I would like to point out that the retinal eye serum tube lasts a SUPER long time. I only finished my first tube last week, and I bought it several months ago. The tube looked empty for about 2 months before it finally ran out. Definitely the best value for a retinal product by far.
@@jam6web84it doesn't get rid of eye bags in my opinion. Vitamin E needs a lot of time to show results but they are worth it in the long run. After one year of usage I noticed that fine lines around the eyes are softening, some have disappeared. The skin is getting thicker, less translucent and therefore less red and irritated looking around my eyes. To get rid of puffiness the best thing for me is a cooled spoon from the fridge.😅
Just a quick thankyou for your videos. We don't have many people (if any) in Australia doing what you're doing. You're articulate and yet easy to understand. You're soooo relatable and real and it's such a pleasure to be learning from you. Thankyou Michelle!
Hey there, it’s really exciting to see that you’re talking about this brand. And kudos to you for titling your video openly as advertisement. I like that you’re being very forthcoming about your position.
Thank you! I'm glad you like it - I've been doing it as far back as I can remember! I used to get a lot of crap for it but I think people are starting to come around on it 😊
I wonder if "sponsored" would be a better term to use... to me "ad" makes it sound far more like it's going to be like a fake ad-read script that isn't their own opinions (even though that isn't the case here).
I'm a big fan of their red bean water gel. It is so cooling and hydrating, no smell, no residue, and its frosty pink packaging looks yummy (no eat! only moisturize!)
Oh, the whole “picking off foundation colored skin flakes with a pair of tweezers” situation- you have sold me on the peeling gel, Michelle! Thank you!
Breaks my heart to hear that you're struggling with Endo 😞 My mom had that growing up and it was like watching a horror movie in slow motion. Wishing you all the best ❤ Many thanks for all the amazing content you share!
I have managed to use almost all of their products, and my faves for my dry skin have been the deep glow arbutin and the propolis serums, dynasty cream, sunscreen, ginseng toner, the sheet masks and cleansing balm. I like the way they are fragrance and denatured alcohol free, and also so affordable.
I freaking love BOJ! I use their eye serum, ginseng essence, green plum exfoliator, and I just bought their new Vitamin C + centella serum. Hope it works as well as the rest of them have for me!
100% agree on peeling gels! I first heard about Secret Key’s Sparkling Lemon peeling gel from Gothamista years ago, and I’ve been using it ever since. It gently buffs away any flakiness from using retinols. They’re like a super fine grit, final step sandpaper for your face 😂 give it that baby smooth feel.
BOJ products are really good. I use their oil cleanser rather than the balm cleanser. It's great at getting off makeup and doesn't sting my eyes or make my vision blurry like a lot of oil cleansers do.
The cleansing balm was the first BOJ product that I’ve used and I LOVE it! I bought the sunstick next and now it is one of my holy grail products! It is mattefying even after a few hours, and I’m the sweaty oily type so that says a lot! I’m still trying out the sunscreen and the dynasty cream and so far, so good! I’m all for cruelty-free, affordable, and effective skin care which BOJ relatively satisfies all.
This is the way one does an AD! Well done mate. Your videos are the best. Would love love a best of Cica products if you ever felt the need. Thanks legend, love a fellow Aussie skincare enthusiast xoxo
I randomly purchased the cleansing balm since I didn't really have an oil cleanser in my routine and omg it works so well to remove makeup. First of all, the initial texture is satisfying and it melts quickly in the palms. It feels super gentle and rinses off easily without leaving an oily film on the skin. Definitely recommend this cleanser for anyone looking to get into double cleansing.
I love the ginseng cleansing oil, it’s amazing, and it doesn’t leave a film if you’re tired and just want to single cleanse! Removes all my eye makeup!
I tried their Red Bean Paste mask as a wild blind buy and WOW!! It's both cleansing and 'cushioning' and hydrating at the same time. It doesn't dry to a rock hard clay 'shell' but does dry up a little, when you can gently massage it off with water. It's excellent. I have reactive, sensitive, acne-prone skin and the pandemic was an odd game changer for me: I stopped wearing foundation every day as I wore a mask to work full time and noticed my skin's improvement almost immediately. I wonder how many other women felt surprising skincare and wellbeing benefits to laying off the slap for a couple of years? Instead I got heavily into trying new skincare, both ultra expensive high end and cheap K and J drugstore stuff. Amazing. Beauty of Joseon is a brand I'd like to explore further and so I'm glad your video popped up on my feed in order to inadvertently remind me to keep exploring their range.
Thanks for explaining the benefits of peeling gels. I also have had the gross painful experience of trying to remove nasty flakes around my sad tormented nose after allergies/illnesses, so I’ll consider getting a peeling gel for that situation.
I’m really looking forward to making my next skincare purchase from Beauty of Joseon. I’ve been eyeing their serums, but I want to try their sunscreen after seeing you talk about it.
You had me at fragrance free. My skin is such a whiny baby, and while fragrance might be fine for many, any perfum in my skincare gives me a rash. Yet I i struggle to find affordable, effective products that don't have fragrance in. I'm so excited to try this brand, thanks Dr. Lab Muffin!
I first tried the heimish cleansing balm, as recommended in a video by cassandra bankson, and then found out that it has microplastic in it. It is actually really hard to find a cleansing balm without microplastic in it, but as far as i can tell, the boj one doesn‘t amd got, i have been loving it since day one!
i had a negative view on physical exfoliators but after i saw your exfoliating video awhile back i immediately ordered the BOJ peeling gel. i use it often now and even got my mom on it
Thank you for the review. The eye cream is one of the ones that are worth it. Hard to find a retin products safe for eyes. Their formulations are so elegant more so than luxury. The cleanser is sooo good and it does have a bouncy texture. Thanks again for taking the time
Thanks for your videos. I love that you bring an unbiased scientific perspective with your reviews. I have been an ingredient watcher for years but you explain balance and efficacy (like how using topical tyrosine is not the best move). I use the BoJ retinal eye serum on my face (Retinal, along with vitamin d, is part of my routine that I developed to keep my skin, with decades of chronic eczema, flareup-free.). I also use the ginseng essence. I chose another sunscreen (Haruharu) because I avoid any chance of a white cast on my dark skin.
Actually, SCINIC has released the Cicanoid Retinal Cream which, I believe, contains 0,05% Retinal, some Retinol and Bakuchiol. I haven't tried it yet but the ingredients seem pretty good as far as my skincare knowledge goes.
Ha! That’s so funny, I found a similar combo product today as well while browsing. Mine is from colibri skincare. It’s a German brand, so probably not as known.

I think peeling gels got an undeserved bad name because of the whole confusion around salespeople saying it was dead skin 🙄. To me, they are a step up from a gommage style exfoliant, and I've just added another one onto my regimen
I just bought the sunscreen & the ginseng cleansing oil. I love it. Love the sunscreen too but I like my Japanese one better. It's called Suncut. You get more product & it's more affordable. Just as sheer & lightweight as the BOJ sunscreen. Great video
So far, i have been enjoying the cleansing balm and oil: both are so gentle! And yes, the plum cleanser leaves my skin feeling smooth. Also tried their sunscreen (tube) and propolis serum which were also amazing! Now I can't wait to try the Ginseng essence! And maybe their new Vitamin C w/ Centella too (need to see more reviews first though). 😊💞

The beauty of Joseon one makes my skin feel amazing afterward. I'm glad I gave it a go! I want to try more of their products in the future when the stuff I have runs out.
I love the eye serum. I also use it on my face and thankully I've never suffered irritation. Recently ordered the centella and vit c serum, the green tea and panthenol (I think that's how you spell it) serum and the red bean mask.
May I ask, what benefits have you seen from the retinal eye serum? I’m considering getting it as my first retinal for short term until I can get G&G ☺️
i was using a sunscreen with really strong white cast before i got my hands on the beauty of joseon one and now i think i'm a life long convert. this is genuinely the only face sunscreen i've ever used that doesn't leave a white cast after drying down and absorbing. and it feels like moisturizer. genuinely for the first time in my life i'm able to use the correct amount of sunscreen for my face every day. i owe beauty of joseon everything
thanks to you have been sharing the benefits of using peeling gel since long time ago, now it's became staple in my skincare routine. It reduces the irritating potency while I'm also using another chemical exfoliator, both exfoliator I use only once a week in different day 😊
I LOVE the ginseng water. It is super hydrating as you say. I do think it has a smell but as someone who hates floral and frutal scents, it has a pleasant earthy smell
Regarding peeling gels and similar products: make sure the particles don’t end up in the oceans as even more plastic waste pollution. When I use it I prefer salt or sugar as the peeling agent because that is obviously soluble. Also, it doesn’t clog the drain.
Hi Michelle :) Thanks for the video on one of my fave Korean skincare brands! I have a similar skin type to you, and so far the sunscreen, eye cream and glow deep serum are the products I love, but I’m looking forward to trying more! By the way, I just recently found out I have endo too a few weeks ago when I had surgery for fibroids. So I definitely feel you when you mention hormonal changes. For me it’s been a bit of a journey, but I’m so relieved to finally have an answer! I’d be interested to hear what your experience has been like with it ❤️🩹
I've been meaning to do a blog post on it - it's been a journey, I've had horrific period pain for almost as long as I've had periods and always suspected endo but never acted on it until my gyno couldn't access an ovary during egg freezing! It's been about 2 years since my surgery and I was pretty worried it would just make everything worse, the recovery took a while (turns out I had stage 4) but the reduction in pain is really noticeable now! So glad you have an answer too, and hope your recovery is going well and you're getting the rest you need!
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience thanks Michelle, it’s been the same for me! I’ve had the worst time with my period since I can remember! But I’ve only ever been offered the pill or iud. It got so bad that I’d be doubled over in pain, I’d have to call in sick for work, I’d sometimes have it twice a month, I was constantly fatigued, and at one point this year my iron count was 2, and that was while I was taking supplements. I honestly didn’t even think I could have fibroids or endometriosis until I saw a random video on Instagram that prompted me to request an ultrasound. It only showed the fibroids, which I got booked in to surgery for, and my specialist said she’d look for endo while she was doing that, and so luckily it was treated at the same time. I’m not sure what my stage is, I think my specialist will tell me that at my next appointment. I’m doing my best to educate myself and bought a book called How to Endo by Bridget Hustwaite which is really funny and relatable as well as informative. I also ordered an Ovira tens machine which has some really good reviews so I’m hoping it will help with the pain, as well as a rechargeable heating pad from Chemist Warehouse. If this experience has taught me anything, it’s that you really have to self-advocate when it comes to your health and wellbeing ❤️🩹 By the way, a blog post would be awesome and very much appreciated🌻
I have the retinal eye cream I love it. Just got my sunscreen in the mail. Looking forward to trying it this week as everything else I have tried has stung my eyes.
I love the cleansing balm! It’s the only one I’ve tried so far that can remove Kiss Me mascara super waterproof. It’s so light and doesn’t leave my face greasy after washing it off.
I’m a 1st time watcher. I really enjoyed this video. I like the way you explain things. I subbed I love BOJ products they are my favorite. I’ve got to try the peeling gel now😊
Thank you for this. BoJ is my favorite Korean brand. I’ve repurchased the essence several times. I’m loving the cleansing balm. I have the cleansing oil and the retinal serum to try. The Glow Deep serum is a product that I hope will eventually be useable on my sensitive skin. I currently can’t use it more than once a week, but I like how it improves my skin’s appearance. I look forward to trying your recommendations, except the Glow serum. I’m allergic to salicylic acid, which makes it not a product for me. Again, thanks.
Hi! Does the Ginseng essence have a hint of slip to it? I have dry skin and find it a bit difficult applying super watery toners/essences.. Thank you! 💞
@@SkintitaApril Hi. I’m not really sure what slip means. It’s a very watery texture that spreads easily and absorbs quickly. I have very dry skin, and it works very well for me as my first application after cleansing. I’m also sensitive to niacinamide, and I have no reaction from it in this formula. I apply it with my hands using three quick shakes from the bottle. I’ve never tried it using cotton round or anything like that. I hope this helps.
I love the BoJ spf and I stumbled upon your channel (subscribed!) 🎉 I'm so excited to try more from this brand and also thank you for clarifying how to use the peeling gel and what it is! I always avoid mechanical peels but this sounds ok!
i love peeling gels! i feel like people think that they don’t do anything but i used a peeling gel when my face was literally CHAPPED and problem solved, i’ve been a fan ever since
Big thanks for your work, Michelle! You're my go-to for skincare advice. Would you review Peach & Lily? They've got great ingredient lists in my novice view. I'm particularly interested in their peptide moisturiser, spot treatment (as a not-spot treatment), and retinal serum.
Ive tried a few of their products. The cleanser in the green tube is so nice! It’s gentle and suitable for every skintype. I have oily, acne prone skin and eczema. Also the mint green packaging is so pretty and expensive looking.❤
it's funny when I learn about skincare hacks that would've been ideal at the beginning of the season, yet here we are at the end of summer here lol. Could've been using hydrating toner under sunscreen, but with my oily skin I think it's still worth a shot. Thanks!
You sold me on their sunscreen a few months ago and it got me through summer. I have oily skin and I'm very sensitive to heavy feelings on my face to the point I would've rather skipped sunscreen in the past. Yes it looks very glowy but I don't care, as long as it's light weight I can always apply some powder, and this one definitely is light. I got a sample of the glow serum recently and it's been lovely I think, there's just not enough to be sure long term lol
Thanks, I've added the eye serum to my cart with the rest of their products 😅 Edit: I have the Green Plum cleanser and am already planning on repurchasing when it runs out and trying more of the range. So affordable so why not?
Thanks for these quick reviews and recommendations. I’ve only tried BoJ’s Ginseng Essence Water and my skin loves it. Now I’m excited to try their eye and Glow serums, along with their SPF.
I love their sunscreen! It has a good texture and I can use it without needing a moisturizer first. I'd like to try some of their other products, like the Ginseng toner and one of their serums.
I’ve been using BOJ sunscreen for quite a while, but order it from Amazon. Maybe it’s a fake product ? 🤷♀️ I have had the peeling mask for a while, but haven’t tried it yet, now after seeing you use it, I most definitely will. I also have the Retinal, but wanted to use up the Avene Retinal first. I suppose I could use both, but alternate days. Thanks !
love love loveee the glow serum i it the best you look so supple and glowing after using it the sun screen is bomb as well haven't tried the rest but sure will 🤍🤍🤍
I also love the BOJ apricot peeling gel. I’m definitely planning on buying it again. It helps do the surface housekeeping on my skin at the end of the day so that my retinoid can have the best access. It’s so gentle though that I find I can ignore recommendations and use it every night with no irritation or other issues. I’ve really loved my skin with this routine and I get a steady stream of compliments.
I think people are sleeping on peeling gels because for a while everyone was under the impression it was their dead skin coming off , & my guess is once they found out that wasn’t the case people assumed they were useless or they’ve been lied too.
I love peeling gels too bec I also always have peeling skin around my nose because of my hay fever hence always blowing my nose😊 plus i use tret everyday and i feel peeling gels just help with faster skin renewal so smoother feeling skin 👌
I recently picked up the cleansing balm after seeing some people including (I think) Dr Dray talk about it and I have never used a smoother feeling balm, just straight into this light oil which is so easy to just wash off - like it's an oil but barely oily.
I love the BoJ sunscreen!!! Unfortunately, my skin does not like the glow propolis serum, it makes my skin itchy and more prone to having acne throughout the day. 😢
I would like to point out that the retinal eye serum tube lasts a SUPER long time. I only finished my first tube last week, and I bought it several months ago. The tube looked empty for about 2 months before it finally ran out. Definitely the best value for a retinal product by far.

thanks to you have been sharing the benefits of using peeling gel since long time ago, now it's became staple in my skincare routine. It reduces the irritating potency while I'm also using another chemical exfoliator, both exfoliator I use only once a week in different day 😊
i actually really liked the essence, cleansing balm, and spf! so i’d check out their other products! thanks, michelle!
I LOVE the ginseng water. It is super hydrating as you say. I do think it has a smell but as someone who hates floral and frutal scents, it has a pleasant earthy smell
I have the eye serum, sunscreen and glow serum and I am completely obsessed
Woman you are so trustworthy, I adore your work and support you forever ❤
So happy to see you again, you are a breath of fresh air. Thank you for this.
I love BOJ, you're gonna make me spend some more money on their products again 😅😅 was looking forward to a video like this though 😍
Regarding peeling gels and similar products: make sure the particles don’t end up in the oceans as even more plastic waste pollution. When I use it I prefer salt or sugar as the peeling agent because that is obviously soluble. Also, it doesn’t clog the drain.
The sunscreen must be approved in the EU because it’s available in several big established retailers (in Denmark anyway)😊
❤❤❤Loved this review of my ride or die brand. I also love your shout out to Kelly Driscoll this was so wholesome❤
I love her, so underrated! And thank you!
I love the peels!! When they’re gentle! I’m going to try this one! I just bought several BOJ products and I love it so far!! ❤❤❤
Yay! I hope it works well for your skin 😊
I have the retinal eye cream I love it. Just got my sunscreen in the mail. Looking forward to trying it this week as everything else I have tried has stung my eyes.
Hope it works for you! 🤞
Does it reduce under eye puffiness and eye bags?
@@jam6web84I don’t think so .
There’s an ingredient in the cleansing balm that irritated my skin. Took a while to recover. Was bummed because the texture is nice.
I’ve got to try the peeling gel now😊
The green tea serum by BOJ has been such a great find for my super oily sensitive skin. It's so light weight and doesn't react with my rosacea!
I am just starting to explore BOJ and really appreciate your detailed reviews and u awesome no b.s application of science to debunk myths. ❤
How nice! I just got Beauty of Joseon sunscreen, cause of your and other popular influencers videos about it back then!
I love this brand. It has truly changed my skin. Was surprised to learn it's more popular in the west.
Thank you for this amazing review. I also follow Kelly Driscoll...❤
I am in love with the green tea serum... perfect for olly skin!
Ive tried a few of their products. The cleanser in the green tube is so nice! It’s gentle and suitable for every skintype. I have oily, acne prone skin and eczema. Also the mint green packaging is so pretty and expensive looking.❤
I adore the Ginseng Water and Cleansing Balm! So good.
Thank you for this helpful video. I am really interested in seeing a Best Of for the Inkey List ❤
I’ve just not long discovered peeling gels. Love them!!!!
This is a great brand. I’ve used a few of their products and agree with you 💯 Thank you for sharing your reviews!
Fragrance free 👍👍👍👍👍 Love cleansing balms to remove sunscreen at the end of the day - I use moisturizing sunscreens and need a balm to remove those.
I'm all in! It looks amazing-I'd love to try it! 🥰✨
it's funny when I learn about skincare hacks that would've been ideal at the beginning of the season, yet here we are at the end of summer here lol. Could've been using hydrating toner under sunscreen, but with my oily skin I think it's still worth a shot. Thanks!
I love the Glow Deep serum, it has alpha-arbutin 2%, rice and niacinamide!
Thanks, I've added the eye serum to my cart with the rest of their products 😅
Edit: I have the Green Plum cleanser and am already planning on repurchasing when it runs out and trying more of the range. So affordable so why not?
I was excited to try these Korean beauty products only to find out when they arrived there are made in China?
Thanks for these quick reviews and recommendations. I’ve only tried BoJ’s Ginseng Essence Water and my skin loves it. Now I’m excited to try their eye and Glow serums, along with their SPF.
The eye serum is amazing! So gentle but effective!
Sounds perfect, thanks!
I love their sunscreen! It has a good texture and I can use it without needing a moisturizer first. I'd like to try some of their other products, like the Ginseng toner and one of their serums.
I love peeling gels! So slept on!
Thanks !
Thanks for highlighting BOJ! Will have to check out their cleansers
I have tried all of these and a few others. I love this brand!! I have not tried their cleansers or the Dynasty Cream but they are on my list 😊
Thank you for sharing! I’ve been really curious about the peeling gel but I’ve heard mixed reviews; going to give it a shot
The essence is incredible, smells amazing! I can't get enough..... I need it in a giant bottle lol
My goodness girl you are so aesthetic i love your videos and your looking so pretty
love love loveee the glow serum i it the best you look so supple and glowing after using it the sun screen is bomb as well haven't tried the rest but sure will 🤍🤍🤍
Great Video. Always clear and concise!
I literally LOVE beauty of joseon. I have all of those products except for the cleansing balm, it's on my wishlist tho ❤
