Love your dresses. Sewist tip... To measure length from waist to knee or floor without bending... Let the heavy zero end fall to desired place and pinch tape at waist. Then hold out to read it. ♥️
You are very talented, with a good eye for colour and pattern combining. I never cared for patchwork fashion in the past, but you have really changed my mind and I’ve become such a fan of your style. Always enjoy your videos. 💕from🇨🇦
Wow I have just found you and I am in awe of your talent. To undo overlocking stitches gently trim the threads where they overlock at the edge of the fabric and it will just pull apart. I worked in a factory back in the 1980s and this is how they do it in industry ❤
Use a seam ripper to cut a stitch of the line of needle thread, about every 3-4 inches. Use the back of the ripper bladeto lift/raise the middle stitch of each section of needle thread. Grab the raised stitch with tweezers and gently pull thread section out. The looper threads will fall away intact, because needle the thread holds the whole thing together !
Have a look at Catherine Sews video on unpicking. She shows you how to undo serging/overlocking thread. Basically you find the 2 needle stitches that run along the bottom, and cut them with your unpicker, then pull them out so you have a tail that you can pull, rip them out kind of like gathering until they completely come out and then the top loops just unravel really fast. It is a game changer, takes seconds once you know what to do. Same with chain stitches. I find her videos so informative. This is the first of yours I have watched and you have a new subscriber! Love your style, your pieces are DIVINE 😍
I just purchased the large short sleeve clownish top, I am a gardener so the holly hobby type gardner girl really won me over! Many thanks for sharing your creativity and skill.
Just found you. Fascinating watching you create such colourful clothes out of different fabrics. Very inspiring. I don’t have a sewing room/nook. If I did I think it would look just like yours, full and busy. Thanks for your vlogs.
Hi Scarlet for measuring length from waist to floor, try putting your 1st inch to the floor, stand straight and just look at measurement at waist saves bending down. Hope this helps xx
So the dress that you had to Ulta looks reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter or something tea party with the cat on the front and I absolutely love it and it's stunning ❤
I sooooo enjoy your eclectic use of fabric, it’s just so nice to see you explain what your business entails apart from amazing creativity ❤❤❤ the way you plan your day and any new fabrics and tea towels bought for dresses 👗 👗👗👗
I love everything you are about ❤ I just purchased a collar! I want to purchase a cross body bag for sure next time. Do you know when you will stock new crossbody bags?
I loveeeeeeeee your videos!!!! I just discovered your channel and am working towards making my own upcycling business so it's so cool to see other creators thriving in the same field 🫶🫶 also your kitten is too adorable 🥹
Your trousers are gorgeous. You should definitely wear them outside. Always a joy to watch your videos. If you would ask, I personally don ´t need any music to fill in😀
Dear Scarlett, thanks for letting me take a look over your shoulder. Really enjoyed watching the video. I absolutely loved your shirt. The colors and the cute ruffled sleeves suit you perfectly. There are actually some videos showing a fast removal of an overlock seam. If I find something suitable, I'll share it with you. The kitten is so cute - love the little curious und insecure cats and seeing them grow. Regards from Germany Stephanie
I just, yesterday, watched a surger seam removal video ! Use seam ripper to cut the straight needle stitches, one per about every 3 in. of distance. Then use the backside of the ripper blade to lift/raise the "middle of the section" stitch above the material. Use a tweezer to grab the raised stitch and gently pull thread out. When all needle threads are removed the looper threads fall away.
Love💜 your pants and they look great on you🤗. I had a pair of black cotton pants with lace over the top and i sewed all little charms around the ankles, that was before i jaf my son and hes nearly 30 now 😶
Cute top! I of course love everything you make so this was a fun video. I vow to get my t towel dress at least cut out this week, but I did finally tackle printing taping and cutting the pattern. Now for sorting through fabrics.
Hello oh my goodness I totally loved your pants would definitely make me some of those they are so totally amazing you are amazing love your enthusiasm you are just full of life !!!❤❤❤God Bless!!!
Bonnie is the star of the show you do know that don't you :D hahahah . I,m new here, love the projects and i think your hair would look amazing in eggplant color.
Love your videos and love Abakahns I always get some lovey fabric to go in my stash. Your pants looked great I'd love to be able just to draft a pattern and sew it in an afternoon. Are you watching The Sewing Bee ? You remind me of the sewers making something in a couple of hours.....I would be too flustered! 🧵🪡
They had 20% off today only!! Thank you, I do wing a lot of my own creations, I never seem to have the patience for myself 😂 I LOVE the sewing bee, i’d love to be on it!
Love the fabric in-your pants , just not the style. They look like clown pants, you were very productive. It is great when you have one of those days. It always makes me feel great. The best to you.😊 ❤
Ever since moving to Liverpool, I’ve found it hard to find a good bootsale!🙈 I used to go every weekend down south, now my family sources bootsale stuff for me and bring it to me 😂
I'm fascinated by your cutting technique, how efficient and quick... can you tell me which electric rotary cutter you use? and where can I buy it? Kind regards from Germany, Marita
Aww noo! I tried really hard this time to keep the music to the lowest volume and voice higher!😅 i’ll maybe look to find softer music or leave it for the future!!
Yes, I think for me it’s the style and repetition of the music, with no break from it throughout the video. Some silence or more mellow music would really break it up and add variety.
@@afrayed_upcyclingHiya, just my thoughts on the matter, I think you don't need any music on when you're talking, it distracts from the talking, plus we love hearing what you have to say so we're happy to just listen to you talk. You could do what I've seen a lot of artists/small business do, no music when you're talking, and music when you're doing something (sewing, cutting, B roll, so on)
When using a serger the way you do (since you straight stitch and then serge for your patchwork) does it matter what color the thread it or can you just always go between white and black
Oh just read your pinned post re music. I’m a new subbie as your vlog popped up on my YT feed. Loved it but oh boy that repetitive music. I had to give myself a brain break! So glad you’re taking it off…. Not good. Love you makes though. Girl after my own heart as I rescue fabric from going to landfill, preloved and charity shops. Me I’m down in the SE of England. Looking forward to your next. 🎉
Hello again. Very nice video to watch..I am impressed by all the work you do. One small thing...sheeesh...the music is intrusive. If I turn it off, I can't hear you of c ourse..if I listen to you, the music just grates my nerves. sigh. maybe I am not alone in this one small thing?....
Hey guys! Really sorry about the music, for future videos I’ll take it off! Hope you enjoy the video as best as you can 🌸✨🌿

Thank you!🥹💜
The dresses are "sew" cute. Pun intended. I love your kitty. She is sweet.❤

I love the pattern and pants. I’d love them in a nice light fabric with a crazy daisy design. You are so calming and talented. ❤
Thank you! I’ve gone for plain fabrics for my next pair!
Add some sweet Lace onto the Hem of those pants or around the pockets. Even Ric-Rac trim makes a sweet detail 💕 Happy Stitching

As an American, I don't have any idea of the differences between accents, it's all British to me and I love to listen! lol.
You would 100% be able to tell the difference between a cockney and scouse accent!😂
You always make me smile.
Awwww thank youuuu!!🥹
Fantastic trousers! Nothing wrong with winging it.
I think so too! Most things I make for myself are completely winged 😂
Scarlett, to ease ripping stitches; cut every 3rd or 4th stitch and then pull. Cuts your time in half. Not fabrics handle the pulling
Thank you!!🙌🙌
