    How do you store your tools for easy access and maximum portability? Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of Festool’s relatively-costly Systainer storage system.

    I love mine, I picked up two of these sets when they were on sale as well as a pack of Kaizen, I fitted out my Makita trim router, drill/driver, circular saw, and angle grinder, plus my M12 drill/driver. I also got some clear plastic cards and printed my own labels with photos of the tools inside.

      Right on! I wish I picked up another set while they were still available.

    I use the black and yellow HDX storage bins from Home Depot. Not the best, but it allowed me to get everything organized and put away so I could start using the shop.

    We do all our work in the shop. We don’t really travel to job sites so I can’t justify mobile storage containers. They’re cool looking though. Very jealous.

    Good review Cole. I just make several trips from my basement shop to the garage when I work there….. I should likely get something like these.

      I've really been enjoying them the past few weeks. The toolbox is fantastic and it's nice to have a small SYS3 on my CT MIDI for my dust extraction accessories. Still need to get a couple of foam inserts for two of them, but I'm really happy overall. They're one of those nice luxuries to have and I plan to get more, but they certainly aren't inexpensive!

    looks good like everything from Festool, The only downside is that it is way too expensive. Most construction workers (here in the Netherlands) are not that rich, I am 100% sure if Festool would halve their prices. they would sell 10 times as much. I've never understood why they don't see that themselves.

      Totally agree - I can understand some of the power tools being the current prices due to the general quality and warranty coverage for pros, but these accessories would be amazing at about half the price.

      Robert, if you could sell 10 thousand of something and make a million dollars, wouldn't you rather sell a thousand of something and make a million?
      Sure you would.

    my issue with the systainer is that the L series seem to be limiting in terms of how you want to stack them on the XXL.

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  Год назад +1

      It’s been put to pretty good use for a lot of different DIY jobs, woodworking related and other. The holes on the sides are great for screwdrivers/pencils and the size of the box is quite good for holding what I need. The only thing I wish it had was some sort of organizer in it (I could build one I suppose) as sometimes parts/papers can get lost if I fill it up too much.

      @@MasonWoodshop Thanks, actually just ordered one 30 minutes ago haha. It's 35 EUR here, surprisingly affordable for Festool compared to other toolboxes (a Makita version was almost double the price)

    Some annoying things on the new Systainers serie...As you can see in the unboxing the Organizer (clear cover Sys. ) is too small in height ( 89mm ) so that if you try to clamp it on top of any other Sys. the green attachment knob of the under Sys. will have to pass beneath the front handle vs the multitude of other combination of Sys. For me that have a little OCD it is a bit annoying but it is not a matter of life or death situation, *yet* , I like to have my screws or other misc. stuff at the top of my stack not at the bottom of it.
    The other think that annoy me is that the top handle of any new Sys. is now clipped so you have to put pressure under it to lift the handle the previous version was not clipped and I never had any bugs before.
    I don't understand why Festool or any other Co. make changes just to do make changes.
    The last thing is that If you want to install the previous version of black molded liners in the new boxes you have to play some magic with your cutters, the interior of the new boxes have a new design so it doesn't fit .
    So voilà ! I received my kit last week and will try them on a job next week.
    I had started to write this review with only one point in mind and found those others while writing...hope I wont find others while working...

      Thanks for sharing Raymond! I don't have a lot of experience with prior Systainers, but all of your points are very sound. Even the 137mm tall SYS3's need the side handle popped out a bit when stacking - wasn't a big deal to me, but now you've got my OCD going, haha!
      100% agree on the handle...I like that it folds towards the front, but the clipping is loud and annoying to me and it's totally unnecessary in my opinion.
      I'm hoping to get a few of the foam inserts (specific to SYS3) soon. It would have been nice if they kept the same internal design for all of the first and third party inserts that are available - it hasn't been easy for me to track down reasonably-priced SYS3 inserts here in Canada.

      @@MasonWoodshop I was thinking to replace the handle with a pull-out handle (like bigger systainers), but that part alone (festool 205526) is 26,5 USD! It not an option. Should be no more than 6 USD

    I LIVE IN MANITOBA< WHAT BRAND NAME WOULD YOU SAY OF BAND SAW I SHOULD BUY ???

    • @MasonWoodshop
      @MasonWoodshop  3 года назад

      I might not be the best to ask, but I'd recommend thinking about your needs and your budget. If for small projects, a 10" band saw from a local home center may suit your needs, but if you're looking for resaw capacity, a larger 14" or 18" would be best. I'd recommend checking out a local woodworking machinery shop if you have one.
