Thanks for another great tutorial. One thing you haven't tackled (as far as I know... and I've watched a lot of your videos!) is taking a console from stock/unmodified to jailbroken for those who want to retain and migrate their "legit" game saves. I assume when jailbreaking you want to create a new user account, so it's a bit confusing whether you can migrate saves from a stock console over to a jailbroken one with a different user account. I've game save progress on games on my PS3 for example I wouldn't want to lose if jailbreaking the console.
It sounds like you're wanting two videos combined? I've got several on modifying the console, and this one covers save management, so I'm not sure what's missing.

Possibly didn’t word it well enough; it sounds like the correct process when jailbreaking a console is to backup game saves via official means and then look at migrating those saves to a jailbroken console with different user via unofficial apps.
Either way works, this one is easier though. Unfortunately there's many saves that are profile locked, console locked, or even copy protected totally, so copying some saves is only possible on a modified console.

I seem to never have luck using this tool, specifically trying to import PS2 saves (pay, cbs, etc). The readme indicates it can import and convert PS2 to PSV, but it never finds anything on my USB

I went into Apollo, copied my OG save data from HDD to my USB stick, from my PC deleted the original files under that save name folder and pasted in the save files I found online in that area. Copied from USB to HDD within Apollo and then resigned from the HDD saves. Exited Apollo and I could then see the save appear within save data utility within XMB and it had the correct name and everything, went into the game and it couldn't find any save data and when I came out of the game, I could see in save data utility that save data name had changed to the following: _BRK_2024120118172800972073' with a lightning bolt symbol where the game level icon appeared against it previously. I'm guessing that means the save is corrupt but I don't understand why
17:54 is there any way to make it...not do that to save names and information? that's just awful. i'm sure plenty of people wouldn't care but that's the kind of weird minor shit that would drive me nuts.
What about if your successfully moved and resign the save data but the game tells you that you cant use the data because its not your user data? Dragons dogma dark arisen 😢 Help?!?
just change the debug settings to fake user save data look up the tutorial this guy made for converting your system to dex for this extra setting, trust me it helps ALOT
Please advise! I'm already confused, I copied my game saves from my hard drive to a USB flash drive using Appolo! And when I completely formatted the hard drive because the console froze and then reinstalled the operating system on the PlayStation on the same HDD drive! Then when I tried to restore my game saves from a USB drive using appolo, this application refused to see my saves on the flash drive, I activated the system using appolo!
Hey I was thinking about installing HEN just to unlock save files so I can backup them on my PC. I don't need anything else as I have a spare CFW PS3 for that. What I'm wondering is : how to minimize the ban chances playing on this console then ? Does SOny see it if you go online/unlock trophies ? (without cheating or anything I mean, legit). Can you easily switch the whole thing on/off so not to be bothered ?

does the Bulk save management work at all ? i tried that with the PS4 version i want to move a lot of save files and i cannot do them 1 by 1

You might not have them in the right format or structure on your USB drive.

Not for me to judge risks, I just tell people there's always a ban risk.
