    I went to college 85-90. Much of my time, reading every Beatle book i could find!☮️ Oh, didnt know you did a Beatles book. Ringo's drumming, criminally underappreciated.

    Interesting video concentrating on the Beatles books! My first proper single I bought myself was Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields! The Beatles were important! They were first to do virtually everything and influenced lots of people to the present day!! Great video Mazzy

    I figure it is about time for Mark Lewisohn to come out with volume two of his trilogy which started with Tune In. It was released 10 years ago now. Its title is Turn On.

    I do have The Beatle's England. My daughter sent a picture of her at the Abbey Road crosswalk, and she had lunch at Sticky Fingers. These places are probably the only reason it'd want to travel to London. I hear the traffic does not stop for Paul. He has to wait just like the rest of us.

    I guess that I have got a Beatles book that even you haven't. In 2010 Thomas Kraft released Beatlemania, a book from fans for fans. Unfortunately it was only available in German, and it sold very poorly in comparison. It is sold out and there never was a second edition. In this book more or less known people told their very personal points of contact with the Beatles. The preface is written by Klaus Voormann. By coincidence, my story is in the book as well.

    I only have one Beatles book - "One Two Three Four" by Craig Brown and published by 4th Estate here in the UK. As it's the only Beatles biography I've read, I can't compare it to others but I can thoroughly recommend it. Brown is a very good and engaging writer.

    There's another great book on Atlantic Records by the wonderful musicologist and writer Charlie Gillett called "Making Tracks: Atlantic Records and the Growth of a Multi-Billion Dollar Industry". It came out in 1974 so it's probably been long out of print but well worth tracking down.

    Thanks for the heads-up on the new spizer book. I have all the other ones. I'm not sure if you have done a video like this on john lennon books, if not that might be interesting for a future video. I have a lot but you probably have some I've never seen.

    Great video.Want a wack-a-mole about Beatles books!!. Do you also collec comic books about them? I also liked Legacy and listen a lot Wild Life after that. What do you think about Dreaming The Beatles book? I got mine free as the fellow Beatles fan did not like the author and his style. I enjoyed it and bave been temped after that to listen Revolution 9 in the dark closet. Still waiting for next Lewinsohn book.. PS Nice shirt, expecially The first button is neat.

    Books! Books!
    What's your reading ritual? Do you read them on the balcony or in the garden or indoors? Do you read with coffee or read with gin? Do you read in the morning or read at night? Do you snack & read or is that sacrilegious? burn incense? Do you turn off your phone or let random ppl interrupt? Have you ever punched anyone for asking over your shoulder, "What're you reading?"
    I only ask because last summer a squirrel climbed onto my shoulder for no other reason than to see what I was reading. Ginsberg. This really happened.

    All I'm going to say is, why hijack your video on Beatles books with a book that has nothing to do with the Beatles? Thats something to think about.

  • @BrianR2395

    Actually, more books have been written about the JFK assassination (1,321 as of the end of 2021, with another 30 or more since then) than about the Beatles. I'm sure if you counted all the books you have on the Beatles (without counting different editions of the same book as two different books!), it would be far less than 1,321. Secondly, the problem with collecting Ringo's recorded output is the undeniable, inescapable fact that Ringo NEVER would have had ANY kind of recording career but for the fact that he was a former Fab. I'm sorry, but that's the unvarnished, unavoidable truth. I've never crunched the numbers, but it's been said that if you added up all the LPs, singles, CDs, and EPs Ringo has released since 1970, it would exceed the entire recorded output of the other three ex-Beatles COMBINED. That alone should tell you something. Thirdly, why would you collect the paperback versions of a book if you already have the hardcover version? Shouldn't the hardcover version (with dust jacket) be the definitive version of a book you would want to archive? The only exception I can see is if the paperback is a revised, updated version of the hardcover. Finally, I'd be very curious to know if you have the original, VERY limited edition of John's book SKYWRITING BY WORD OF MOUTH? It was issued in a numbered, slip-cased, clothbound edition (signed by Yoko) at the same time the regular first edition was published in late 1986. I was lucky enough to find a copy of it at the time, but I've never encountered anyone else who has it.

      Apparently more than 2000 different books have been written about the Beatles since 2020. And there have been at least twenty more since then and the same amount listed as pre publication.

      @mazzysmusic  11 месяцев назад

      I have two copies of skywriting but not the signed YOKO slipcase edition.

      @@mazzysmusic I have to believe you made a typo. Are you seriously suggesting that there have been more than 2,000 books written about the Beatles SINCE the year 2020? Or did you mean AS OF the end of 2020? Even if the latter were true (which I seriously doubt), is it fair to say your collection contains nowhere near 2,000 books? I'm just curious.
