The biggest downside to pulling for Fartooth, is that she precedes Near Light.

I'll be honest, when she first released about half a year ago in CN, Fartooth didn't seem very interesting to me. From her design, her kit being more or less a sidegrade to Ambriel and Schwarz but failing to really be solid sidegrade due to some pretty awkward caveats, back then I was pretty apathetic to her and especially Flametail. However, something weird happened: all of a sudden she grew on me faster than practically any other Operator in all of Arknights.
After recently re-reading through those 'fake' new reports in the Maria Nearl event, I just realized the Fartooth Knight that was supposed to partner with Blemishine disappeared....WAS Fartooth. "Duh, of course she's the 'Fartooth Knight' you pleb, what's your point?", is what you're probably thinking, but hear me out. The thing about Fartooth is that unlike most other Operators that were foreshadowed, her foreshadowing was one of the most subtle in the entire game since while she is mentioned in the story AND in the news segments, I don't think she actually physically appears in the story herself and her actual appearance was mostly unknown....until she was released. Now that I'm fully aware of what Fartooth is, the segment that went over Fartooth getting into that nasty fight and her subsequent disappearance suddenly hit harder. Like, I felt SUPER TERRIBLE for what happened to her, probably WAAAAY more than I probably should have. That realization legit awakened something in me, and then I got the urge to look up more stuff about Fartooth, such as all of the vids showing off her gameplay with her insane infinite range which in spite of being relatively underwhelming DPS-wise, looked far more fun than I thought it would be. And actually looking at her design more and more made me realize I actually love it. She's pretty smol, has an adorably puffy chest and cute voice, and her weapon is legit one of the most badass in the whole game. LITERALLY A CROSSBOW THAT FIRES SWORDS AT LONG RANGE (And that reload animation after she fires the sword is the cherry on top)!
I'll be honest, Fartooth, asides from Pallas, is probably the 6* Operator I had the most drastic change of heart for. Seeing how the traumatic events of Maria Nearl sets up her eventually joining of Rhodes Island now that she's actually in the game in CN and will very soon reach EN as well as actually seeing her gameplay once more gave me a new perspective on her, and now I kinda want her. Maybe I won't go all in, but I will definitely at least give her banner a try and raise her if I pull her. Damn...and I thought saving for Goldenglow would be easy. XP
Same for me with Saileach. At first, I thought she was just a meta pick and was not interested in her design. But after reading chapter 9 I felt her. I loved her personality and demanded for more screentime with her. Seeing her E2 art made me love her design(I have a weakness for blonde hair). But still, I was saving my orundums. The final push was made by her OST. I swear, I never felt such a strong urge to own a character just because of their OST.

@@hanscaniagochan8448 Like I said, she was supposed to be Blemishine's partner in the fight against the twin Sarkaz knights near the climax of the Maria Nearl story. But before Fartooth could even join, she apparently got into a verbal argument with a crazed fan of a differing knightclub, and it then devolved into a fistfight that went out of control. Apparently by the time the police arrived, the whole scene was a bloodbath and several people were apparently assaulted by Fartooth, while Fartooth herself got seriously injured, but disappeared without a trace. It's clear that the story was overblown in some aspects to make Fartooth look worse that she likely does, because news outlets typically blown things out of proportion, but the fact that she didn't show up in the 'duel' she was supposed to be at with Blemishine gives me the impression that the General Chamber of Commerce pulled some more strings behind the scenes to ensure that Blemishine would have zero chance of winning. And that also includes finding a way to get her partner out of the equation. In short, I believe the GCoC did some more shady shit and that ended up screwing over Fartooth pretty horribly. And considering that Fartooth is an infected knight and seeing how infected in Kazimierz are treated..... it's was just the perfect storm of utterly screwed up nonsense that would befall our poor Fartooth Knight.
@@3ds_fellgod-myhopewillneve617 I'm pretty sure Fartooth was actually set up by the executives of the Major to be assaulted before the match to force Blemishine in a 1v2 against dreadful foes bent on actually killing her.
That's how I understood it anyway and it makes more sense to me since it's stated the Major is actually really scummy and would do anything to preserve their commercial power, which Blemishine was about to severely injure since she refused sponsors and was still managing to get through each match.
Either way there is really dirty stuff happening with competition knights and it's not about to get better with Pinus Silvestris and Near Light.
@@markopusic8258 Thank you for clarifying. I'll admit that I'm not the best at remembering stuff, but I definitely knew for sure this was all set up for Blemishine to lose. The life of a competition knight is truly suffering.
for those who still want to decide to build her or not here's my experience with fartooth :
she's the kind of operator that will do huge damage due to her stacking attack increase from talent, skill, and module, in the event who is real, my fartooth without buff army were able to do 5k damage to free (the boss for the event) for each shot from her skill 3, and it's only M2 i haven't M3 that skill yet, of course in terms of dps she's beaten by a lot of operator i.e chalter, exu, or even archetto, but what makes up for it is that fartooth can attack from the other side of the map and essentially camp the enemy safely out of the enemy attack range (i know it's situational and depends on the map, but when it happens, it's satisfying af) just like in break the ice event, degenbrecher (the boss for the event) can't even do anything while fartooth just snipe her oh and also her skill 3 sp cost is cheap so you can pretty much spam it

Best thing about Fartooth's release is learning that she was ok after the fiasco.
I really want Fartooth because she's so interesting, but Nearl The Radiant it's close so maybe it's not a good idea, but Waifu is whispering to me... Oh, what a problem
If you’re not struggling financially struggling you can get her on the 6* recruitment ticket or you can get lucky on a roll she isn’t limited like NTR Knight

Is fartooth's factory skill "standardization"? What the game actually calls it is important because Mizuki's base skill seems to string search for "standardization", it won't activate on the identical rhine tech skills.

Actually, all Pinus operators won't work with Mizuki, but they form their own factory mechanic once all are released with Near Light.

I want Fartooth because I realized that summoners are my favorite archetype in the game (Snipers being 2nd). And since Im going to get Ling when she comes out, I'll be using more summoner strats and I'd love to pair Fartooth with them. Her S2 would give dps support to any summon no matter where they are. And if there is a place where I can use her S3 then I'll definitely use it.
Also since I'm saving most of my reaources for Ling, her being next to the Maria Nearl event is nit as big a deal to me. I don't plan to make many pulls outside the free ones.

@@shrivlet4380 I think I got Fartooth using a selector ticket or something. Ling I had to go to the 300 guarantee, any banner that has Dusk on it is cursed for me because its only happened on the Dusk and Ling banners. Luckily I'd been saving for so long that, even after dropping like 50-70 to get Mulberry a month before, I had more than enough, I had like 350+ pulls saved up for Ling lol.

@@shrivlet4380 fair. My luck is AK isn't as good as it used to be. I tend to do well on banners idc as much about but do poorly on ones I do. I didn't care much about Spalter got her on pull...18? (Something less than 30). Mlynar I got on pull 1. Texas alt I got on pull 9 and pull 29. Pull 31 was Saileach...ironically I kinda wanted Penance and didnt get her.
I'm worried about my luck getting Yato alter on the MH crossover, as a dual blade main, I need her.

if she was released way earlier when enemies mostly have low DEF, probably a good operator, but rn she is kinda very niche since most of metas are arts and enemies has huge DEF nowadays

@@siesta7520 got Aosta and Broca on my first 10x then I felt the gacha crave and did another and got Fartooth then I did another 30 pulls till I got Ashlock
In the end I got what I wanted but ended up spending 50 pulls all together to get them and I said “I’ll try my guaranteed luck” sigh
I’m happy but I lost this fight hopefully the Nearl limited banner will go easy on me.

I was hoping for Ashlock and now I'm here.
Fartooth was my first random 6*. And now i have GoldenGlow to go with her. Double global nonsense is REALLY good on a lot of maps. I tend to cheese smaller enemies right as they step out of their redbox, leaving only the bigger targets to focus on for my whole team.
I don't get why people sleep on Deadeye snipers' S1 skills. Yeah, they're basic, but increased attack power and speed work very well with the raw numbers they offer. It's good for the same reason you might take Firewatch with her S1 -
It. Just. Works.
Firewatch S1, is a hidden gem for her utility.
Imagine putting her on dangerous position to snipe dangerous and annoying casters, ignoring placement order.
And funnily, casters in this game have good amount of defense, which make other deadeye snipers not targetting them if your deadeye is placed where other mobs gather (usually your defense perimeter). Which is more the reason why Firewatch S1 is worth it, because she can be placed farther away from your defense perimeter + ATK buff for the bonus.
A good example of this, my S2M3 ambriel never prioritize casters/drones before the small mobs, it would be great if she does, but nope, that's just how high DEF casters and drones have (Which is also the reason why Ambriel is not rated high).
To add further, even buffed with their S1, they will never 1 shot small mobs, and this lower S1 value by lots. Often times making her extra firepower wasted on almsot dead mobs.
i got blemishine after rolling to her banner i already e2 her since her first release which makes her have 1 potential, then rolled to exu and blaze banner and got archetto from the previous banner. just a while ago i rolled again and got fartooth, now im condused who to upgrade since i got limited exp cards and resources
God I'm happy Justyna Walentin is not limited, or I'll never have chances to get her any time soon for the Kazimierz Hussar League. xD

Infinite range is fun and all but her target priority interferes with her skills. But if you have a collection fever and want to sit Exusia on the bench for a time then go ahead.

Me personally I am not too worried about Alter Nearl as I will be skippping as there are other banners in future who I would rather save my Orundum for another reason is that I have Surtr, Kal, Silverash and Eyja.
If you're a Nearl simp, yeah, best avoid rolling for Fartooth to increase your chances on getting NTR Knight.
Her archetype is her only weakness

She can hold some solo lanes by herself that have fewer enemies, and in large groups, she can burst down huge groups consistently. 4,000 aoe dmg per mine? Yes please. (Skalter pairs with her and Thorns nicely)

...and this is problem about limited operators. You're forced to save resources for them and ignore "standard" operators.
We already have standard banners as "not important ones", and now event banners with new operators slowly becoming like this. It was okay for limited operators showing every 6 month, but right now it's less than 3 months for EN.
I understand that Hypergryph wants more money from whales, but please don't be so agressive about that, we like Arknights for it's f2p (or only monthly card) friendly nature.
I mean, I have no interest in nalter and I already have W so I’m skipping near light. limited doesn’t mean you’re forced to save for it, only that you might be more motivated than a standard banner. I’m just going to borrow a friend nalter if I ever need it.
To be honest the only limited unit so far that is really worth the "P2W" tag is Chalter (though Ling will be following soon in a different and more niche fashion) so it's not exactly threatening the F2P status of the game.
It does suck though if you want the limited operators for whatever reason because this schedule has been aggressive.

Spark currency shop is the limited shop in which you can trade 75 currencies for the on rate 5 star or 300 currencies for a 6 star operator
