Hi Melissa! I've just discovered your channel while trying to figure out a skincare routine for AM/PM using Korean Skincare. I have been watching some of your videos of Beauty of Joseon and COSRX, I have combination skin, I don't often get acne but I have blackheads on my nose I want to get rid of. I'm wondering what products you think would be best for me out of these two brands? I would love to use a serum in my PM routine. Thanks for your amazing videos! :)
Hey! :) You can try a Salicylic Acid Cleanser or Leave-On product. However, from my experience it works best to extract blackheads with a tool (or let a professional do this for you) and then maintain it with a Salicylic Acid product :) What skincare products do you currently use?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Awesome thank you! I’ll definitely try that out. I have the Cerave foaming cleanser and the moisturising lotion, I have been really bad at using any skincare in the past year 😬 So if I use a salicylic acid cleanser should I be using a gentle toner after instead of a BHA one? And is it alright to use a Niacinamide serum in the same routine? 😊
😢This boj cleansing oil is good for dry to combination acne prone sensitive skin ?? It does clogged pores or breakouts or not!?? It help remove blackheads whiteheads?????plz Tell me
It is good, and no, it does not clog pores if you remove it properly. However, their cleansing balm is even better; it's this one: ruclips.net/video/uMdx0Z4J9JY/видео.html
It says on the package that you should use a water based cleanser after the oil cleanser. I’ve been googling and asking, but some say that you HAVE TO and some say you can just use an oil cleanser. No one is explaining why/why not and I’m none the wiser. Do jeg have to use a water based cleanser after using an oil cleanser?
The cleanser on its own can be effective, because it is formulated to emulsify and rinse off with water. These cleansers are designed to dissolve and remove oil-based impurities like makeup and sebum. When emulsified with water, they can be washed away, leaving the skin clean and often more hydrated than traditional water-based cleansers. However, the practice of following an oil cleanser with a water-based cleanser, known as double cleansing, is recommended for a more comprehensive clean. This is particularly beneficial for those with oily, combination, or acne-prone skin. The water-based cleanser helps to remove any residual oil from the oil cleanser as well as water-soluble impurities (like sweat and some environmental pollutants) that the oil cleanser may not fully remove.
Hi, can i use this with cetaphil gentle cleanser then TO Glycolic Toner 7% / Adapalene at night? And is this sunscreen shown in the video, good for acne prone oily skin?
No, please do not use Glycolic Acid and Adapalene in the same skincare routine. Instead, use each one separately in the evening on different days. The BoJ sunscreen is suitable for all skin types and is highly hydrating, so if you experience dryness from using Adapalene, it can definitely help.
Hello! I love your videos and how educational they are. I was wondering if this can be paired as a double cleanser with the CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser?
Yes, you can! 😊 Although, I think that if you were to use a mild/hydrating gel-to-foam or foaming cleanser, you would enjoy it much more. For example, using Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser - I love that one a lot! 😊

Hi Melissa:) i just bought this product along Joseon revive eye serum (with retinal) today. I am wondering if it is safe to use retinal eye serum after applying Ordinary retinol. I saw somewhere that it’s not good to mix different retinol products at once but i wasn’t sure if retinal is a different story…
Hello whisperofsoul0, It's just a different form. Retinol needs to be converted by the skin into tretinoin, which happens in two stages: Retinol (The Ordinary) -> Retinal (the one you have by Beauty of Joseon) -> Tretinoin (which it turns into), the active form that the skin can use. Therefore, you should not use them together because they are essentially the same. Alternatively, you could use the eye cream on the eye contour and the retinol on the rest of your face.

You can try removing it and then pumping a few times before putting it back in. If that doesn’t work, then consider getting a refund or a replacement.
Thank you for the demonstration. ☺️
