the 6:19 point on while trying to finish the inside bottom of the bowl, you could have really used one of Robust’s “J” rest to help from the problems caused by having to extend so far over the rest. Just saying. Cherry, Tom
@@MikePeaceWoodturning Hi Mike, yes I do and I haven’t noticed a significant amount of flex. It has help me take those last few bottom cut without making some of the mistakes I seemed to be making when extended too far off the rest, also a lot less tool vibration. Cheers, Tom
Great video Mike. I currently have a problem with a piece I am turning. I chucked the piece between live centres and have the point in the base. It will be cut off so that I can get down to the tendon that I have created. How do I reestablish the point before reversing it into my chuck?
Make a center finder - a short dowel with a hole that an awl or nail can penetrate. The dowel is sized to fit thru the back of the chuck after it is mounted to the tenon. Here is a video on this ruclips.net/video/BTn53FbIuII/видео.html
Mike starting at the 11:18 the auto focus glitch ruined an otherwise good videos. Har to get the good info and tips with the distraction of the in focus - out of focus going on. Still some good tips. Hope you can correct that before it ruins another video. Cheers, Tom
@@MikePeaceWoodturning I appreciate all you do to share, just wanted to bring this up so that you might be able to correct it on future videos. I don’t want to miss any of your techniques that might help my turning. BTW, did using the sanding paste before using the scraper in the shear mode eliminate the tear out on the bottom? If so, I might have to try that the next time. Thanks again. Cheers, Tom

Lovely bit of Bradford Peace Mike!🤪👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
Yes it was.
Gorgeous turning, Mike. Just goes to show you don't need a chainsaw and a tree trunk to produce a beautiful bowl!
I did not but the guy who sent me the blank did!
Your videos are always helpful. Giving this one three thumbs up!
Glad you like them!
What a beautiful bowl Mike! I really like the beads. Thanks for another great video. I always learn so much.
Thank you very much!
Initially I thought you had a new Laguna, then the camera backed out. Good looking lathe Mike.
Love the bowl too. Simple elegance,
Thanks 👍 Going from a PM to a Laguna would be stepping back not forward IMHO. I will be doing a video review sometime in the near future. Take care.
Nice bowl! Nice lathe! Nice video!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice colored wood.
Thank you! Cheers!
Love it
Bradford pear is really nice looking. Looking forward to a review of the new lathe.
BP is one of my favorites.
Love Bradford pear, it makes beautiful bowls. Thanks for sharing.
Yes it does. One of my favorite woods.

Thanks for the info! Powermatic makes a great heavy duty lathe for sure.
Nice up grade to your lathe Mike.
It sure is
Is that a new Powermatic Anniversary lathe? It would be interesting to see you do a video on how it compares to the other lathes you have used.
Yes, it is. I do have an unboxing/moving video and a review video coming up on that.
I love highly finished Bradford Pear. It makes beautiful pieces of art.
Love the Bradford Peace 2022 bowl. 😉

So do you use one? Has it improved your cut near the bottom? I have a curved Oneway rest and it it flexes too much to be much use.

Thanks Mike. That will work perfectly.

I sometimes pass by where I need to turn when driving distracted!

I can see how that could be distracting to some viewers. Thanks for sharing. Too many folks do not take the time to share.
