Hey! 😊 What skincare products are you currently using? How long have you been experiencing dry skin? What skincare products have you tried so far? Also, are you sure you have dry skin, or is it just some flaking?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Hi I had this dry skin for a year, it's flaky a lot, and even though I've used sunscreen, it didn't get better, and I'm using sun cream now, and it doesn't get better.
@@sh_____________ Well, flaky skin doesn't necessarily mean dry skin because the skin goes through shedding cycles to renew itself naturally. Also, the weather or certain skincare products/medications can influence this as well. What cleanser and sunscreen do you use? How long have you been using them? Do you use any other skincare products or medications?
@@sh_____________ Ok, well, you may want to try out Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser and their AHA+BHA Toner. As for a moisturizer (if you really feel the need), look for an oil-free formulation and one without or with very little Vitamin E (Tocopherol). Use your sunscreen only in the AM, and only if you really have a lot of sun exposure. People nowadays fear the sun and overuse sunscreens, which may create more problems than benefits.

Hii Melissa, sorry for too many queries but I'm new to this skincare routine earlier I was using cleanser moisturize and olay spf 15 so please guide me in my skincare routine It's been 2 weeks since I'm following this skincare routine Skin type - Normal to combination Am Cetaphil Gentle cleanser Cosrx Snail Mucin power essence Cetaphil moisturizer (Normal to combination) Olay Spf 15 day cream PM Cleanser Cosrx AHA/BHA toner (2-3 days a week) Cosrx snail mucin essence Citaphil Moisturizer I have following questions- I want to reduce my acne marks, pigmentations and making my skin glow. I was facing breakouts that's why I started skincare routine now I want to add BOJ Serum 1. Please suggest me which and when boj serum should I incorporate in my routine 2. Earlier I have been applying aloe vera gel at night and it helps me with my breakout so now can I leave a layer of aloe vera gel after applying Snail Mucin essence (on days when I'm not using AHA/BHA toner) 3. I also have dark circles so please recommend something for my dark circles.
Hey! :) You do not need to use Cetaphil's moisturizer in the AM when using Olay's Day Cream with SPF 15, as this already serves as your moisturizer and a light sunscreen in one. You can try the Beauty of Joseon Deep Glow Serum for your pigmentation. Also, achieving glowy skin (using an exfoliant or mild scrub + something hydrating) requires ongoing maintenance, as it's only temporary; natural skin tends to have a more matte appearance. If Aloe Vera Gel works well for you, use it instead of Cetaphil's moisturizer :) Regarding your dark circles, it's essential to determine the cause. Stress, lack of sleep, food/drink intolerance, and other factors can contribute. If it's something like that, I recommend addressing the underlying issue to reduce dark circles. However, if it's due to genetics or hollowness, there isn't much you can do aside from using concealer. You might consider trying The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Eye Serum or a similar product, but identifying the root cause and treating it would likely be more effective.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you so much Melissa :) One last thing can you suggest any other sunscreen which is good because I don't know much about them and I heard that spf 15 is not that much protective.
@@asthasingh1731 Yeah, well, it depends on how much sun exposure you have. Do you have a lot? If so, then you may need additional protection. But if you only have short intervals, it's not needed, and the SPF 15 should already do a good job. However, the ones I like are from Beauty of Joseon, with their rice SPF 50 sunscreen, Good Molecules' sheer mineral SPF 30, and, lastly, Winona SPF 48. They have light formulations with great ingredients and feel lightweight on the skin and give great protection.
I use the snail mucin essence by cosrx and I recently ordered the ginseng essence, which one should I use first? i generally use the snail mucin one on dump skin
I would recommend applying the ginseng essence as the first layer. It's important not to confuse damp and wet skin. If you want to learn more about how to apply skincare on damp skin, you can watch the following video: ruclips.net/video/xNUUUr81rLE/видео.html
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you so much! I actually use the termal water and pat it before it applying the essence, but I'm guilty of not letting it dry completely, I didn't find any issues as I thought it was more hydrating that way 😅 and what about the glow serum? I should apply it after the snail mucin and before the moisturizer right?
It may feel that way initially, but if you cleanse your face before your skin becomes saturated with water, there is no need to do this. Unless you believe that the thermal water provides minerals or antioxidant effects, which could be the case. The objective is to retain the hydration that your skin has already absorbed. However, feel free to do as you prefer. Yes, you can use the glow serum after the snail mucin but before applying moisturizer. Nevertheless, it may not make a significant difference since these formulations (serum, essence, snail mucin) have similar textures.

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet hi! COSRX. I'm satisfied with the products; they're effective and they reduce my acne. They're genuinely good, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to people who struggle with pimples. However, I don't think they're my "holy grail." They leave my face looking overly oily-not the radiant, glass skin appearance, but rather a kind of I-could-see-things-reflected-on-my-face oily (sorry, English is not my first language, and I struggle with descriptions, grammar, and punctuation). I also feel that they don't blend well into my skin; when I touch my face, there's always product residue left, even if I only use small amounts. I'm not sure, but I think my skin isn't absorbing it properly. Maybe it's because of how I apply the products, not sure. I'm 24F. Never did skincare in my life (except maybe cleanser, but not consistent, I was used to washing my face with soap, not the soap that's specifically for face but the one I use to wash my whole body). I think I've only used sunscreen ten times in my life (before I started doing skincare routine) and never put it on my neck. I don't like putting my hair in a bun and always cover my face with it because I am hate my face, and because of that I always get pimples, and when I get pimples, I would cover my face more with my hair (endless cycle). Started seeing discoloration on my skin, pimples that don't go away, acne scars that get darker and darker, more and more blackheads and whiteheads, bigger pores, darker and bigger circles around the eyes. Hated everything about my face. After seeing my sister glowing and radiant when I visited her, she introduced me to COSRX. Looked at their website and they have this "chat with CosRX MD" or something, told them my concerns and they recommended me products and curated a skincare routine for me. I thought that maybe because it was my sister's holy grail, it would also be mine.
This is what they gave me: AM Routine Step 1 : Cleanser Step 2 : AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner Step 3 : Niacinamide 15 Serum Step 4 : Full fit Propolis Light Ampoule Step 5 : Full Fit Propolis Light Cream Step 6 : Sunscreen PM Routine Step 1 : Cleanser Step 2 : One Step Original Clear Pad Step 3 : Vitamin C 13 Serum Step 4 : Full fit Propolis Light Ampoule Step 5 : Full Fit Propolis Light Cream They told me this is mainly to target my acne problems. I think BOJ would be my "all-in-one" solution for all my problems, with the discoloration of my face and that niacinimide thing and those ginseng stuff. I don't know. They gave me niacinamide too tho. Anyway, it's still two weeks in so maybe my face just need time to adopt/adapt{?)
@@mamamargaux9461 Are you not happy with the routine? Are you experiencing any issues while using the products? If so, what kind of issues do you have? And how about the layering-does it feel good on the skin?
hi, i really love ur channel, really helps with my skin so much! can i use the 3 serums all at once by giving it 5minutes interval? bcus all of my skin problem rn, or shuld i alternates use them? thank you
I wouldn't do that as that becomes too much, and you are doubling or tripling even some of the ingredients, which is unnecessary (in my opinion). So I recommend alternating days or using one in the morning and the other in the evening.
Hi Melissa, if I have dry/sensitive/acne prone skin, is it okay to use the toner and glow deep serum if both have niacinimide? Is that combination too strong? Or should I get the Glow Revive Serum? Thank you!
Generally, their products contain a low percentage of active ingredients to minimize the chances of causing any issues. Additionally, Niacinamide is typically not known to cause problems. Therefore, using it in multiple products in your skincare routine will increase the amount but not the percentage, which means it should not be an issue.
Which one do you have? The new one? If so, it should be alright. Still, overall, Glycolic Acid is not the best for sensitive skin and often causes stinging or burning even in low concentrations. So, it all depends on your personal skin tolerance!
Hi Melissa I wanted to ask which one should i incorporate glow serum or glow deep serum, i have combination skin, little bit of comedones and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation which are not that deep they are less but i mainly wanted glow and lightening of my scars from any of this serum I have been using bha already in my routine I know it would be better to use a retinol in this case but i wanted to try something else
Hey! 😊 Try BoJ Glow Deep Serum with Alpha Arbutin - be consistent with it. However, keep in mind that if you have physical scars, it won't do much for you. It's more effective for treating dark spots on the skin's surface.
Ohh I just checked and the glow deep serum is out of stock so can u recommend something for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation scars other than any kind of retinol
@@almasimtiaz3109 Ok. Either look for a different Alpha Arbutin Serum, or check out a Niacinamide, Vitamin C or Liquorice serum to brighten those spots :)
Forgive me for not diving deep into the comments to search for the answer to my question, but I'm wondering if retinol can be used within the framework of this routine that you've laid out? I've been eyeballing BOJ for some time now, and I have been beyond drawn in by the claims and overall reviews of the line. But I'm currently working with about a half-finished tube of Skinceuticals 0.5 Retinol cream. My skin has acclimated to it well, and I am pleased with the results thus far. That being said, I miss the days of my skin feeling perfectly hydrated ✨️. If anyone in here uses retinol and understands what I mean, I see you. But I'm just curious how/if at all retinol should be used with these products, as I'm well aware that certain acidic properties can be conflicting on the skin. Thank you for your in-depth coverage of this line, and have a wonderful day out there. 💕
Do you use the retinol cream daily? If so, I suggest reducing its use to three times per week or even lowering the strength to 0.1-0.3%. I've noticed far less dryness and sensitivity with this adjustment, and yet the results remain consistent. From my experience, it's best to use retinol independently. However, on the days you're not applying retinol, you can incorporate certain Beauty of Joseon products suitable for your needs. This method offers a balanced routine. On retinol days, I personally limit my regimen to just my cleanser. Only occasionally do I use moisturizing gels, toners, or serums. That approach has worked best for me.
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial I truly appreciate your quick reply. It was exactly the recommendation I needed. As I have acclimated to it, I have been using my retinol cream nightly with a gentle hydrating cleanser by La Roche Posay, with great visual effect for my overall skin tone, topped off with an Olay moisturizer. Before I made the switch to them as my nightly routine, I simply washed with a generic apricot scrub and similar Olay cream. I'm really only just recently getting into a more involved skincare routine, and I just want to make sure that I don't unintentionally damage my skin in the switch to some more heavy-duty products (the retinols and AHA/BHA types). Again, thank you so much for your reply. I will be sure and dial back my retinol use once I begin to incorporate some of these serums and toners. And I'll be sure to follow your channel for more tips and potential products on down the line. :)
@@Drifter.Dreams The best approach is to incorporate the products gradually, introducing one at a time. If you have a new product, give it a couple of weeks to see how well you tolerate it before adding another. This way, you can quickly identify the cause of any irritation or sensitivities, should they arise.
Well, it is possible that it could cause an increase in the beginning or if you do not tolerate a particular ingredient well. However, this can happen with any cleanser. To truly assess its performance, you would need to use it consistently over a period of time.
You can simply use the green plum toner, or, generally speaking, just use the products you like. There's no need to integrate them all; this was just a demonstration of how you can do it.
Hey! :) Thank you! No, I've just tried their Effaclar K, Cicaplast Gel, Toleriane Ultra Fluid (which I love) and Toleriane Sensitive. However, I've read somewhere that they updated the Toleriane Ultra Fluid formulation and now it isn't as good anymore - but I haven't tried the new one so I'm not sure what to think of it.
@@dominik4017 I use and prefer the teaspoon method, as I have found that it works well for most sunscreens. However, it is important to have a protective layer of sunscreen all over your skin, while still feeling comfortable. I would recommend testing it out and seeing how it goes. 😀
Hey Melissa Please tell can i layer Propolis glow serum with Niacinamide and what should i use first And also tell me is it safe to use during pregnancy because it contains Salix Alba Bark Extract or Betaine Salicylate if you have any idea regarding this so please clear my confusion
Hi there, It is generally safe to layer Propolis glow serum and Niacinamide in your skincare routine. In terms of the order of application, you can use Niacinamide first, and then follow it up with the glow serum. Regarding the use of these products during pregnancy, it's always best to consult with a doctor. While many skincare products are safe to use during pregnancy, some ingredients should be avoided or used with caution. Salix Alba Bark Extract and Betaine Salicylate are both derived from salicylic acid, which is generally not recommended for use during pregnancy. However, the concentration and formulation of these ingredients can vary, so it's important to check with a healthcare provider or the manufacturer for specific guidance.

Ok. Still, you may be happy when using a mild foaming/gel-to-foam cleanser to wash your face. However, overall you routine looks good. Hi Melissa! Many thanks for your video, it is so well explained and I needed it so much! :) Today I have just discovered the Beauty of Joseon products, I have read that may be beneficial for me as they seem to be good for people with milia, as they are not too oily. Hello Maria, They offer lightweight formulations, similar to those by The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Geek & Gorgeous, Good Molecules, etc. However, the most effective way to get rid of your milia is to visit a local dermatologist for extraction. The routine you're considering does sound good. They have also reformulated the toner, which is now a bit gentler. The overall formulation might still work well even though you have sensitive skin, as their products are generally very gentle.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thanks for your quick reply! As you said, for getting rid of the milia I´ll need to go to the dermatologist as you mention. Damp skin refers to when your skin has absorbed some water but has been dried off on the surface. It doesn't look much different on the surface alone than dry skin. And after washing your face, your skin remains damp for about 30 minutes. So this means: Wash face, take a towel pat the skin dry (remove all the water drops from the skin surface) Apply your Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid Apply your Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Oki sis but some utubers said that Hyaloronic acid should applied in damp skin since it absorbs water , if we apply it in dired skin it will take water from surfaces of the skin which lead to dried out the skin
@@zaynmeenu2709 Damp skin is okay. But Damp skin is not having water drops on the skin surface. While washing your face, your skin will absorb some water, damping it. And you will have damp skin for about 30minutes after washing your face. (So remove all the water from the surface, and apply the products immediately after it) The Hyaluronic Acid used in these formulations will not draw the water from the skin or environment; it is saturated already. If you already have dry skin, your skin can not hold on to water, and therefore your skin gets dry because the Hyaluronic Acid formulations do not have ingredients that can "seal" the skin to protect it from water loss. You would have the same with Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Marine Hyaluronics etc. because they are all missing these ingredients that dry skin needs. But it has nothing to do with Hyaluronic Acid.

Can I use the exfoliant and Retinol alternatively? (Also a recommended routine from friends) HUXLEY is a pretty good brand, in my opinion. I've used the cleansing gel (it'd be amazing for dry to normal skin, oily skin can double cleanse and the results would be great), cleansing oil (this is superb, cleaned off my makeup smoothly, no irritation to the skin or the eyes, not too liquidy and the oily affect isn't too much unless your skin is oily like mine), toner (also a favourite since it's so soothing and absorbs well by the skin), the serums are good too and I've tried the oil essence as well as the water essence. But they're mostly known for their creams especially the anti-gravity one. I stopped using mainly for the price range after it's been imported to my country but after a year of usage, it reduced my acne and even during menstruation, the cleansing gel soothes my inflamed skin then throughout the days my breakout will calm down. Hi! Thank you for sharing! Just recently got these as heard so much good reviews about it. Which serum is best to even skin tone? Also can I use Corsx aha/bha clarifying treatment toner before the essence? Will it pair well with the ginseng essence?
@Sadia Baluch You can use that toner before the essence. And technically, Alpha Arbutin would be the best, but it is a questionable ingredient.( in terms of efficacy) So I would suggest getting retinol or retinoid to help "even out" your skin tone; there, you will have the best chances of seeing some results

Hi, Melissa!! I Love your videos ! 🥰 i was thinking to get the Revive repair serum from this brand but I am not sure if it’s the right one for me, could you maybe help me ? I have been struggling with pretty dry face but forehead a little oily and I discovered that my problem with acne goes away when I use hydrating products but since living in another country my face has gotten really dry and it is such an uncomfortable feeling. In my morning routine I use Cetaphil cleanser lotion for dry skin, then I use Vichy mineral 89 serum and then I use a moisturizer which is from Cetaphil for dry skin, but I have the feeling that this routine is not working 100 percent for me 🤔would love if you could help me 🥰
Hmm, the skin can take several months to adjust to the climate when moving to another country. I've personally experienced this, and I essentially face it constantly due to my frequent moves between countries, sometimes encountering dramatic weather changes. If you've recently relocated, your skin needs much more time to adapt, and there's little you should do to interfere. As for a routine, you might consider: Cleanser Hyaluronic acid serum (e.g., Vichy Mineral 89) Cetaphil lotion However, I believe you primarily need just the cleanser. Let your skin be. If you're exposed to the sun for extended periods, do use a good sunscreen. And, of course, have patience! ;)
Hi Melissa.....cam you recomand a face Mask for large pores and many blackheads? I mean they are not Black, but yellow...I Tried the ordinary Red mask but do not noticr any difference
Hey :) It is probably best to use a daily SA exfoliating acid cleanser. And I suggest using The Inkey List SA cleanser or CeraVe Acne Control cleanser. You still could use the mask now and then if you like. Maybe 1-2 times a month.
Hi Melissa, love all your reviews! just a question. My PM skincare are: gentle cleanser, toner and alternately using theOrdinary lactic acid 5% and theOrdinary retinol 0.2% in squalene (as seen from your other TO reviews) is there any way i can include this Joseon Repair Serum in my PM skincare? What do you suggest? appreciate it!♥️
Hi Melissa, I have oily + acne prone skin. I get blackheads a lot. Do you recommend this am and pm routine on my face? I already am using the glow serum which really helps with the dark acne spot scars on my face!!
Hello :) Hmm, best to use a Salicylic Acid product instead of the AHA. If you can get that one. If not, then you could use something like COSRX BHA Power Liquid. But honestly, it is best to extract the blackheads with a tool ;)

Hii Melissa, sorry for too many queries but I'm new to this skincare routine earlier I was using cleanser moisturize and olay spf 15 so please guide me in my skincare routine
It's been 2 weeks since I'm following this skincare routine
Skin type - Normal to combination
Am
Cetaphil Gentle cleanser
Cosrx Snail Mucin power essence
Cetaphil moisturizer (Normal to combination)
Olay Spf 15 day cream
PM
Cleanser
Cosrx AHA/BHA toner (2-3 days a week)
Cosrx snail mucin essence
Citaphil Moisturizer
I have following questions-
I want to reduce my acne marks, pigmentations and making my skin glow. I was facing breakouts that's why I started skincare routine now I want to add BOJ Serum
1. Please suggest me which and when boj serum should I incorporate in my routine
2. Earlier I have been applying aloe vera gel at night and it helps me with my breakout so now can I leave a layer of aloe vera gel after applying Snail Mucin essence (on days when I'm not using AHA/BHA toner)
3. I also have dark circles so please recommend something for my dark circles.
Hey! :)
You do not need to use Cetaphil's moisturizer in the AM when using Olay's Day Cream with SPF 15, as this already serves as your moisturizer and a light sunscreen in one.
You can try the Beauty of Joseon Deep Glow Serum for your pigmentation. Also, achieving glowy skin (using an exfoliant or mild scrub + something hydrating) requires ongoing maintenance, as it's only temporary; natural skin tends to have a more matte appearance.
If Aloe Vera Gel works well for you, use it instead of Cetaphil's moisturizer :)
Regarding your dark circles, it's essential to determine the cause.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you so much Melissa :)
One last thing can you suggest any other sunscreen which is good because I don't know much about them and I heard that spf 15 is not that much protective.
They have light formulations with great ingredients and feel lightweight on the skin and give great protection.
ily you test every product

This is what they gave me:
AM Routine
Step 1 : Cleanser
Step 2 : AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
Step 3 : Niacinamide 15 Serum
Step 4 : Full fit Propolis Light Ampoule
Step 5 : Full Fit Propolis Light Cream
Step 6 : Sunscreen
PM Routine
Step 1 : Cleanser
Step 2 : One Step Original Clear Pad
Step 3 : Vitamin C 13 Serum
Step 4 : Full fit Propolis Light Ampoule
Step 5 : Full Fit Propolis Light Cream
They told me this is mainly to target my acne problems.

@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
I truly appreciate your quick reply.
Hey Melissa Please tell can i layer Propolis glow serum with Niacinamide and what should i use first
And also tell me is it safe to use during pregnancy because it contains Salix Alba Bark Extract or Betaine Salicylate if you have any idea regarding this so please clear my confusion
Hi there,
It is generally safe to layer Propolis glow serum and Niacinamide in your skincare routine.

You would need to know the root cause of your acne to treat and maybe cure it completely - but this can be very time consuming as it's such a complex topic.
That being said, I would simplify your routine:
AM:
- Mild Foaming Cleanser/ or Salicylic Acid/or 4-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser
- Essence (one of them)
- BoJ Glow Serum or AXIS-Y Glow Serum (use one of them as both contain Naicinamide)
- Sunscreen (no moisturizer needed as BoJ Sunscreen is already very hydrating)
PM:
- Mild Foaming Cleanser:
- Essence (one of them)
- Retinol (start with 3 times per week and increase the frequency overtime)
- Klairs Moistuirzer (when not using Retinol)

Can I use the calming serum and the alpha arbutin serum in my evening routine together
Yes you can
Hi Melissa! Thank you for this video!
My current serum is either Buffet or Niacinamide from the Ordinary. I recently purchased the Glow Deep serum from Beauty of Joseon. Is it alright to use one of the Ordinary serums that I have together with the Glow Deep serum in one routine?
From Malaysia with love.
Hello Alina,
Yes, that is okay. And you can layer in any order.
do i use the serum everyday? & could i use the green tea serum & deep glow together??
Yes you can use the serums daily in the AM and/or PM :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you for your reply! but could i combine like deep glow & green tea serum together ?
Yes, that's fine! :)
Hello, I'm interested in both glow serum and glow deep serum, can I use them at the same time, like layering?
Yes you can!
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet do you recommend first the glow deep serum and after the glow serum ?
Can I use the Innisfree Cica Retinol together with the Dynasty Cream?
Yes, that's fine! :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thanks Melissa! Just wanted to check since there is BHA in the Dynasty Cream. Thought that might react with the retinol
@@vanessagilbert97 Hmm? That one doesn't contain BHA. It is a very gentle moisturizer, and you can use it with your Retinol, or just use the Retinol on its own :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet ahhh ok I think I might have confused it with the Glow Serum Propolis & Niacinamide which contains Betaine Salicylate. 🤭🤭 thanks Melissa!! Love your videos btw ❤️
Thank u sm for this video, its super helpful 🙏🏻💖 I have a question! Would u recommend using a moisturizer after using the Beauty of Joseon eye cream? Im not sure about that , because it feels like the moisturizer is gonna move the eye cream away
Hey! :)
I haven't tried their eye cream (yet); however, do you feel the need to use a moisturizer in general? If yes, use only a tiny amount of the eye cream, which then, should quickly absorb into the skin and then follow with your moisturizer afterwards.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet yes, i definitely need to use a moisturizer, my skin is pretty dry. Okay, i will do that then! Thank u , Melissa😇
Hi Melissa - where would you add in Vitanim C in the am and Retinols in the pm?
Hey! :)
What Vitamin C and Retinol do you want to add?
hi melissa! just wanted to ask if this order is correct.
Am:
cerave hydrating cleanser
BOJ essence ginseng water
BOJ glow deep serum
cerave moisturizing cream
BOJ sunscreen
PM:
panoxyl 10% wash
BOJ green plum AHA 3%
BOJ essence ginseng water
BOJ glow deep serum
cerave cream moisturizer
Correct! 😉 But I think following the 10% benzoyl peroxide cleanser with an AHA is not a good idea; even though it only has 3%, it is still acidic and may irritate the skin.
Hi Melissa! Many thanks for your video, it is so well explained and I needed it so much! :) Today I have just discovered the Beauty of Joseon products, I have read that may be beneficial for me as they seem to be good for people with milia, as they are not too oily. Do you have the same feeling? Also, I was considering to try the Revive Eye Serum in my daily routine. I have a sensitive skin, so I would skip the AHA as per your recommendations :) Do you think that this morning routine with BoJ products would be fine? 1. Cleanser 2. Revive Eye Serum 3. Sunscreen. Thanks!!
Hello Maria,
They offer lightweight formulations, similar to those by The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Geek & Gorgeous, Good Molecules, etc.
I expressed myself poorly before :) I was considering BoJ to be my daily routine not to remove the existing milia, but to prevent from generating more, if that makes sense.
@@mariajosesanchez1856 Oh, sorry for the confusion. In that case, yes, the products are great as they have a very lightweight texture. Additionally, the brands mentioned above are similar and offer customization options to suit your specific needs.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Great! I will take a look at those brands, many thanks for your help!
Can brest feeding mom use niacinamide of joseon ?
I personally wouldn't use any skincare products during that time; I would just focus on keeping my diet healthy, like avoiding sugar and processed food.
Is their sunscreen good for normal to oily and acne prone skin? and can it be used in place of a moisturiser for normal to oily and acne prone skin?
Also, how do you find their glow serum (with niacinamide and propolis)?
Have a look at COSRX Aloe Soothing Suncream instead. This one is quite rich.
I just have the Alpha Arbutin Serum, however, I haven't used it that often. I mainly use their Calming Serum as that one suits my current skin needs :)
I did not get the Propolis serum.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Can their calming serum be layered with vitamin C serum? If yes, which one should be applied first?
Yes, however, you want to probably look into their Glow Serum with Niacinamide or their Alpha Arbutin Serum. Alpha Arbutin can be layered with Vitamin C.
As for Niacinamide, have a look at the video below:
How to Layer Vitamin C and Niacinamide Serum: ruclips.net/video/sSNUoiwKjHM/видео.html
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet If I would like to apply both calming serum and a vitamin c serum, which should be applied first? I heard that the more acidic serum should be applied first, is this correct? Thus I should apply vitamin C serum first, then calming serum?
@@violin0728 This depends on the texture/formulation of the serum. Layer from the thinnest to the thickest texture. If you use Klairs Vitamin C serum, that one isn't really acidic so, it won't matter.
Hi sis iam using niacinamide 5% and hyaloronic acid1%in damp skin next I need to use hyaloronic acid moisturizer shall i agin damp my skin will serum wash off or it is ok plz say sis 🥺
Damp skin refers to when your skin has absorbed some water but has been dried off on the surface. It doesn't look much different on the surface alone than dry skin. And after washing your face, your skin remains damp for about 30 minutes.
So this means:
Wash face, take a towel pat the skin dry (remove all the water drops from the skin surface)
Apply your Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid
Apply your Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Oki sis but some utubers said that Hyaloronic acid should applied in damp skin since it absorbs water , if we apply it in dired skin it will take water from surfaces of the skin which lead to dried out the skin
@@zaynmeenu2709 Damp skin is okay. But Damp skin is not having water drops on the skin surface. While washing your face, your skin will absorb some water, damping it. And you will have damp skin for about 30minutes after washing your face. (So remove all the water from the surface, and apply the products immediately after it)
The Hyaluronic Acid used in these formulations will not draw the water from the skin or environment; it is saturated already.

1.klairs vitamin c
2. Sulwhasoo First care activating serum
3.boj deep glow serum
4.boj revive ginseng serum
5.i'm from rice serum

👋 Hi Melissa what are your thoughts on using Vaseline for your skin?
Hello Lazer,
Yes, if you have dry to very dry - dehydrated skin, it is the best you can use. Otherwise, there is no need to use it.

Hi, Melissa! I have oily+combo skin, not acne prone but forehead and cheek bumps with clogged pores and over-production of sebum at my t-zone.
Would you recommend this brand for me? I was planning to buy its cleansing balm, sunscreen, peeling gel and glow serum.
Hey! :)
Overall, their products are fantastic, really!
Still, I recommend just getting one or maybe both of their cleansers (Green Plum and/or Balm Cleanser) and Glow Serum.
Their sunscreen may be a bit too heavy for you, instead, you may want to look into COSRX Aloe Soothing Sunscreen.
Also, I recommend getting either a 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser or Toner/Serum for your clogged pores/oily skin.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you for the advice, I was so in love with the sunscreen but I did worry about it being too creamy for my skin type. Can you recommend some toners for me as well or is the BoJ toner good enough?
I had planned to buy The Ordinary's AHA+BHA peeling solution, Inkey List BHA solution for spot treatment (I have dark spots from acne scars) and retinol, these were recommended by a friend.
What do you think?
PS. Have you heard of the Huxley brand? I don't see anyone reviewing it but I've tried it before and the formula is pretty good.
@@anyrak If you like their sunscreen, keep using it. For some people, the skin may feel a bit too moisturizing.
Well, BoJ Toner is an exfoliating acid toner, since you have already an oily skin type you may want to look into a Salicylic Acid (BHA) skincare product instead.
If you can, I recommend getting Paula's Choice 0,3%, La Roche Posay Retinol Cream or Serum or Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 0,05% Retinal Serum instead.
Do not use the exfoliant and Retinol in the same routine! :)
No, I haven't heard of that brand. What have you used from them?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I'll keep in mind of your recommendation too and will do a patch test to see which works best for me! I've been using your demonstration video for my routines lately, your videos are super informative and you present the points clearly.
ISNTREE Clear Skin BHA Toner is my second choice, you're awesome for knowing what my skin needs best. I'm always too focused on less hydration because of the oily combo skin issues, appreciate the tip!
Does that mean I don't need the AHA in my skincare? I like La Roche Posay better, I'll get that!
Can I use the exfoliant and Retinol alternatively? (Also a recommended routine from friends)
HUXLEY is a pretty good brand, in my opinion.
Another reason is I have a skin condition and Huxley uses lipids that my skin is sensitive too hahaha.
@@anyrak Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy my videos! :)
Yes, Isntree BHA Toner would be a great choice, I like that one a lot! :)
AHA products are usually recommended for people that have dry skin and sun-damaged skin. They can also sting on sensitive skin. Whereas BHA is more suitable for sensitive oily/acne-prone skin.
So, you've tried quite a few of their products...it's the first time that I hear about them. The products look great but I'm not sure if I'll try them :) There are soo many skincare products to try anyway😳
Hi Melissa! What are your thoughts on that bubble toner?
Hello Faith Wong,
Their whole line is fantastic. I always wonder why they do not get more attention 🤷♀️
But it is an AHA, which I do not tolerate that well. (I prefer Mandelic Acid or BHA - Salicylic Acid) But that is the case with any brand.
Do you have it or do you want to buy it? If so, what exactly do you want to know 🤔
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Exactly. I love their sunscreen! I’ve been looking for an AHA recently. I am currently using the Paula’s choice BHA but I don’t see much difference in my skin. I’ve heard that AHAs work better for normal skin.
@@faithwong128 Yes 😃
Yes, they do, and you will have smoother skin much faster (if you tolerate it well), but if you haven't used it before, the one from Beauty of Joseon would be a great option since it only contains 3%. Still, for me, it already stings, so Glycolic Acid is not my friend 🤪

Hi, Melissa!! I Love your videos ! 🥰 i was thinking to get the Revive repair serum from this brand but I am not sure if it’s the right one for me, could you maybe help me ? Hmm, the skin can take several months to adjust to the climate when moving to another country. I've personally experienced this, and I essentially face it constantly due to my frequent moves between countries, sometimes encountering dramatic weather changes. If you've recently relocated, your skin needs much more time to adapt, and there's little you should do to interfere.
As for a routine, you might consider:
Cleanser
Hyaluronic acid serum (e.g., Vichy Mineral 89)
Cetaphil lotion
However, I believe you primarily need just the cleanser.
