Over the years you have taught me everything I know about PS3HEN and I thank you. I just followed this video and managed to get GTA installed with ease. pop-fe is an incredible program! I love the way it gets images and sound, so cool!
Thank you so much for the pop-fe recommendation. This tool works great and I love that it fetches the art work. I used to make PSP PBP all the time back in the day and they work great for emulators. Having my game collection converted to a single file is perfect for me. BTW Linux users, pop-fe works with Wine.
I was trying to figure out how to do exactly this just a few weeks ago and couldn't figure it out. Thank you for this video and for the future project once I get home from vacation.
Have fun! It's something a friend and I talked about a few years ago, seemed to have been almost a lost art for a while, but this program makes it pretty simple.
People might bash on HEN due to stability or compatibility issues, but it remains to me one of the most impressive mods for the PS3, just because we didn't have anything for all models for so long.
@Madstylezify One problem. PS3 optical drives are "married" to the motherboard. Meaning, each individual Blu-ray drive is specifically tagged to that one particular console. You cannot simply swap out those parts as you would a PS2 or a PS1. This is why I thank God we can jailbreak systems and directly access the hard drive via FTP. Otherwise... Many more still functioning PlayStation 3 systems would have ended up as in landfills as E-waste. That was another big reason why I jumped to PC gaming ten years ago. At least I can replace and upgrade computer parts with relative ease This is why we as a whole must fight for the right to repair the things we own. Especially electronics and appliances.
Literally been doing this. Great tutorial 👌 i wanted to try make the SND0 audio files for the games that didn't have them but got confused how to make them
Honestly this is really good been using it for a few days now and its helped tidy up my ps1 games Quick question tho is there a similar program for PS2 games out there like the pop fe in the video? Would love to be able to "freshen" up my games with covers if at all possible
@@kenpachizaraki317 Ok. Well maybe it is time to create an UI for it and get github to build for windows. I will see if I have time the coming weekend to do it.
@@MrMario2011 Cool, I don't mind. I was just curious. I'll just use this to make an eboot, then play on Vita via Adrenaline. I'm not worried about having the vita launch bubble or anything, but I would've installed as vpk if that had been available since I don't have many psx/psp games on my Vita.
If you changed the name of the bin and cue files at some point it's not going to work. Make sure both have the default name from whatever source you got it from.
@MASJYT yep I did that, found out my game wasn't a ps1 game but a ps2 game that was a bin ane cue file. Tried using ps2classicgui however the program just freezed and was frozen on me, idk what I did wrong????

Nice work!
I've found your videos incredibly helpful for using PS3HEN, homebrew, etc. and this video is no exception. Thanks so much.
Based, I hope your account lasts a long while!

Thanks for WINEing about it! I'm sure that'll help some Linux users out there.
pop-fe runs natively on linux, no wine needed.

I wasn't even aware of this project. When I get some time over the Christmas break, I'll give it a try.
Have fun!
Mm you're amazing! This is so useful. Thanks for igniting / fueling my retro gaming passion for years now.
Glad to hear it!
I'm so grateful for HEN and full CFW.
Without it, my PS3 Slim with a dead Blu-Ray drive would be all but useless.
Lasers aren’t that expensive. You will have to do the work yourself to save money

Here's to hoping the auto-download functionality gets resolved!

There is! More for PS3HEN users but I have a video covering PS2 PKGs for PS3HEN
Yes. pop-fe2 does PS2 games. Though it is linux-only and a work in progress. There is no ui so you run it from the command line.
@@foobar2027 yeah I've been checking it out but sadly can't use it since I'm Windows but I hoped for something similar but thank you anyways

That works fine on CFW Evilnat 4.91, without license issues
hello thanks for the video , i try to make pkg for castevania sotn but at the end ehe pkg file size is 0MB
This guide is great, is there something like this for PS2 games?
Yeah
I'm fully willingly to accept blame if I'm doing it wrong, but all the games I converted run slow. The THPS Games run significantly slow
Linux users can use Brasero to make the image files from the CD's.
That’s a good idea for Linux users!
Could this be used somehow to make vpk for Vita/Vita TV instead of pkg?
Nope, but it sounds like my video on Adrenaline Bubble Manager will get you where you need to go.

This is a better method tbh, for multi disk games like Metal Gear Solid. If it's through Webman, it doesn't give you option to switch discs.
Hiya I have pop fe error!!! It says file not found when I use program for game!!!!
It says bin file is not found in terminal cmdprompt, I saw I had to put bin file into pop fe folder????

Why not use the bin file ?
The .cue file has the mapping/instructions
@@MrMario2011 oh okay I've always wanted to know the difference between the two. I appreciate it 🙏
