My grandpa owned a furniture store in a small town east of Winnipeg, until he retired in '72. He was a Leonard dealer so everyone in the family had Leonard fridges. He sold Philco TV's and console stereos. So we all had those as well. All at wholesale prices of course. In the late sixties, my grandparents bought a Dumont colour TV and console stereo (also purchased at cost, no doubt). Before he retired and closed the store, he started selling Panasonic electronics, so we all had TV's and stereos (not console, of course) from that brand. We received a Panasonic four-slice toaster from my grandparents for Christmas 1970.
Only in Canada would you have a fridge called Leonard. The voiceover on the Northern Electric ads is Bernard "Bunny" Cowan. (Best known as the announcer for Wayne & Shuster, and the Voice Director for "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"...and the voice of the Bumble!)
I recognize the orange crush bottles on the fridge door . they were smaller bottles and it cost 5 cents plus 1 cent deposit per bottle . the bottles carried just the right amount for a 6 year old like myself to drink from at the time . (early 1960's)

I'm glad these compilations exist, because I find Canada fascinating.

" What's for supper?"
"Canned Salmon of course"
"Canned salmon you say?"
" I want a divorce! "

It's almost like it was the same guy who narrated every single commercial between 1941-1965.
Perfex bleach commercial is amazing.
No rubber gloves and "always safe".
These were very interesting.
I would like to see some Canadian Ford commercials form the 1950s & 60s.
Wow👍
Terrific Canadian refrigerator, eh! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 😀😀😀😀😀

I was honestly expecting a more british accent
Why?
@@kennixox262 well the British were in charge at the time, so the standard dialect of English would probably be British RP
LOL What??? The British were not in charge.
