    As always, a great informative video especially for us who don’t cut timber as a profession but interested in the work. Also, thank you for putting up the Word of our Lord because we need that reminder everyday. Thank you my friend!

    I've never done this type of work. Never drove any form of draft animal, but I love seeing the mechanics of it. Thanks Zach for your videos that looks more difficult than walking through the woods with your mules.

      I’m really glad to hear that and that you enjoy it. That’s the exact thing I’m trying to create. I want a place where everyone can come and hangout. And enjoy themselves. Even if they don’t know or even care about draft animals. I’m just glad to hear you enjoy it my friend. Thank you! It means a lot. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment: take care and do come again!

    I used to veneer cut for ethan allen furniture when i was younger. I recently was walking my dogs past a "pomponoosic mills" wood furniture showroom all lit up at 10pm at night. I nearly fell over into a mulch bed when i saw how much it sell's for nowadays....mr.bubby that wood is lucrative! I'd do anything to be doing what your doing. I miss it.

      Yes, sir, veneer. He is very expensive when you can find some. I rarely ever cut it. Most of my wood is number one common and above and lots of cross ties. Anyway, thank you for taking time to watch and comment! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Take care and do come again, please.

    Interesting video, of what I'm seeing you're most cutting hardwoods. In your area do you have spruce I know you have southern pine. The hardwood that had the stump up in the air, my spruce is about that size also, It's going to be late fall before I'll be going in, yesterday surgery was moved back another month so , its what it is, it will give me more time to watch your videos. Thanks for sharing

    • @zachodom7486
      @zachodom7486  2 месяца назад

      Sorry to hear about your surgery getting pushed out, but maybe there is a reason. When you do have surgery, I hope it all goes well my friend! I mainly just cut hardwood timber… We do have some southern pine in the area, but not a whole lot. We mainly make our living on hardwood timber. Thanks for the kind words, my friend and for taking time to watch and comment. I appreciate it, take care and come again anytime

I do make sure my wife has a gps location on me at all times tho and that I should check in by a certain time. When I don’t, she knows to come find me. Anyway, Thank you for the kind words my friend. Take care and so come again! Please

    I got several acres of tree's, but I would love to cut that top up for firewood,I got plenty but hate to see it wasted, be good to give it to some old person or disabled or just plain working poor family.

    • @zachodom7486
      @zachodom7486  2 месяца назад

      I know what you mean. I hate to see it. Go to waste too. We do not have a firewood market anymore here. So it makes it hard to get rid of. I would give it away if someone would come and get it. But you can’t even talk anyone into that anymore Anyway, thank you for taking time to watch and comment. I truly appreciate it! Take care and do come again anytime

    Looks like you are using a 20 inch blade; do you sometimes use a longer one? On Timber Titans at the Weather Channel I think I saw blades even double that length. They must be hard to wield.

    • @zachodom7486
      @zachodom7486  2 месяца назад

      I use 25” bar and chain on my Stihl 046’s and 28” bar on my Stihl 066. I just double cut when I need too. Most times I don’t have to. Longer bars are def heavier and harder to wield for sure. Weight takes it toll on a feller. Anyway, thank you sir for always taking time to watch and comment. Take care my friend! See ya next time..

    • @user-vn8bh8gt8t
      @user-vn8bh8gt8t 2 месяца назад

      What i meant was if your cutting a log for 10' lumber, how much over 10' do you cut the log, so at the sawmill they can equalize it to exactly 10, we used to have to cut ,say a 10'
      log 11' for a 10' board ! sorry if i'm not very clear on what i mean.

    • @zachodom7486
      @zachodom7486  2 месяца назад +1

      @@user-vn8bh8gt8toh okay, gotcha! So, yes we cut our 10’ logs 10’6”. Every length of log will have 6” of trim except for 9’ crossties. And they’re cut 9’ as square as we can get them. Thx for your question my friend
