if I was invited to a party like that, I'd be the happiest person alive!
I was lucky to be able to dance with a baroque opera company. It was a lot of fun. the costumes and wigs always made me feel like a wedding cake.
Any conductor today who has not danced these dances has no right to conduct baroque music. The elegance in the music is organically reflected in the dancing.
So this is what Europeans do when nobody else is watching...
Somewhere in the back of the room, I heard a whisper about declaring independence, breaking away from His Majesty's Britannic Empire. Probably nothing serious. never gonna happen.
Everything may seem very nice and romantic........please note . Vaccines weren't discovered and medicines for illnesses weren't found. Life expectancy was low
Imagine being expected to know all those moves.... And you only dropped in for a drink
Where can I find the Part I and II ?
See, people often tell me I was born in the wrong time, but I think I was born in the wrong PLACE. There are lots of lovely folks who love to recreate historical fashion, music, and dances, but none of them live in Oklahoma.
This is fun to watch. But it was taken very seriously at one point. Strange.
I had the pleasure of taking two Baroque dance classes at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden a while
Hansel’s music is so majestic. Will forever be immortal
This is why we contemporarily refer to these pieces of music, customs, and dress as “classical:” they have become a timeless embodiment of grace and beauty. This world has produced countless scores of ugly things and people, but the old rituals of Europe remain an escape to a fantastical blip of time and place for millions to this day. Our ancestors from this era would be “floored” and delighted by our ability to hold a ballroom in the palm of our hands.
The fact that the couples match warms my heart for some reason
What a delight to watch and listen. The dancing was well practiced and the music lovely.
I wish I could like that video more than once.
O século XVlll foi uma época maravilhosa para se nascer, desde que você nascesse na nobreza, porque os pobres viviam na maior miséria.
Thank you. I love almost anything by Handel. This dancing is so
elegant!
Astoundingly lovely. As marvelous as paintings in a museum from that Era. Thanks to the men, ladies & who made this possible.
