    I love these commercial spear fishing videos, I like how you narrate your dives. It’s so hard to watch the old ones with music for me. I am a long term science teacher; and have my degree in environmental science. You are absolutely right about how your version of commercial fishing is the most sustainable. Keep up the good work.

    All sportsman have days like this. They are rare, but when they happen it’s a life time memory. My dad and i went rabbit hunting one time. No dogs just walking them up. Little rocky triangle field . Bordered by two creek and the road . Each of us limited out . Good company and good fishing , doesn’t get any better than that.

    I know you concentrate mostly on spearfishing but if you needed to catch a few more couldn’t you just troll for them with some fresh bait rigs ballyhoo & sea star or switch lures & catch 6 or 8 more ?
    Is there a limit for how many wahoo you can take in a day per boat ?
    Or do you prefer to stick strictly to the spearfishing ?

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  22 дня назад +1

      we catch them rod and reel sometimes, they are more difficult to catch than spear in my opinion. as far as getting bites or seeing them. Once they are biting it's easy to catch them. they are picky fish, somedays they are everywhere and the spearing boats are the only ones landing them.

      If you can get some bonito’s or the small Tuny Tuna’s & make some thin strip baits & rig them with the sea witch baits or islander sea star baits tie the strips on then cover them with the skirts & troll at 7 to 8/knots you’ll get a few more wahoo when they are hard to catch on the troll

    Aloha. One of those days! Congratulations. Maybe you can help me out. Been watching you for years, still can’t figure out how that head is actually attached to the shaft? I keep watching and it seems like, tip on shaft with tag line, wrap tag line a couple times through your line, and shoot. What am I missing?

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  24 дня назад

      its just attached with the spectra line, there is a knot in the line that slides trough a "slide ring" on the shaft. the slide ring has two holes, the hole that fits around the shaft, slides freely up and down the shaft until it hits the slip tip adapter which is threaded onto the shaft. and the hole that the spectra slides through and is attached to the actual tip. give it a google lol very hard to explain typing.
